Silly stuff can work really well since it usually adds something new to games. And apparently nintendo is pretty good at doing that, and not just in games. If I ever get a chance to try Mario Sunshine someday, I'll be sure to take that chance.

Yeah, the purpose of fanfics is basically just to play around with ideas that would never make it into the series. Oh yeah, the social anxiety of being torn down by readers. That was actually one of the things that made me have a hard time roleplaying, but once I got into the thing, it just set off. Though I was afraid of doing something wrong, so most of my early characters were sort of this spineless, overly nice people, because I worried that if my character was a jerk, everyone on the forum would also treat me like a jerk. I was young, and I didn't know any better xD. But that exposure was really what I needed. Although I did say to myself that if I screwed up here and people shunned me, I'll just run away to another site and use a different name, so that may have helped as well xD

For playstation, I think they'd either use the memory card ports or one of the controller ports. Not really familiar with it, but PS2 had usb ports, didn't they?

exactly. it's always nice to have a change of pace so things don't get repetitive and boring. oh for sure; all of the things i've seen of their staff members/them as a company is so fun and silly. some of nintendo's business practices may be not so good, but their staff are definitely good, enjoyable people. and good! it's a very good game, i'm sure you'll enjoy it if you're able to play it!

mhm, so it shouldn't really matter what scenarios a person is writing, so long as those scenarios aren't at the expense of others.
ohhh yes yes i 100% understand that. the character i'm developing for this forum could technically fall under that category, so i'm a little nervous.. same with another character i developed for a different group (though with him he's just a emotionally scarred kid). i don't have a mean bone in my body, so writing characters who aren't exactly on the good side of the spectrum always leaves me feeling afraid. but i won't grow as a writer if i don't try new things, and complex characters are always enjoyable, too.

OH YOU'RE RIGHT i completely forgot about the memory card slots! it was like that with ps2's, but with ps3's, they didn't have memory card slots. maybe the gameshark thing would get plugged in where the controllers are plugged in? like a usb thingy.

Oh yea, plenty of those guys are amazing, and as for their business practices, yeah, that can be worked on. And I think they're loosening up now since they allowed Game Theory to stream some of their games. Albeit for promotion, but its definitely a good sign.

Do what I started to do in high school: say screw it and let's get this over with! Not only will it reduce your time of worrying, but it speeds things up a bit. Obviously this shouldn't be done on a couple of situations, but sometimes its just better to throw at the wall and hope it sticks. Don't worry though, I've found that jerky characters are actually popular since people like to add drama into their character's life. They also have an advantage of pushing things along and make it interesting.
And that's a good mindset. Always strive to get out of your comfort zone. It really does help to make you a better writer. And it has the added bonus of allowing you further improve your characters. It's like evolution.

Did the PS3s use hard disks by then? Because gameshark could have been downloaded there and left to run in the background. Otherwise the controller and usb ports would be the only way they'd get in, since I don't think overlapping the CDs would work very well.

it's so hard and scary to take the initiative on anything x_x... hopefully my time here makes it easier to initiate things. that's always been a problem i've had when doing rp stuff;;; i always want people to come to me rather than me put myself out there and go to others. i can't be doing that anymore or else i won't get anywhere.
yeah, it's like that in fandoms too. some of my favorite characters from series' i like are characters a lot of people hate because of their attitude and all that. flawed characters are good characters, and any character is able to get development, both good and bad.
i will evolve from a tiny sloth with anxiety to a slightly bigger sloth with a little less anxiety!

yeah, most things were handled internally and with discs with ps3's. i don't think i've ever seen a ps3 memory card that were anything like ps2/ps1 memory cards. a usb would be the likely case. i think it'd be something like downloading data online?? i used to use usb's to transfer save data people uploaded online for games i didn't feel like grinding in, so it could be something like that

Responsible? Ha! I laugh at the notion! I haven't been responsible since freshman year of college. I'm with you on the initiative thing. Honestly though, I've also been that type to let people approach me since I've never been good at approaching people in real life, and it bled into the Internet. Luckily though, it got easier when I got to know people better, and I'm sure you'll find that to be true for you too.
I found it hard to make flawed characters since I always want my characters to be this great awesome guy/girl, and adding flaws hurt that. But at the same time, I hated perfect characters since they were so boring (Which is why Superman will never be one of my favorites). Over the years, it got better and easier to make imperfect characters, mostly because I got a better understanding of what I want from the characters. And some of those flaws actually pop out spontaneously because "Hey, wouldn't it be funny if he hates this thing?"

Yeah, I believe so. If the PS3 allowed 3rd party programs to mess around with the games, I'm sure that would have been the case. As for downloading saved games with modified data, it's not unheard of that the saved games have also flipped a few flags and allowed some cheatsy stuff to happen like infinite health and all those classic cheats.

I spent so much hours on SIFeng ngl. I never spent money but I look back to the time spent on events makes me cry. I once ranked around 500~ for fairy Hanayo and while that was one of my proudest moments, that was also so much time of playing to keep the rank lmfao. I've been keeping an eye on myself for my other games since then. I haven't gotten far my other games :'D

But yeah! tiering for events in Enstars is a nightmare QQ My teams are way too weak since I don't grind as much and I swore to myself never to spend money but gosh so many good cards missed.

