Class was over and Gabe moved quickly out of the classroom. He had a feeling in his stomach that today was going to be the day. Yuki was hanging out with Katie and Carmin's plan was a solid one. Yuki makes a new friend, tabloid gets left on new friend's door. It seemed so obvious in hindsight, but Gabe had been... distracted. He couldn't help the smile that formed briefly at the thought of his newly gained romantic interest, but he had to focus now. Whoever was doing this was going down in the worst kind of way. Between Ganymede and himself, Gabe felt confident in catching this mysterious troublemaker. And after everything got answered, he had an inkling that he could reach out to the MCPD and get someone investigating further. Perhaps a certain blond officer he had met once before?

Quickly moving down the hall, Gabe's sneakers skid against the carpet as he came to a stop at the end of the hallway near Katie's door. Now all he had to do was wait for Gany, wait for some kind of approach from someone who shouldn't be in the area, and they were getting constricted in as many vines as it took to get some answers.

I'm hoping that Kait and I get a little one on one with Gabe and Gany before we hop into this thing full swing so if possible, give us a few posts?

Soon, Gabe would notice a cat-person in the girls' uniform walking over to him. Said cat-person looked almost exactly like Ganymede, and in fact it was Ganymede, but that didn't stop people from failing to recognize him every now and again.

He smiled and waved to Gabe as he got closer, then leaned against the wall next to him, looking back down the hallway towards Katie's door.

Ganymede's attempts at scrying Yuki's foes had been a bust. To be fair to him, he didn't have very much to go off of, but it still felt bad not to be useful. He saw Yuki and the circle of friends around them as a cabal of sorts, just like his old master the warlock used to be a part of. And just like what he had seen around him growing up, times like these could prove one's loyalty to their circle and to each other. He would be Yuki's shield, his looking-glass, his dagger in the night.

This would make his friendship with Yuki and the others real.

Gabe tilted his head as Ganymede approached in a girl's uniform. Was Gany a girl this whole time and he didn't even know? Or did Gany just like wearing women's clothing? He was very confused but it wasn't any of his business. Ganymede was a good friend to Yuki and slowly but surely becoming a friend of his as well. He gave a small wave, cracking his knuckles out of habit. It wasn't a great habit to have, since he would do it back in Halcyon before doing less than nice things.

But this was important.

He had to remain strong in case things went south fast. In case this person tried to start a fight.. Gabe didn't start this fight, but he would absolutely finish it if it got to that point. "Alright, Gany... are you ready for this? I'm... nervous about what might happen here, I won't lie."

"I'm nervous too," Ganymede admitted. "But don't mistake that for a lack of resolve."

Ganymede ran through the plan in his head again. They spot the person responsible for this, use Gany's ghost mode to follow them for a while, and either ambush them when they're alone or just find out their identity and where they live. Nothing they hadn't already discussed.

Gabe came from some kind of world with superheroes and supervillains. Ganymede knew that much, and it made him think. "...This is gonna sound weird, but I think my master from before I came here might have been something like a supervillain." Building on common ground. Normal conversation. "I've stopped thinking he was a good guy by now, though."

It occurred to him that this might make things a little awkward, if Gabe used to be a superhero.

Well, good to see that one of them felt resolve.

Gabe was beginning to think he should have called Angelo to help with this. This was starting to seem way over their head. What if it was some criminal gang actively targeting Yuki because of his last name? Some kind of mob group that would send people to attack them after taking down one of theirs? Gabe took a deep breath and exhaled, feeling the ever familiar pressure of a wooden mask settle over his face. It was just one more bad thing on the list. Even if it was for a good cause. Was this vigilantism? He didn't know how to feel anymore.

At Gany's comments, though, he frowned. Did Gany know Gabe used to be a bad guy? Was this some form of bonding attempt? Gabe gave a small sigh before looking to the smaller boy. "Well, supervillainy isn't all that it's cracked up to be. So, be thankful, I guess. We're doing something that's kind of questionable, so... yeah. But we're getting this done, one way or the other."

Gabe's hands began to grow a thick bark over them before vines sprouted and started growing at an accelerated rate before descending to the floor in coils. One more back up plan, just in case. "Hopefully this person shows up soon or I'm gonna stress out from the anxiety of waiting." Gabe joked, but he knew in the back of his mind he was kind of serious.

