Adryan nodded. If she was able to catch and stop him, then she was going to succeed in the line she was in. While her answer did technically answer his question, it wasn't what he had meant.

"Didn't mean how you were doing in them, I knew you'd do fine. How are they treating you? Are you enjoying it?"

Adryan wanted to know if she was enjoying herself. She was so serious all the time, he was hoping she took time to do things she enjoyed. Not unlike at the Gala when she mentioned she enjoyed dancing, she had to have other things that she enjoyed. Sometimes you just had to break from the day to day to enjoy them.

"She's gonna get annoyed with you asking personal stuff and put you through a window again." Nux taunted. He was notorious for pushing issues at the wrong time. Adryan turned his head away from Hah'en for a moment while he answered.

"She didn't put me through a window. She opened it first."

Ah, here they came. Personal questions. They were inevitable, of course, Adryan was a curious creature. Hah'en supposed it wasn't all that bad there was someone near her that asked her personal questions, she needed to learn that disclosing harmless personal information such as what she enjoyed wasn't going to hurt her. Not like it would've in her old world and position. In this place dragons weren't nearly extinct, Hah'en wasn't an assassin who had to seem as non-existent as possible and there were no people that were to hell-bent on destroying her that they would use every little piece of information to do it.
Here Hah'en was just...Hah'en.

Hah'en took a breath, preparing to answer, but then Adryan spoke to himself again and did a poor job at hiding it. Hah'en frowned a bit and sighed.
"I do not care if you talk to yourself or not, so do not bother to hide it. My senses are far too sharp for you to effectively hide it."
Hah'en said off-handedly, it really seemed like she didn't care whether or not Adryan spoke to himself. She then proceeded to answer his question normally.
"I enjoy it when I succeed in my work optimally and truly earn my paycheck. I do not need to find further enjoyment in my job."
Yes, Hah'en's answer was bit cold, but it was the truth. And she wasn't going to share her doubts about her employment with this man, Hah'en would hesitate to share such information even if he was her friend and trusted confidant of many years.

Nux erupted in laughter inside Adryan's head. "She thinks you talk to yourself! Good going ace!" Adryan shook his head and covered his ears as if someone was yelling, because to him, Nux was. He then looked back over to Hah'en and shook his head slightly.

"It isn't that. I'm not talking to myself. Not exactly. Uh...I'm a vessel. I have something..."

Nux made a sound similar to clearing his throat.

"Sorry...someONE inside me."

Adryan didn't really know how else to describe it to someone. How everything had happened. Plus he wasn't really wanting to go into that at the moment. He merely gave a shrug and continued walking.

"Well that's good I guess."

It was strange to the thief to just be happy to do your job as best you could and make money. Adryan did what he did because he enjoyed the thrill. The case. The Heist.

He had someone inside him? That sounded like...
"So...you are possessed?"
Hah'en asked, one of the few questions she had ever asked from the thief. She berated herself for not considering the possibility of possession. Hah'en hadn't been aware that the phenomena existed here as well. In her world possession wasn't exactly common, but sometimes you ran into individuals that were possessed by evil spirits or ghosts or other such entities that needed a host body. Hah'en herself had been tempted by evil spirits, they had promised her power and servitude and new abilities. She had naturally turned it all down, she had no need for such things.
But Hah'en could see Adryan saying yes to such an offer.

"Oohhh...she's talking about me."

Nux sounded excited. He loved having the attention on him, and it drove him mad that Adryan had to let him take control to talk to people.

"Yea. Bluntly, but yea I'm possessed."

Adryan sighed a little bit thinking about how things had happened. It hadn't really been voluntary for either party, but had honestly worked out well for the both of them.

"He's very vocal at times, and it's just easier to block him out and refocus if I actually answer him instead of just thinking it."

Adryan shrugged a little bit and looked over to Hah'en. She seemed to know a thing or two about possessions.

Adryan didn't seem too pleased about being possessed, he didn't brag or hint at making a deal with the spirit inside him. Perhaps Hah'en had made a mistake assuming the possession had been consensual. But Hah'en wasn't going to ask; if Adryan wanted to tell her he would.

