Female presenting Toby. She wears body changing earrings.

Pretty fashion baby.

Toby as a greaser in the VR ICC event. Art by @Poppy!

Dressed up in costume for the Corn Maze ICC event, punking people by pretending to be a scarecrow guardian.
Toby is on the shorter side (for this island's population, that is) at five feet seven inches tall, and his build is slight, with narrow shoulders and a slim figure. He stands up straight and makes sure to leave an strong impression despite being small, and nobody could ever claim he lacks the character to make up for it. With his quirks, occasional huffy tantrums, and fluffiness, some might say he resembles a ferret-- and the nickname is used both endearingly and insultingly. There's a bounce in his step and certain small-animal hyperactivity that contributes to this impression.
He has soft ash blond hair (hairstyle depending on the day, though a constant is the fluff), slim eyebrows, pale golden eyes with heavy bags under them, a very cute upturned button nose, a more subtle wiry muscle to his body type, lovely blue glasses, and pierced ears. The scent of smoke clings to him, and he's often seen with a cigarette in casual settings, but doesn't have an addiction. He's pretty, and extremely androgynous.
As an artist in many forms, particularly fashion and makeup, Toby loves to dress himself up in sharp, sparkly, and self-made looks. He'll wear light makeup (eyeshadow, mascara, lip gloss) and make sure to look stylishly far above average on a daily basis. In more formal settings, Toby leans closer to displaying high fashion ideals, with a taste for celestial aesthetics (a nod towards his wife, who happens to be his muse). When sneaking around, he'll be the complete opposite, boring in looks and unnoticeable-- he's a costume expert, and can switch around his appearance to best suit his intentions without blinking. At home and in other places he can get away with it, he refuses to wear shoes and socks.
Toby has a bit of a raspy voice, which can be grating, but it's usually adorably tinged with passion, or simply on the quiet side. In rare situations, it can be loud and unsettlingly giddy. He has an accent, but try to talk to him about Jersey Shore and he'll probably hold an eternal grudge against you.
Personality Description
Most know Tobias York as very skilled in what he does, but quirky in and outside of that, a slightly off man who probably collects serial killer memorabilia in his free time-- able to get away with a lot through being a brilliant artist. He's been a horror enthusiast since a young age, and has many artistic inspirations based around playing with concepts like evil, imperfection, complication, and the overall morbid.
When storytelling, he can really explore the depths of these themes. Considering his status as a literal, living personification of human evil, this isn't overly surprising. And he happens to despise being human, and all of his kin in that. Toby loves monsters! And more than just monsters in the mental and actions sense. Everything wrong, scaly, clawy, bitey and bloody he'll go wild gushing over and trying to fill his creations with. At his core Toby is extremely sensitive. Part of his motivation to roll in unpleasantness is to gain a control over it, rather than to simply suffer at random when exposed to it, to be weak-- he hates that, and hates himself within it. He'd take being a perpetrator or delighting in it over being a victim and crying from it any day. That's why he's taught himself to lean towards the former.
His fascination with costume work started with this obsession. Previously, Toby used his skillset to imitate and set up monster related crimes for others to be victim to or stumble upon. If they knew it was all done by a simple human either dressing up or playing elaborate tricks, it might be even scarier than something done by a physical monster. After years of doing this without detection, however, he gave it up for a more promising future with his other, more personal ambitions, and by the side of his wife. He's not clean, but he's behaving. Where he used to pretend to be a monster as a form of coping, he's healthy enough that it's no longer as pressing.
Toby is very prone to obsession in most things. Whether a project, monster, or interesting fictional story, he can hyperfocus to a ridiculous extent. He used to screw around with stalking multiple people (and had a real talent for it), but has settled into only following the constant activity of his wife, unless it's part of their private investigator work. He'll still look into people out of caution/curiosity, or fuck with them if they get in his way, but without the same romantic aspect he'd found in it before.
He has nearly no barrier between his positive and negative emotions felt towards the general population, and can feel disgust or hatred towards a friend along with care and investment, or jump from one to another very fast, playing into his volatile mood swings. The exception to this is his wife.
Toby really likes attention, and it doesn't matter if it's negative or positive. Getting reactions out of others is a hobby of his, he has a lot of curiosity around such things. Impulsive and easily bored without projects, obsessions, or stimulation, Toby pokes at anything and everything to see what'll happen-- but he's more cautious on how he does that these days.
He's only barely grasped the concept of consequences in his adult life, and had to figure it out and have it sink in over most of his childhood. The only thing that'll make him pause are some threats to his wife, job, store, or freedom, which is why he does try to be sneaky, isolate his interactions with people he gets too heavily involved with, and not leave behind incriminating things (outside of his apartment). The best way to get to him is with his spouse, because other threats are usually seen as inconveniences.
Toby has a certain gracefulness when working on his projects or ambitions. He's very intelligent, thinks outside the box, and can play mastermind extremely well. He's also a huge, ridiculous dork around horror, costume, makeup, and film/general fiction geekery. If you get him going on one of these topics, he'll ramble, gush, and get very animated.
Powers/Species traits
Immortality and Rapid Regeneration
Immortality and Rapid Regeneration
This is Toby's only power. There's no enhanced strength, no pain resistance whatsoever, nothing. He's just not one hundred percent destructible, can heal, and seems to have stopped aging. He'll avoid terminal and long term illnesses, able to get them and their full symptoms (internal, infectious sicknesses are harder and more confusing than clearly outwardly based trauma), but only for a week at the most before his body rejects it and reverts.
You can hurt him plenty, and he'll feel it, but his body will fix him up again. However, this is pretty damn painful too, significantly with larger wounds, because it's such a forced and blatantly unnatural healing process around sensitive nerves and flesh. It doesn't look pretty in the slightest, obscene and gross in nature, wrong.
Cuts and scrapes will disappear in seconds, something like a quick stab would take five minutes or more, and larger things will be an hour and up. Toby's body will attempt to temporarily heal around weapons if they're still in him, which isn't fun. You can put holes through Toby and wear him down to a surprising, unsettling extent, but can't fully detach any body parts from him- no matter what, there'll always be a little bit left.