Hikaru headed down the hall, note in hand. He wasn't really sure why the smart-looking guy outside the gate had given him a note to pass on instead of just delivering the message to the academy or the guy at the gate, but he guessed it was urgent or something. After all, he'd wanted it delivered immediately.

Hikaru passed the doorway once or twice before finding it, and leaving the note right in front of it. He smiled to himself as he carried on his way, humming a happy song as he returned to his room on the way to report back to the guy - just needed to pick up his portable charger so he could head out to town again. He was glad he'd been able to do someone a favor - helping out people in need made you feel better about yourself, and kinda accomplished. Like when you finish a side quest in a game. He knew that he'd get a reward for it later. Karma was something he was big on. Do good, get good stuff. Pranks were an exception, since they were just for fun and didn't hurt anyone. Not properly, anyway.

Katie

Katie and Yuki were making their way back to the dorms after what had been, for all intents and purposes, a great afternoon. They'd gone to a cafe of Yuki's selection, and shared some sundae's and tea while talking about life on the island. Katie had enjoyed it, and it seemed like Yuki had as well.

Finally arriving back at her dorm, Katie was a little disappointed that the day had come to an end. "Thank you Yuki. I had a lot of fun today!" Katie said as they approached her door. "But I guess this is goodbye for now!" she said, as she waved by and stepped on a piece of paper?

Looking down to her feet, sure enough there seemed to be a note of some kind, though it was nondescript so Katie couldn't quite tell who it was from. Picking it up, she headed inside her dorm.

There he was! The guy who was leaving the notes!

The adrenaline hit Ganymede hard. He almost jumped when he realized what was happening, then he wordlessly nudged Gabe to make sure he noticed. A small, shaky catboy hand reached down to wrap its fingers around Gabe's. Then, to the outside world, they vanished.

For Gabe, everything except for Ganymede would seem colorless, blurry and distorted. Just like the last time Ganymede brought him into this state. Now they were following him, invisible, unseen, able to phase through any wall or person they needed to.

"I think he's a student," Ganymede observed. "So, he'll probably go back to his dorm soon. I think." He was focused and serious, but bursting with a breathless nervous energy. He looked back up at Gabe, making sure they were on the same page. Or maybe he was looking for moral support? He didn't know anymore at this point. It felt surreal.

Gabe clamped his jaw tight as he saw the red-haired boy pinning up the note.

Whoever this guy was, he was about to get hurt really bad. Stalking around, leaving harmful notes, making his partner suffer with bouts of anxiety? It was going to be rough unless he got some satisfying answers. The nudge distracted him temporarily and he looked to Ganymede before the two entered that distorted viewpoint once again. It always made Gabe feel a little uncomfortable in this bubble; the world just didn't seem right.

"I think he is too. Okay, here's the plan. We'll follow him to his dorm room and I'll talk to him to figure out what this thing is supposed to be. When we do this, we don't use our names, we don't give anything away, and most importantly..." He took a deep breath, audibly gulping as they followed along. "You have to promise to not tell Yuki about this if it goes... less than favorable. I'm going to get answers from this guy, one way or another. It might go bad. If it does, please don't mention it to him."

His face seemed to distort as wood began to form around his face and spread to cover his entire head in a wooden cover. It appeared almost that Gabe was no longer a human but instead a walking being made of wood and plant life. He turned to Gany with a solemn nod, his new helm totally devoid of the usual softness his face carried.

"Do you have a mask of some kind, Gany?"

Failure in matters like this could be punished harshly. Ganymede had seen this with his own two eyes, had grown up around it. He didn't think Yuki would do anything like what his late master had done, but he needed little convincing. "It will be our secret." He nodded solemnly.

Gabe's transformation was impressive. He even looked kind of like that one superhero, from the marvel movie Ganymede had seen posters for. Maybe Gabe had been a superhero himself!

"I... hadn't even thought about bringing a mask..." Ganymede seemed a little ashamed of himself. "I should have realized a disguise would come in handy... maybe I can stay invisible, and only come out if you call for me. But call me 'Nemo' if you do." That was the name Odysseus gave to Cyclops as he was escaping. It was the first thing that came to his mind.
