Scarlet took a sip of her Pepsi before she notcied the paint on one of her nails was chipped. "Dang! Now I have to fix it when I just painted them this morning." She darkly muttered outloud.
The waitress approached with their meals and set them onto the table before lighting the candles and leaving to attend to her other tables again. Ivan grinned. "Bon appetit." He said.
Scarlet smiled, took up her fork and began twisting the noodles around her fork. After she took a bite she commented as if surprised, "This is really good!"
Ivan chuckled. "I hoped you'd think so." He replied. This is what made it all worth it for Ivan: Scarlet having a good time. He bit into a forkful of lasagna.
Ivan chuckled. He was glad that Scarlet felt comfortable enough around him to reach out and take a bite of his dinner. "If you like my dinner more, we could trade." He suggested. It didn't matter to him what he ate, so long as he was around Scarlet.
Scarlet nodded. Right before she handed him her plate she took another bite. "How old are you?" She asked suddenly. She didn't care how old he was, she was just wondering.
Ivan ate the last bite and sat back again. "I am now." He answered as the waitress approached with the bill. Ivan blinked. This sum would have been devastating... if he didn't work there and get his meals at half price. He showed the waitress his badge that marked him as an employee and payed for the meal. "Thank you for coming!" The waitress said cheerfully, and left. "What do you want to do now?" Ivan asked. The waitress returned with a pair of dessert menus.
