Adryan raised an eyebrow at Hah'en when she mentioned it might be good for him to be a bit more paranoid. There was a distinct difference between being careful and being paranoid.

"Oh yea? Why's that?"

As she spoke about the similarities to her native tongue it made sense as to why she would come here often then. The service seemed good, and the food must have held up if she kept coming back. Couple that with being able utilize your native tongue in a setting that wouldn't draw attention was attractive.

"I can see why you like it here then, if the food is as good as it seems."

Adryan didn't push the language too much. Nux was able to help him fit in with any language as long as he heard it a little first. A handy trick that allowed him to blend into crowds. He never paid much attention to what and who the languages connected to so it wasn't an interest of his really. A coy smile played across his lips.

"But if you ever miss speaking your native tongue, I can almost guarantee I can pick it up in a few moments."

"Just a simple suggestion, think nothing of it if you wish."
Hah'en said, and her tone clearly stated that she would not be specifying her reasons for saying what she said. Adryan seemed like the kind of person to throw himself at and into things, at least based on Hah'en's observations. But they could also be false, since the man had also proven himself to be perceptive and manipulative. As often was with thieves.

"How can the food seem anything to you when you haven't actually tasted it or smelt it?"
Hah'en said with a huff and a hint of a smile. She was surprised that Adryan didn't push on the language topic, or ask where Hah'en was from. Well, Adryan was perceptive, he must've realized that Hah'en preferred to keep her private business private. And she appreciated that.
"It's not a language that exists in this realm, I highly doubt that."
Hah'en commented, and as a small thank you gave Adryan a hint that she wasn't from this world. She could share that much, since it seemed to be common on the island.

"Well people don't really recommend places that aren't good. And I feel you are extremely critical of everything."

Adryan's tone was a kind one implying a compliment. Being critical was good. It kept you alive and well off. He could respect that trait in someone.

"Fair enough. Im not sure how Nux does it so who knows."

He had let his demon's name slip. But it wasn't as if it could really do any harm. Besides, in a way, Adryan trusted Hah'en. She would only use the info against him if he crossed her on the job again, and that was something he would absolutely avoid if he could.

Critical of everything. Well, Adryan wasn't wrong, Hah'en had strict and occasionally high standards. But there was something in his tone that told Hah'en that he didn't think it was a bad thing. She acknowledged his observation with a slightly raised eyebrows and sipped her water.
"I appreciate you trusting my taste."
Hah'en said, and yet again the ghost of a genuine smile showed on her face for a short moment.

So Adryan hadn't just been bragging, his language comprehending ability was another power granted to him by the entity inside him. Whose name was apparently Nux. It had a name. Hah'en was now completely certain that whatever was inside Adryan was nothing like the spirits in her world. They didn't have names, and you didn't give them one because then...bad things happened. Names had power.
"...You had more petty tricks up your sleeve than I thought."
Hah'en said in her mother tongue, and gave Adryan a small look that said 'Well?'. She was waiting for a sign that would tell her whether or not he understood her. To Adryan the language would sound like a mix of French and Italian, sounds deep from the throat and long, hissing s-sounds.

"Why wouldn't I trust your taste? You nascent given me a reason to not trust you."

It was true. She could have hauled him off to the authorities easily, and she hadn't. Her reasoning for not was her own but he was still thankful for it.

Adryan closed his eyes for a moment as Nux went to work. He never told his vessel how he was able to do what he did. Adryan just knew that it happened.

"Petty? Debatable. Trick up my sleeve? Absolutely. You of all people should know about revealing all you are capable of."

He spoke the words flawlessly though his accent struggled in the beginning. Halfway through the accent fell into place and it sounded like he had spoken it all his life.

"I'm rather proud of this one." Of course he was. The demon liked reminding Adryan of what he could do, simultaneously Nux knew where he would be without Adryan.

"He's pretty proud of that."

Hah'en didn't know what she had expected, but for some reason hearing her mother tongue come out of Adryan's mouth made her want to slap him and then herself. She hadn't actually imagined anyone in this world speaking her language, and somehow Hah'en felt like she had betrayed a secret by letting someone hear it and then decipher it.
But outside Hah'en's eyes only got little wider, despite the emotional turmoil inside, and her lips pursed slightly.