My best boy is-- oh boy I can't decide. It's most definitely Shu for me! But I also love the oddballs. And also Keito. Which is terrible because the current event 5* is Rei and Keito. My top unit is probably Valkyrie but I love... Undead.... they're my children, and I cri for them.

BUT YES TALK TO ME ABOUT IDOL GAMES I'm far behind but yes yes yes let us bond over Idol Hell

Sometimes I wonder why a farming simulator can take over my life but apparently it happens and gosh you're making me want to try Stardew Valley just so I can get the farming experience again. If i disappear of the face of SA, I've probably fallen into farming hell

oh man i feel you lol. back when overflow lp was first implemented into en sif i spent at least 3 hours playing non-stop so i could clear it all out.. it was during the imp nico event. it was the worst time of my life but i ended up with so many event points that i nearly tier 1'd the event.
i have so many games installed on my phone that i can't get into but i have good cards and stuff so i just can't bring myself to uninstall. and then there's the games that are mostly reading the story and stuff that i can never find the actual time to sit down and pay attention to. it's a struggle

earlier this year i ranked in that one reminiscence trickstar event.. i maxed out mao's 4* and got three copies of hokuto's 5*. i lost so much sleep and money from that event. same with the cinderella tomoya event. i almost ranked but at the last second i ran out of dia and couldn't get any more points. i was 20 ranks away from getting him :tears:
please never spend money on enstars cuz once you do you wont be able to stop. don't follow my example, i'm too far gone

Aw man, I wasn't even active anymore for the overflow LP but god did I lose myself when the first MedFest came out!? That was the christmas Maki iirc and I was crying so much and I spent so many loveca I was saving for scouting and I just lost sleep just for her. Terrible choices. I always had to cry over score matches though because MAN my teams were so weak. I didn't even get my first and only UR until they implemented the scouting coupons! QQ

I had to give up and uninstall though because it was taking up so much space on my android It wasn't even working right anymore. It was so painful, I had to uninstall it after the event ongoing then ended because I badly needed the cherry blossom Umi in my life. I have full confidence I can get it back with the play store but if not I would die. My hard-won SRs,,,,

But holy crap, my friend would slap you for that. She wanted that Hokuto 5* so, so bad but it was a dark day for her internet. She just got the first Rei 5* for this event yesterday and I'm super jealous but I literally screamed when she told me she just spent 150 dias to get him!

ALSO NO. I can't my teams are still terrible rn for me to compete for events but I NEVER even get the actual time to try and grind for fragments and dias yeesh. They're terribly weak I can't even live long enough in an event to get the points 4* (weeps) I can only cry for this cute 2nd year Rei now until I get my arse to get my teams to event worthy levels(sobs)

There's always a chance there's gonna be an idol trash somewhere, u just gotta set the trap right ( cough EnStar cough ) I really enjoy idol games! Usually from game mechanics but GOSH EnStars is its own gem. Though I haven't really tried everything yet since there's so many idol games, so little device storage. Band Yarouze is already taking up 2GB on my phone it's HORRIFYING

i remember the christmas maki medfest...... countless hours of spam playing songs to get event points......... only to end up not tiering..... that event was a nightmare, maki events are Terrifying. i understand the feeling tho a few years ago there was a nozomi event that was going on (it was around the time i first started i think??) and nozomi is my favorite so i HAD to tier for her. my times were bad but somehow i managed to do it. i stayed up until 5 AM on the final day of the event to make sure i got her

[hides behind my horde of trickstar 5*s] YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE!!! i had that same problem with the cinderella tomoya event.. at the very beginning of the event i was only able to get 12k points cuz the servers and my internet were collectively conspiring against me. i only got koga so far in the current event.... rei will be mine soon if you pace yourself over the course of the event you can get the 5* without spending so much dia! i usually aim for 150k points a day so i know i'll get the 5* on either the 9th or 10th day. also omg how much dia does she have saved up if she's willing to throw 150 of it at rei?! that sounds like me in mao events lolol

DANG i understand i haven't gem grinded in months i'm so lazy.. i'm like "why do i have 0 large gems still?!" and yet i haven't done anything in enstars except play events. i already sucked up all the dia from the lesson courses so i have to rely on events to give me it all. tho lately i've been forced to use all the dia i gather in the events cuz happy ele just keeps making ALL MY FAVES event cards. i was so upset when the knights reminiscence event came out and saw both izumi AND leo were the 5*'s. i want leo's card so bad..... i'm terrified to see what the revival event predictions are gonna be for that event

that's true! i'm so used to only finding idol trash on twitter that i have a mini freak out of excitement when i see one anywhere else. i wish with enstars they'd implemented a rhythm game feature considering they have enough songs to do so now. it'll never happen tho :tears: i never thought i'd get so invested in a game where you just tap the screen and suffer. my phone space is almost completely dead at this point cuz i can't stop myself from installing more idol games. it doesn't count as an idol game but i recently installed A3 and i keep forgetting to play it so it's just sitting there covered in dust, calling for me
