"I know it wouldn't," he admitted with a sigh. This was bound to happen but he imagined to meet her again with his other side before this. He cast his gaze down for a moment, subconsciously playing with the claw accessories -- a blatant reminder of who he was at the moment.

"My real name... is Ildefons Roderic Draganarakta. Second prince, main family of a royal line of dragons. Most people here recognize me by that name so I have to act somewhat proper." He seemed to laugh at the thought, but it came out more of a scoff. "I highly doubt my family would be happy to know their younger prince wanders off underground brawling late in the evenings." He wanted to laugh, honestly, but he was sure already how cynical he was beginning to sound; laughing wouldn't help him. Instead, he chose to try to smile his way out of it. "I'm still Elric. Just a little stuffier I guess."

Ildefons' smile completely faded into a somber expression when he'd looked up back to Emily, trying to meet her gaze. "My family... my kind has a history for bloodlust and... it's really not the best thing to happen when kept unchecked." A frown crept into his features as he continued to speak. "I'm doing the best I can to keep myself in line. This is all what it's for. You have to understand."

Emily turned back to face him, listening to his explanation. She was surprised to hear what he was. While the island housed many different being, that didn't lessen the impact of hearing the cute boy you just met was actually a dragon.

She cleared her throat as she brought her thoughts back to the present moment. A slight flush crossed her face as she realized what she had been thinking. "I... Don't think th-that should... E-Excuse your behavior..... Y-You can act proper w-without being s-s-so distant..."

Once he'd finished speaking, she turned her eyes on the floor. His words had definitely had an effect on her, but it was hard to tell if she had been convinced to forgive him. "..... S-Surely... There's something e-else you... Can d-do... If it's a familial p-p-problem... C-Couldn't you try counseling..? Or a-actual therapy..?"

Ildefons had his eyes on her, gauging for her reaction but he might have been too focused on trying to see her reaction about his 'confession' or whatever that the reddening of her face didn't seem to make sense to him at that moment. He decided to dismiss it for now; worry about it later.

He cast his gaze downward, staring absently at the floor as he mumbled to himself. "That's... how things are with my brother." His words seemed like it was more to himself than to Emily but the next words he spoke were more audible. "He makes it like we're above everything I..." He wanted to be so much like Alaric. He's regal, literally the picture of a true heir, perfect in every aspect and meanwhile him... "I have to follow a standard after him, being the younger brother and all." Even though he was the one who said it, he looked just as upset by the idea that he was walking in his brother's shadow.

He breathed out quietly, as if to release whatever tension that was building in him. "I've tried.. other outlets. And as bad as it feels to say, nothing just felt right. It never really goes away. It's literally in our blood. A need that could drive one mad..." Ildefons looked at her with narrowed eyes and a smirk that while it would have seemed playful, it could have been easily mistaken for something threatening. "Like an insatiable hunger for prey."

Emily took a step back when she was struck with the force of his expression. Fear flashed in her eyes for an instant before the flavor of his emotions calmed her. She would easily be able to tell if he meant her harm, right?

She looked down at the floor again, losing herself in contemplation. After a little while she just shook her head. "I... Don't understand..." Her tone was more resigned this time. Em wasn't even sure she was capable of understanding anymore.

She turned back to the files, sliding several more into place while also fixing some of her mistakes. "..... So... What happens... I-If you lose... If y-you get hurt..?"

Ildefons saw Emily step back but her fear didn't show long enough, realizing she saw though him already. He laughed it off; knowing at least he could managed to look threatening with this face. Still, he looked just as resigned by his own poor explanation. "I'm sorry. You don't have to think about it that hard. I just... my older brother is someone I have to follow after. The family expects that from me. That's all there is to it."

He turned back to the desk next to him, resuming to finish his half of the filing. "Lose to the hunger, or to my fights?" He laughed. He never lost to any of his matches once. At least the cleaner fights without the strong underhanded magic--he always had an advantage on almost all cases save for those against stronger magic. "Blood dragons get more power the more injured they get. Even with just that, I haven't lost a single one yet." he said rather proudly, even with the sound of his voice, EMily could tell he was smirking.

