It wasn't often that Ven felt like a real werewolf.

Part of the argument for this is because, by the modern definition, many people argued against the fact that Ven was a werewolf. He was, just not the howl-at-the-full-moon-kind.

That didn't stop Ven from trying. He was creeping through the underbrush in the dark of the woods.

His human body was nestled comfortably in a tent several miles away. He'd texted someone to let them know where he'd be staying in case Ven didn't wake up for a few days so, at the very least, he knew he was safe. He got to do wolf things, or at least, what Ven thought were normal wolf things. He'd read a book, so Ven was practicing being more wolf-like, skirtng through the trees, pausing to listen and perk his ears when he thought he heard something.

He was slowly getting the hang of this, he thought. His tongue lolled and Ven stretched, completely oblivious to the fact that he'd pushed beyond the normal woods and into the forbidden forest.

Like any night, ferris was out in the deep woods of school after hearing that these forbbiden parts were dangerous and riddle with monsters, ferris couldn't resist but to begin a hunt through them. He had his Icebreaker magic ready in hand to whip out his blade to fight the strongest beast he could find.

But much to his dismay he had only found in the woods so far was a...wolf.

Mind him it wasn't a normal looking wolf but nothing impressive to him. He studied it while hopping stealthily on the tree tops looking at it from a fair distance, he could sense a different kind of smell with this wolf. Almost like it wasnt native to this place. Perhaps this beast was exotic, a worthy hunt for ferris to try something new.

Thus ferris slowly crouched on the branch like a hawk, staring at the wolf, he would ambush the animal with speed and efficiency. But that's when the branch he was on made a large crack noise, and immediately after ferris hopped away and land in the bush hidding.

"Damn it." he cursed to himself

There was a crash in the woods.

Ven froze, one paw raised, his entire body alert. He cocked his ears higher, straining them as far as he could. His nose twitched, but Ven wasn't entirely great at discerning all of the scents yet. He could smell the thick, cloying scents of the woods and the night and if he wasn't careful it was enough to make him feel drunk.

But, he was able to pinpoint the sound. It came from near that brush only some distance back.

Ven wondered what it was....and because Ven had an idea, and even if it was a stupid one, he was sticking towards it.

He approached the brush, his tail hung low, his head down, his eyes and nose working to figure out what the source of this sound was. Maybe it was a deer or something he could practice chasing.

So, like an idiot, Ven approached the brush.

What popped out of the bushes towards Ven was not a deer or even a rabbit.

It was

A PERSON??

Were Ven capable of human speech, he would have let a stream of obscenities starting with oh shit and not today motherfucker stream from his mouth. Ven didn't move entirely fast enough to avoid being tackled, but he did squirm his way out from beneath the person.

Ven looked over his shoulder for a moment, sides heaving, trying to figure out why this man just tackled him.

And then....Ven figured he'd better start running.

Ferris looked forward to where the wolf started running, normal the grip hed hav on it would be enough but today mustve just not been his day.

"Damn wolf, slipped under me. Hmph he won't get far." ferris then got up slowly waiting a second or 2 before going to the paw print of the wolf, he smelled the print focusing his senses on it with his eyes closed.

He lowered himself, sprinting through the woods still yet with his eyes closed dashing swiftly around trees following the path that the wolf might have taken or at least where the scent would lead him, during this chase he would grab and break a branch off a smaller tree and wish transmutation magic to make it into a short bow, he would also make 3 arrows while passing by other smaller branches.

Once he felt he was close to the wolf he suddenly hid in the dark of the shadows around. He slowed his breathing and focused on the sounds of the wolf's breathing if he had tired out. Ferris opens his eyes ready with the short wooden bow nocked with one of the arrows ready.

Ven was panting from his short burst of speed. This wolf-shape was well adapt to running like this, far better than Ven's human body, but he was still surprised. He tilted his head back, his ears perked, but he didn't see the man anywhere.

So Ven slowed down, trying to orient himself in the darkness. Why did that man try to jump on him?

Shit, maybe Ven's human body wasn't as safe as he thought it was. Ven slowed down even further, stopping for a moment in the woods, lowering his head to sniff at the ground.

He was, unfortunately, a perfect target.

Ferris's breathe came to a crawl, he smoothly yet very slowly nocked the arrow in his short bow. He aimed at ven's hind leg and breathed in before letting loose the arrow.

At that moment ferris let himself breathe and heartbeat to go up again. It was common technique to master his breathing when hunting. He would then walk up out of the shadows to see what happened.

Ven had just started to relax. He didn't hear anyone coming from the direction he'd ran. Ven had turned to face it and was trying to orient himself. He glanced at the moon which reflected in his yellow eyes.

And then pain.

White, hot blinding pain.

It shot up his hind leg and sent a kaleidoscope of colors shooting over his eyes. He didn't even have the opportunity to draw a breath--what escaped his lungs was a loud cross between a whine and a scream and the human part of him desperately thinking the word fuck.

Ven tried to drag himself forward but his back leg collapsed under him. His eyes were wild and his head went from left to right, trying to find the source of his attack.

As the same man stepped out of the shadows, Ven lifted his black lips to show him his sharp, bright white teeth and a low growl rumbled through him.

"Hmm still got a good fire in you." ferris looked at the wolf, his eyes cold and bright teal glowing in the darkness before his face is revealed by moonlight. "The night is still young like yourself...ahh why not, its not like I have any friends waiting for me back at the school. Thus I will hunt you for a while longer." ferris took the arrow out of ven's hind leg quick and got out a healing potion from his back pouch, spraying it at the leg while stepping away quickly enough to avoid getting bit.

Ferris slowly walked around the wolf as the wound would've healed, "Show me your heart little wolf." His icebreaker greatsword would flash into existence upon his hand, 7 ft long made of ice and metal with bits of snow flaking off the massive blade.