"You have surprised me."
Hah'en admitted, back to English. She didn't want to speak her language anymore, not in a public place. Now that she had no intention to return to her world it felt...sacred, private. And Hah'en had been a fool to get pulled along by a momentary urge to see if Adryan could understand her or not.
"I will admit it is a useful ability, not a common one for a thief to have. But it allows you to better fool people of all cultures and ethnicities, I suppose."

Adryan noticed her eyes widen as he spoke. He didn't know how to interpret it. She stated she was surprised, but was that a good or bad thing. She had slipped back into English instead of continuing, so Adryan made no attempt to continue as well.

"Don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing. First time you surprised me I ended up with a bruise."

Adryan chuckled slightly at the memory of their first encounter. It seemed so long ago with how far their relationship had come. If Nux would have hinted they would be having a meal together after sharing a dance after their first encounter, Adryan would have died laughing.

"It is definitely useful. Helps me blend in wherever I go."

When Adryan made a reference to their first meeting Hah'en couldn't help but let out a short amused huff as well. She was surprised that she was having dinner with the very person who had almost made her lose her paycheck...twice. Hah'en would say that she had sunken low, but she had associated herself with much worse people with very questionable goals. Adryan seemed different from them, in demeanour certainly, but also in spirit. But Hah'en couldn't be certain of that, she wouldn't be. No one was to be trusted until they had deserved it in dedication, blood or sacrifice, or all three.
"Interpret it however you want. You keep your secrets, I keep mine."

Their food arrived soon after Hah'en said her piece, and she could smell the meal the moment the server exited the kitchen door on the other side of the restaurant. She waited patiently for the waiter to set the meal before her and then thanked him in Italian. The waiter smiled, wished them a good meal in Italian and went to serve a group that had just entered.

Hah'en, in a manner that showed she did it a lot, unfolded one of the napkins that were on their table and spread it on her lap in case of spills. Her food had a lot of sauce, after all. The way she held her fork and knife and ate were all very clean and proper, Hah'en hated getting dirty and the way she ate and held herself had been pounded to her mind and body when she had been just a small child and later a teenager. During her time at the guild Hah'en had tried to shake these habits, to be more wild and unruly, but had eventually returned to being proper. It just felt more...her.
Though as Hah'en ate she took a short moment to close her eyes and appreciate the taste, this place really had good food.

Adrian smiled at her huff. It seemed she felt the same of their initial encounter to where they were currently. He haff to admit it was strange but it was definitely welcomed. Besides Nux, he didn't really have anyone he could just talk to. Part of that was his own doing he admitted but it didn't change the fact that this was enjoyable.

As the food arrived, Adryan again marveled at her impeccable accent. Even with his ability it took him a moment to lock it in. He was quickly distracted by the smell. It was wonderful. The aroma filling his nostrils.

It seemed as though Adryan had stayed imitating Hah'en as he placed his napkin and picked up his utensils, but it wasn't. This was second nature to him. Adryan had learned the details of fine dining in his travels. Another helpful skill in his line of work.

The first bite entered his mouth and his eyes widened as he looked down at the food in disbelief at how good it was.

"Ish is amazshing...."

He spoke through a full mouth then quickly covered it. He had forgotten his manners momentarily. Swallowing quickly Adryan looked up to Hah'en.

"Uh... sorry. It is just so good."

Hah'en was surprised but pleased to see that Adryan conducted himself properly and neatly like she did when he ate, even putting a napkin in his lap like she did. And when Hah'en about to scold Adryan about eating with his mouth full he quickly corrected himself and apologized. Hah'en raised an eyebrow slightly to show her surprise, but didn't comment on it.
"I'm glad to hear you like it."
Hah'en said and smiled slightly. She was doing that more and more in Adryan's company, the man was good to be around when he was genuine and they could have decent conversations.

"You can sample my dish if you wish, I have already tasted the one you ordered before."
Hah'en said and did a small gesture at her plate with her fork. She didn't mind sharing, especially since Hah'en wanted to prove to Adryan that her taste was indeed impeccable.
At that thought Hah'en paused. Why did she feel the need to prove anything to this man? He was insignificant, she shouldn't feel anything like this. His opinion didn't matter, no one's did. Hah'en got momentarily angry at herself, but it didn't show outside as anything else but a moment of tenseness around her eyes. Hah'en kept eating and didn't speak while she did. Hah'en preferred to focus on the food when she ate. She made sure to at first eat just on her side of the plate, so if Adryan wished he could take some of the food for himself to taste.
