Personality Description:
Osmond has a rather bleak and negative view of the island's culture of consent. Though he would not say it is a terrible system, nor one without it's worth, Osmond has experienced a lifetime of its downsides. Out of consideration of others he was made to eat alone, out of consideration of others he should not eat at restaurants and should come to parties after everyone has eaten. The system has worn him down to a tired adult who resents his powers for the impact they had on his childhood and relationships.
As an adult Osmond ultimately seeks complete control over his life. Control over his job, his home, his food and his eating habits. Such control, however, is unachievable and in the end he succumbs to his hunger and wallows in his own inability to achieve his professional and personal goals. As a perfectionist he holds himself and others to the highest standards. Osmond is hard on himself, but takes it out on others with insults and a snide condescending attitude.
Osmond is not without his good side. He has an excellent work ethic, and strongly believes in performing community and charitable work. He is softer around his fellow half demons and is not truly malicious or unsympathetic to his fellow man. He lashes out and acts like a jerk out of misguided aggression towards himself. No matter what, at the end of the night he has to live with his hunger and must drown the misery in wine.
Active Abilities:
And They Shall Hunger For Eternity: As a (half) gluttony demon, Osmond feeds off the hunger of others. He can eat a person's sense of hunger, making them feel hungrier to the point of feeling starved. The person in question only feels starved, and is not otherwise impacted. Feeding in this way is the only means Osmond has to truly feel full and satisfied. He may consume normal food but it always falls short, a lackluster alternative.
Passive Abilities:
There Is No Escape From Hunger: Anyone who eats food within twenty feet of Osmond will fall under a very unfortunate aura of his. While eating, they will not feel full and will feel as hungry as they were when they started eating. It doesn't matter how much they eat, they will not feel any fuller until they leave his aura's range. Once outside of range they feel appropriate fullness for however much they ate.
Hellish: Osmond is twice as strong, fast and perceptive than a normal human. He has an increased healing rate, also about twice that of a human.
Weaknesses:
Half-Demon, Same Problems: Osmond will feel ill in the presence of religious iconography and when prayers or religious texts are spoken around him. He is burned by silver and may be trapped or stopped by salt circles.
All Fine Things, Are As Dust: While able to consume normal foods to satisfy his hunger, their nutritional value is not in the food itself, but its appearance. The more appetizing and tasty a dish or food looks, the less nutrition it has for him. Foods that look amazing do little to satisfy his hunger, while foods that look unappetizing does.
In addition, to satisfy his hunger with normal foods he must consume them in massive quantities.
Biography:
Osmond was born and raised on the island to his human father and gluttony demon mother. His parents met through the most cliched of plots: his father summoned his mother and then they fell in love. The two moved to the island to start a family and soon after the wedding Osmond was born.
From a young age Osmond deeply disliked his natural born abilities. Manta Carlos, ever the understanding place, did its best to meet his needs. He was granted a private area to eat in, the school made meals that would provide the most nutritional value. However, the compassion and empathy showed him did little to help the young half demon. His powers greatly effected his childhood, and some things are hard to forget. Like being told to come to his friend's birthday parties after everyone has eaten. Or being teased for having to consume unappealing food.
Nor should young children go on weekend trips to hell to visit family there. His parents loved him, and did their best, but they could not grant him what he lost growing up half demon. Osmond made the best of his life, but as he aged and advanced through school, his powers weighed more and more upon him. In college he sought a business education, and hoped to avoid the family business, but ultimately failed in the end. He completed his degree, and reluctantly accepted a position in his father's business.
Now, Osmond does his best to forget how miserable he is, his endless hunger, and live the best life he can. Even if he has to step on others.
