Headline: New Mountain Appears on Manta Carlos After a Dimensional Collide

Story: It is well known that on occasion, other dimensions interact with Manta Carlos. Previously, Mertown came into existence as a result of dimensions colliding.

Now, Manta Carlos has a brand new mountain after several Manta Carlos citizens accidentally ended up in another world, caught in a war between elves and dragons. Mount Raenac-Aezjtdaenr, as it is now know, resembles a massive stone dragon. Within a cave, there appears to be the head of the dragon being embraced by an elven woman. As informed by an individual who was pulled into the other dimension who preferred to be kept anonymous, the mountain is named in their honor.

The mountain is quickly becoming a new area of interest to those who want to get out into nature, as well as a romantic date spot. This area seems to have some sort of magical barrier where only divine magic works, so be sure to keep that in mind if you decide to go hiking!

Headline: Recent Computer Virus Outbreak may Endanger AI Citizens

Story: Multiple digital security firms have advised AI Citizens, Androids, Gynoids, and Robots to be wary of a new digital threat floating along cyberspace: A sentient computer virus known as 'Attrition', has broken out of quarantine and is known to be malicious in its intents, capable of incapacitating its hosts in preparation for possession.

The origin of this virus is unknown, but believed to have originated from an AI research lab in the narrow reality, according to specialists who have studied its code. We are told that, fortunately, the virus is incapable of creating copies of itself.

While multiple security firms are working to contain this virus, AI-based citizens are warned not to directly interface with, or plug into devices that are connected to the Internet. Isolated private networks however are okay, so long as it doesn't interact with networks connected to the Internet.

Old Coins washing up on the Beaches

Story:
Although the winter might be keeping many people off of the beaches, treasure hunters and novice collectors alike have taken to scouring the local beaches in search of mysterious gold and silver coins that have been washing up since the start of the weekend. First found by a young child accompanying their grandfather to collect pieces of driftwood, word spread quick and some beachgoers are now in a mad dash to find as many of these coins for themselves as they can before they are all gone. While officials haven’t done anything to stop the collecting of these coins, they do however warn those with certain metal allergies should be cautious on the beaches. These warnings come after an incident earlier today where two unnamed werewolves were burned by the silver coins and one unnamed fae who also suffered burns after picking up an old iron washer they mistook for a coin. The coins themselves appear to have originated from an alternative timeline or dimension as they seem to be written in a currently unknown language and depicts iconography that doesn’t correspond to civilizations known from the Narrow Reality. However they ended up here though, eager readers better be quick to pick up a shovel and run to the beaches to scoop up some treasure while there is still some left to be found.

Headline: Rare Species makes it's return to the wild.

Story: Back in the early days of Manta Carlos, a common sight was the Carlosian Winged Goat. Notable for it's distinctive bat like wings, and four horns. However, as Manta Carlos City grew, their habitat shrank, and frequent hunting for their horns, particularly for usage in potions, saw the species become a less, and less common sight.

However, a few stayed alive and were kept in captivity at the Starlight Zoo. However with the number in captivity rising, the decision was made this week to release a few of them into the wild in a attempt to re-grow the population.

"So far, the reintroduction has been a resounding success." Said Jason Vilato, a biologist and conservationist at Starlight Zoo. "The goats seem to be taking to their new environment well, and a few seem to be drawn towards the new mountain." He finished by adding that if this project does prove successful, it could pave the way for the reintroduction of countless other lost species.

Headline: Love is in the Air (Also in the Wanaal)

Story: Redleaf Farms, one of the more prominent Wanaal suppliers in Manta Carlos, is issuing a recall on the Valentine's Day Wanaal Special they had sent to stores in preparation for the romantic holiday. The special is a staple of the Redleaf Farms prepared every year to help celebrate the day of love but a recent statement has come forth that the Wanaal meat should be returned and refunded immediately due to 'unforeseen circumstances' in the production. Ryan Germaine, a representative of the farm, could not comment on the specifics for the recall but assures the public that the company is doing everything in their power to rectify the mistake.

"Here at Redleaf Farms, we strive to make sure our Wanaal is as fresh and delicious as possible before we send it off to stores. However, due to unfortunate oversight and a few unruly pranksters, our Valentine's Day Special did not meet the usual Redleaf standard that we strive for with our product. We are currently conducting an internal investigation for the incident and will endeavor to update the public when we have more information."

If anyone has purchased any of the Special Wanaal, it has been advised to immediately return it to the store. If it has been ingested, the Manta Carlos Department of Health have recommended watching for the reddening of skin, fever, minor chest palpitations, and occasional stomach issues. If these symptoms persist, the MCDH advise to seek medical assistance. The MCDH also stresses that the effects are temporary and not fatal.

Headline: Vantablack Thief Caught Red-Handed

Story: For those unaware, Vantablack is the name of a revolutionary paint that absorbs nearly 100% of light that hits its surface. It is this same paint that a thief named Edgar painted his morphsuit with when he tresspassed on private property.

The owner of the property, who requested to be anonymous, had light-based radar as part of their security, and Edgar was aware of this. Hoping to fool the system, Edgar spent a huge amount to get enough paint for his plan, which involved painting his backpack and motorcycle as well.

To his credit, the plan did work and he remained undetected, until he accidentally touched a newly painted red stripe on the wall, which the light radars immediately noticed. Edgar was picked up by the police, already unconscious after being hit by a frying pan by one of the residents in the property at the time.

Headline:
Oceania Park’s Purple Grass

Story:
They say the grass is greener on the other side, but today residents of Manta Carlos will find one side of Oceania Park more purple than usual. The cause of this unusual color at everyone’s favorite local park was due to a new formulation of fertilizer applied onto the grass this past week. A chemical compound in the fertilizer meant to make the grass more resistant to pests appears to have degraded into potent dye as a result of the colder temperatures.

A preliminary investigation has shown that the grass does not present any danger to citizens, and that the grass itself seems to be perfectly healthy aside from the curious coloration. Islanders who wish check out Oceania Park can enjoy the purple grass for about a week before the dye compound is expected to break down further, causing the coloration to fade. The company responsible for the fertilizer admits that while color change was unexpected, the interest it has generated has prompted the idea to test the market feasibility for temporary color-changing dyes for treated lawns and landscapes for the future.
