Private Whispers of the Mind

"A little present?" she echoed, confusion evident in her voice. If it was possible, Michi would have had her eyes furrowed, unsure if what on earth Lizzy was talking about. Even though they were practically in the same headspace, she couldn't read Lizzy's mind. Lizzy pulling out her phone was nothing Michi worried about. There was no lock on it in the first place, so it was clear didn't have much to hide. Until, that is, Lizzy found one of her diary apps. It took her a moment to respond, the voices filling the silence between then for a while. "It's what it says on the label," she said, clearly not wanting to say more.

A mouse. Michi blanked out for a moment, the silence between them filled with incoherent chatter before she vocally echoed, "A mouse? But how?" The questions that first came to Michi was where were they getting the mouse and how on earth would they catch one? She wasn't against the prank but how the heck? At the mention of the contents of her diary, Michi would have flushed, but not from embarrassment. "I don't have a boyfriend! You can't open that," she protested. Her diary was locked for a reason, and it's because it had her secrets in there -- things she thinks would probably ruin her to her friends. Recently, the voices have seeped into it, and some of the entries were perhaps too macabre.

Michi would have stared at Lizzy in silence if she could. That was... a joke? Michi was starting to not understand anything. Or maybe it's the voices messing with her train of thought. "I... I mean I'm not against it, to be honest...." she told LIzzy, her voice trailing off for a bit. Between the two of them, Michi wouldn't be the first one try pulling pranks, but she wouldn't stop Lizzy from trying to cope with the madness of being in her head. At the mention of her and Rowan and her -- if it was possible, there were question marks floating around her by now. "I don't-- what?" Did they all really think they were dating? Michi was in disbelief, by now she'd thought they already trashed that idea. Rowan was her best friend, that was all there is to it. "We're... we're not a thing. Why do you guys keep saying that-- wh..."

Michi said nothing more about the prank idea. She wasn't 100% on board, but when was she ever to speak up about it? Besides, she had 0 control of her own body at the moment and she didn't think she has the mental fortitude (or the heart) to force Lizzy out of her headspace. Whatever Lizzy was in the mood for. Except for one thing which Michi could never really process. If only the girl had an image of how Michi looked, she was shaking her head in confusion, hands in front of her like she didn't know what to do with them. "He has a what?" she managed to speak out. This was news to her. Rowan? Crushing? On her? When and how? "You're not serious," she said, trying to make Lizzy say she was joking. The thought had never occurred to her, and never had she thought of being anything else with Rowan. What was wrong with their friendship now? "I don't... He's my best friend though.I don't. I don't... see him any other way."

If Michi's brain was an actual computer, it was currently a blue screen. She could never understand how anyone would even have a crush on her and it frustated her that this news wasn't even sinking in. What the heck was she missing out on? "Lizzyyyyyyyy!" she whined at her friend, trying to get information of from her. Surely, she knew more with that tone of voice!