"We can b-both tell you're... Not c-content with that..." She brushed her hair behind her ear, not really expecting a response to her comment. She slid her last file into place and turned toward the room.

Either was the answer a part of her wanted to respond with, but she held her tongue. "... D-Does that... Apply to y-your... Mental state a-as well... A-Are you sure you're not... Just afraid... Of n-not being strong e-e-enough..?"

She idly wandered over to one of the desks in the room, trailing her finger over it's surface. She pulled a deck of cards out of her pocket, looking down at them and shuffling them habitually. There was a long pause before she slowly turned her head to look at Ildefons again.

"... Would you like me to tell your fortune?..."

Ildefons paused from his filing, one hand just hanging in the air while he stared blankly at the folders in his hands for just a moment. He didn't need to confirm it. He did want to be a lot like Alaric but always did feel like he was trying to be something he couldn't -- not because he couldn't ever be like him but because it didn't feel right to him. It wasn't all of him. All he could offer as a response was a heavy sigh, before resuming again.

The question Emily startled him, turning to her with a furrowed brows as he shut the filing cabinet behind him. It was an odd question to him -- although he wouldn't erase the possibility for a few to have that motive. But not to him... "That never even crossed my mind," he denied, looking down at his hand, clenching and unclenching it. "I know it's not about power; it's about the peace of mind. I'm not scared about not being strong enough. I'm... worried about losing control."

For a moment, there was only silence between the two of them, Ildefons lost in thought before Emily spoke, bringing him back to reality. He dropped his hands to his side, his gaze turned to one side in contemplation, before looking back to her. Ildefons never dismissed fortune-tellers, and while he didn't rely his fate on them, he was always a little worried about fortunes. Still, "I don't really see why not."

She glanced up at him when his cabinet closed rather abruptly. "I-It seems like... Losing c-control... M-Might not be a-a... All that d-different..... D... Do they n-never... C-Come back..?" She wasn't entirely sure she wanted that question answered. Images of a great dragon tearing through the underground flashed through her imagination. What did Ildefons look like as a dragon? Where blood dragons red? Or maybe black? where they even dragons like the fantasy depictions and not just humanoids?

It occurred to her she knew very little about Ildefons.

She turned and held the cards out towards him, tilting her head slightly. "... I need you... To mix the cards... It's important... What are you seeking..? Are you wondering about something..? Your future..? Or present?" She licked her lips as she watched him, savoring the feelings he was experiencing.

"After a while yeah," Ildefons replied rather distantly, his gaze seemed to look past Emily rather than to her. His voice was soft and light, like he wanted to say his next words as kindly as possible. "Once the need to destroy is satisfied at least. During that time, you go feral. You forget who you are, you won't care who's around you," His gaze focused back on Emily, fear flickered in his eyes at a faint memory before it softened, "No matter who they are, all that would matter is that primal need." Ildefons smiled guiltily, "I don't think anyone wouldn't be scared of that."

Ildefons read to pick up the cards from Emily's hands, careful not to nick her palm with the tips of the claws. He seemed thoughtful as he shuffled the cards in his hands. "Most people wonder about the future," he seemed to mutter to himself, and after sliding the cards over a couple more times, he held them out to Emily. "What do the cards tell you about the present?"

Emily turned her gaze to the ground, not really sure how to comment on the fugue his kind fell into. "... Th... That d-does sound... Terrif-fying....." She fidgeted a little, unsure where to go from there.

"... Your future then..." She took the cards back from him and set one hand on top of them. "... They tell me many things... They can tell me about relationships... Or opportunities... It depends what you ask them... Possibilities that may come to pass..."

She took a couple steps around to the other side of the desk, laying out three cards in a triangle pattern. "... Think about what you want to know... Then turn them over... I'll interpret them..."

The first card. "Temperance... Economy or... Accommodation... Frugality... It could mean it's best for you to restrain yourself... Keep your affairs in check... Or maybe... To allow things to happen..."

The second card. "The Devil... Violence... Looks like it's following you... It also means fatality... Or predestined things... Extraordinary efforts... Futility... Something is binding you... I think..."

The third card was upside down. "The Inverted Chariot... Quarreling... Defeat... Disputes are going to come your way..... Probably... You might take precautions against failure... Because it's stronger then you might think..."