"I see. I apologize for assuming you were merely talking to yourself."
Hah'en apologized, it seemed only appropriate since the assumption might've insulted Adryan. Their destination was approaching fast, and after 5 or so minutes of more walking Hah'en stopped in front of a pretty small restaurant, that looked more like an Italian themed diner.
"Here it is."
Hah'en stated, and entered without hesitation. She held the door open politely for Adryan and once they were inside she habitually went over to a corner table, from which she could have her back against the wall and see the front door and the entire restaurant. For surveillance purposes. Old habits die hard.
"I already know what I will order, go ahead and browse the menu at your own leisure."

"Oh you don't need to apologize. I try to turn away or lower my voice so people don't think I'm getting snippy with them."

He chuckled a little bit. Nux really only spoke up around others to get on Adryan's nerves. When it was the two of them they would actually talk at length about things.

"He's surprisingly good company when he's not being a dick."

They had arrived at the restaurant of her choosing after as little more walking. Adryan followed Hah'en inside and to the corner booth, sitting across the table from her. He luckily never had to worry about watching his back in that manner so the habit wasn't there.

Looking over the menu briefly Adryan decided on what he would get. He was curious what she wasd going to order and smiled across the table to her after lowering his menu.

"Think I'll go with the beef lasagna. What are you getting?"

"Instead they will think you are talking ill of them behind their back and not even doing it properly."
Hah'en commented with a small amused huff. Many people on the island had very good hearing, Hah'en included, to Adryan's efforts to hide his self-speaking were most probably in vain most of the time.

"He has...quite the personality."
Hah'en said, slightly taken aback, because she had never heard of an evil spirit that was as...sentient as Adryan was describing. In her world the evil spirits were very one-dimensional, they were created and born to do one malignant thing and they were solely focused on accomplishing that thing. They could talk and be quite persistent and charismatic, but in the end weren't capable of proper communication. You couldn't have a conversation with them. At least Hah'en had only encountered evil spirits like that.

"I will be getting shrimp fra diavolo."
Hah'en said curtly, pronouncing the Italian perfectly. She had noticed that her native language had a similar tone as Southern European languages, so even though Hah'en didn't know any of them she could always pronounce their words like she was a native speaker.
Just as Hah'en told Adryan her choice the waiter came, and Hah'en repeated the order to him. The waiter smiled, saying "So the usual then" with a chuckle, proceeded to take Adryan's order and then swiftly returned to the kitchen.
"The service is pleasant here as well."
Hah'en commented nonchalantly, as she poured herself water from the pitcher that had been brought to them.

"Ohhhh she likes me!" Nux retorted to Adryan before he had a chance to respond to her. "let me talk to her." Adryan shook his head and looked to the wall momentarily.

"No she doesn't. She doesnt know you, and no you aren't ruining this."

Rolling his eyes Adryan turned back to Heh'en and smiled to her. At this point she would have known what was going on so he wasn't too worried about it.

"If someone thinks I'm talking behind their back while right next to them I feel sorry for them with how paranoid they are."

He gave a slight shrug as the waiter came up and smiled to them. Hearing that Hah'en had apparently been here frequently he twisted his lips approvingly as he ordered. Adryan did take note of how nearly flawless her accent was.

"Your accent is impeccable."

Hah'en made a decision not to comment on everything that Adryan said to himself. The words were essentially strictly between him and the...entity inside him, so it would be like commenting on a private conversation as a bystander. But Hah'en did allow herself a brow raise when Adryan turned back to her. Ruining what exactly?
"Occasionally I think being slightly more paranoid would do you some good."
Hah'en commented back on Adryan's statement, drinking the water she had poured herself.

At Adryan's comment about Hah'en's accent she merely shook her head, sipped her water, and then answered calmly
"I do not speak Italian. My native language merely has similar traits to it."
Hah'en felt strange about mentioning her own native language, and slightly fearful. Adryan might very well keep asking about it, and if Hah'en started talking about Ovaali that could connect to her old world and life. Hah'en and Adryan weren't nearly close enough for her to be sharing such information.
Perhaps Hah'en was too paranoid...
