Now that was more like it! Nero stood up when the door opened, shit eating grin on his face. "Wakey wakey, sleeping beauty! Is this how you treat all your guests, babe? Earthlings, such brutes."

He crossed his arms right back at them in the next moment, tone getting more serious, "We made a deal." Clearly, not about to budge on this. "I don't really care if it was a milkshake broom fight. Not to mention, I'd like to wash off my nasty sleeves. Thanks." And with that, he pushed his way inside, still not shy with any contact.

He took a look around the hotel room, whistling, then headed for the bathroom to take off his jacket and clean it. He'd done this before, by a lot, turning into an almost instinctual process. "Nice place," he called back, over the running water. "So, still not gonna share your name? Fussy baby. We're practically BFFsies, after all we've been through together."

Really? He wasn’t going to budge on the whole milkshake broom fight thing?

“Fine. Go ahead and wash the stains out. Just don’t go tracking anything on the floor.” Felix opened up the door for him and sighed. Of course he was going to be stuck with him. What else did he expect? Every time he dared to hope, every time something even remotely right happened in his life, he’d get thrown another headache.

He really just wanted to spend the con with Toby, but it was all a mess. Toby disappeared somewhere, likely because Felix was getting too clingy. Asking him to dates and being overtly affectionate, not even a month after he turned him down? He had every right to not want to spend time with him. He needed to stop being a little bitch about it and stop sucking him dry like a little leech.

Aw, shit. He wanted to crawl under the covers and maybe cry a little bit, but he was stuck with this idiot. He slumped against the wall outside the bathroom, letting the guy do his thing without Felix hovering around him. He rubbed his temples. He was asking him for his name again, but like hell Felix wanted to see him after this. The plan was to give him what he wants until he leaves him alone, then never see him ever again.

“It’s Arjun,” he said through gritted teeth. He grabbed the essentials, stuffed them in his pockets, and peeked into the bathroom. “Are you done? We can talk outside my room.”

"Arjun! Got it! That wasn't so hard, was it? I'm Nero. Hey, that's an Indian name, right? I had a few Indian friends like, forever ago. S'funny, thinkin' about how it used to be the white kids that made me nervous and different feelin', then I got surrounded with fucking aliens, and stopped even bein' human myself. Pretty shitty deal, right? Ehh, I'm used to it now, though. Gotta live in the present! Que sera sera? That's how it goes, right?"

The pirate grinned at the Arjun when they peeked in, leaning on the sink and tugging his jacket back on. "You new to space, Arjun? Con goer? Correct me if I'm wrong, these are wild guesses." He left the bathroom and patted Arjun's shoulder nonchalantly, not seeming to register 'isn't liked' means 'don't touch the person who dislikes you'. "I'm good, yeah. Are you takin' me on a space station stroll?" He clutched his hands to his heart. "How romantic."

Nero followed after Arjun, pace unhurried. It wouldn't take a genius to tell he was going to draw this out. Every single moment of it. He won the fight, and while he didn't really have that kind of honor, he was very invested in the questions he'd be asking here. However, he still blinked for a moment when it was actually time to have the conversation. No more foreplay. He furrowed his brows as his head blanked. "Huh. Damn. I didn't think this far ahead. I don't even know where to begin with this…"

He flicked his long tail a little while he walked, absently. "Okay, okay. If a super clueless alien asked you 'bout earth, and Manta Carlos, and all that, where would you start? And no copout answers. I don't want the tourist's guide shoved at me. We have a deal. You are a Manta Carlos citizen, right? For how long, and did you go to school at the Academy?"

Out of the hotel and into the open. Felix didn't like spending time with this guy one bit, but at least they were someplace where they wouldn't get in trouble for anymore messes. He felt himself relax a bit, too tired to be fully hostile anymore. For some reason, Nero found him entertaining enough to stop harassing him beyond shooting questions a mile a minute.

"Right..." Multi-cultural place. Obnoxious shoving attitude. Felix couldn't help but think this guy did felt absurdly American. "Well, Indians in America are different from Indians in India. A lot of them have abandoned traditional practices and are even Christian." He nodded.

"Yeah, I came here for the con. I'm a huge sci-fi fan." He fidgeted with the ends of his sleeve, sheepish. It was fun until he got caught up in the middle of all the Shay and Toby bullshit. That was just stressful to think about, and why he broke off from the group.

He shrugged off the all the flirting, really. He wasn't really interested in him. He just wanted him to squirm. But hey, it was nice to have his company appreciated for once. "I was going to tell you to look up a pamphlet..." He made a face. "I'm gonna tell them that there's a certain number of the population that deviates from the majority. It's not really safe for the majority or those people, so they gathered up and made an island for themselves.

"I'm a citizen, yeah. I've been here since Middle School. I'm twenty-eight now. Starlight was really prestigious for me, so it baffles me that some people think it's not good enough for them. I was casteless, back in India, so everything in Manta Carlos felt incredibly luxurious to me. It still catches me by surprise from time to time."
