Private Time Out

"Naaaaaaah," He eventually said, shrugging his shoulders. "It's a good thing to be thinking about, y'know? I mean, I'm from a big pack, so it's not often one of us can't get help, but I'd probably end up thinking similarly if I were in your situation.

He eventually came to a stop along the path, tugging his jacket around him a bit tighter in the nights breeze.

"But like I said, no one's gonna think your dumb. It was just a stupid charity tournament anyway, right"?

"Well, you better not hate it too much. This whole competition is gonna get real awkward if you start getting all mopey every time I beat your ass."

It took him a moment to notice what she was doing, his eyes narrowing as he put two and two together. He mirrored her look, letting the jacket hang more loosely.

"Oh, speaking of losing, you do not wanna play this game of chicken."

"What? Sorry, I missed what you were saying because I was thinking about how I won."

Barty shrugged his jacket off, before shooting her grin.

"Now, lemme do you one better."

And without another word, he shifted into his wolf form, dropping onto all fours. He looked to her, somehow managing to keep a smug look on his muzzle, showing off the black fur coating his body.

"Fuck yeah it is." The words rumbled out of his long muzzle, sounding much rougher than usual, his wolf tongue clearly not built for human speech. "If your oni shit counts then my wolf shit counts. Sorry, them's the rules."

He trotted along beside her, tail wagging happily behind him even as he bantered with her.

"Buuuut, I'll be generous and leave it at that. Wouldn't want me having two up on you in a moment of weakness, right?"