Toby was born into an upper middle class, sunny neighborhood- where everyone's lawns were perfect, and the children went out daily to play with each other without worry of any danger. The easy to exploit environment didn't exactly help with nurturing his darker nature.
Toby at a young age was a runt of kid with an innocent, if fairly blank in expression, face and pretty blond hair. His mother spoiled him ridiculously and brushed off any odder behavior, letting him do and be what he pleased. The two of them were close, too close, and he always felt as though something was just a little wrong. She never truly did anything to him at this time, aside from cuddling him a bit too often, focusing in on him, talking about adult matters too much, and making him feel that instinctual discomfort. His father worked, and that was about it in terms of what he did.
If other parents had any concerns about him, they were usually washed away by how his mother gushed over him, and that he was rather quiet, likely just shy, and only weirder due to that. They encouraged their children to be inclusive of him and empathize, and scolded them when they saw them leaving him out or not making an effort. This wasn't supposed to be that kind of community, after all.
Toby didn't like the other children, or being bothered. It was annoying. He didn't like people in general. He liked his mother, staying up to watch late night television, and reading goosebumps books. He once got into his father's secret collection of magazines, stole a few for himself, and enjoyed those as well. They were interesting, and gave him new things to think about.
Toby started to hurt other children for fun and out of curiosity, getting more bold and less self absorbed as time went on. Detail won't be gone into there. They didn't tell anyone, and Toby didn't get in trouble. He'd become the neighborhood darling with the adult population, a little angel, a good, smart boy. He was his mother's trophy. He had no end of freedom and praise until he'd gotten a girlfriend at around twelve years old, and her parents caught an attempt between the two to experiment with more adult things.
The outrage and discomfort turned public, and Toby's family had to move. The place they went was far less pleasant. Through Toby's teen years there, his father came home less and less, growing bitter towards being stuck with his strange child and modest wife, as well as their moving. He had affairs.
At one point, while Toby's mother was out with friends but he was at home sick, his father was so drunk he'd brought one of the women home with him. Their home. Toby was both disgusted and fascinated, but more importantly, had a sense of loyalty and care for the only person he'd liked for this long-- his mother. He was offended by his father's actions and lack of appreciation for her.
Instead of chewing his father out directly or telling his mother, he decided to get closer to her instead, and to comfort her for his father's general absence and lack of attraction to her. It was only fair, in his mind. Things went on like this for a long while- until his father lost his job.
The man was getting old and unappealing. Previously, he'd bought the women he spent time with gifts and taken them to expensive restaurants, but he couldn't do that now. He had a new, shitty job, and was suspicious and angry when his previously docile wife wouldn't sleep with him. He couldn't stand for this, and blew up at her, accusing her of becoming that kind of girl, ungrateful and pitiful.
Toby came home from school to her being screamed at, ashamed and in tears. Toby felt a great deal of condescension towards this human hypocrisy, and put his father's secrets out in the open, along with his own version of payback, revealing just who his wife had been fucking for all this time and mocking him with it. His mother was, unfortunately, only more devastated, and his father reacted violently. He was a big man, and it wasn't hard for him to get to Toby, despite how superior and smug the boy had been acting.
It was the first true edge of death situation Toby had been in, and along with the horrible situation, it woke something up in him. While his father had gone on to kill his mother, he healed. It was painful, just as much if not more than the act of being nearly murdered, and the sounds he made were assumed to be those of slowly dying rather than living.
The regeneration wasn't fast enough for him to save his mother, or even get up and attack his father. The police came after their neighbors heard all the noise and called the police, and the man was taken to jail. Toby very much should've been dead with the way his body had been screwed up, that was clear to those who saw him.
With two parents gone and Toby not quite yet eighteen, he was unsure where he'd go from there. Then, he received a letter, an invitation. He left for Manta Carlos without a second thought.
Toby finished up highschool in Manta Carlos, and within that time was when his obsession with monsters truly settled into him and went to extreme lengths. He'd already had experience going through elaborate stunts and projects to scare and hurt others, and turned this into a specific passion.
In college, he went for a double major of Costume Design and Make up Artist Specialist, both spreading out a bit with his skillset (something that'd help him in later keeping up a vaguely normal front and income) and getting more involved in his now top, most solid obsession. His college roommate Jett was his first real friend, or their version of it anyway, and they got up to a lot of shenanigans and garbage together.
He dreamed of opening up a store straight out of college, both due to actually loving such things and as a good front, and did so. He also ended up being snatched up by the local higher end quality TV station for his talents, and has been working both there and independently for years. Alongside of that, he continued to commit various monster imitation crimes.
Early 2016, Toby got tangled up with a detective by the name of Felix Verma, after picking up on his being similarly brainweird, and started to-- in his own, odd little way-- court him. Felix became his favorite to stalk and spend time with, his muse, and someone who Toby didn't feel hate towards. After going through a lot together over the short time they'd known each other, Felix trying to leave by plane turned into them getting married out of nowhere. Now, they live together and are both far healthier.
Toby has grown since getting married, and is now behaving far better in public circles (but even minimizing his crimes privately) in hope that he can follow some of his other, previously pushed aside dreams and believe in a more real, settled life for himself. He wants to explore the world of fashion design, writing, and horror fiction more, and to support his wife properly.
