Adeloise watched at him as he spoke, weighing each word he said. There were monsters in the forest--creatures who were people once but now changed for the worse. Her curious look slowly turned into a scowl. She honestly never believed that people could lose it so much as to lose their humanity. She's met many ghosts in her age but all of them, even disembodied were all so human. Could there be a being that could be so... dangerous?

This island really opens your eyes, he continued.

Does it really?, she wanted to ask, but she turned her eyes to her guardians, both having worried looks on them. Did they believe this man? They probably do, by the looks of it. Adeloise didn't want to. There can't really be such a thing, would there? She didn't know much about supernatural things past her knowledge of ghosts but it was really hard to imagine.

"Adeloise, you should probably listen to the guy. He knows what he's talking about," said Adrien. His voice was light and warm, and not his usual playful tone. That didn't sit well with the younger girl.

She turned to look at Alex who still stood in front of her. He was really nice, even as to warn her about the dangerous things of the island. "What about you mister? Why are you in the forest instead of the city?" She bit her tongue--that must have sounded rude. "Are you looking for something?" she managed to add.

Alexander grinned again in reply to her question. "I'm just not a city guy. Too many things going on at once, I can't relax like that. I do take a trip to the blood bar now and then to make some money, but most of the time I just walk around in these parts." Alex liked that the girl listened. He liked to share knowledge with the young.

Something suddenly dawned upon Alex, and he said "Hey, if you promise to be a good student, I could take you to the graveyard! For someone who can see ghosts, that's gotta be like a field trip, right?" Alex generally stayed away from the graveyard as it was outside of his territory, and he had no business there. But he had stumbled upon it a few times while exploring the woods.

Alexander's responce had Adeloise throw a glance to Stella who had been nodding understandingly. She'd have to ask her what was their deal with city life being 'so busy' because she'd never had problems about it. Not yet, maybe.

Adeloise had a thoughtful look on her when Alexander spoke again, speaking of the graveyard. To no surprise, a wide toothy grin was her response. "Oh my gosh, really?!" she squeaked, bouncing on her toes at the idea of it. She wanted to see more ghost. She could never go to cemeteries back at home--mainly because she gets caught every single time she tried. She had a feeling her ghost friends had something to do with it--but that was neither here nor now.

She was too happy right now to even care. "I would love to go there!!" Adeloise had an earsplitting grin on her, with her hands clamped together in front of her in such a child-like manner. "Okay, okay! I'll do my best! I'll be a great student! I'll even get A's on all my tests! So please, oh please, you'll promise to go there with me when I keep mine, okay!?"

"Now, now, hold on. You don't have to get straight A's. Just promise to take your studies seriously. If you pass the first tests of all your classes then that's good enough. Another condition, however, is that your guardians allow it." Alexander looked around, not quite sure of their location, but his guesses were uncannily accurate. At least he was looking in almost the right direction. "It seems I can't really talk with them, though."

"Okay, okay..." Adeloise tried to find her calm. As long as she passes her first tests? Sure, she could definitely do that! A piece of cake — first tests were always easier than the later ones. As for the second condition...

Adeloise looked at Alexander first; watching him looking around until he stopped at one side. Had he been looking for them? That was awfully considerate of him--Adeloise knew he was a nice man. There was a warm smile on Adeloise's face when she turned to her companions. She'd already expected the dissatisfied look on Stella while Adrien nodded at her.

"Adrien says it's fine!" she chirped. "Though I guess it would have been better for you to hear that from either of them," she added, a little thoughtful. It wasn't like she's never done it before and she knew the two enough to trust they won't do anything that shouldn't be done.

"Actually... you can actually talk with them," she began. She glanced at the two ghosts with them for a second before turning to flash a smile at Alexander. "Would you like to talk to the grumpy old lady or the funny old man?" Alexander wouldn't have been able to hear the scream of protest from the two spirits.

At first, when Adeloise looked to her companions, Alexander followed her eyes analyzingly, like an animal. He did not like the presence of someone he could not find... not at all. After having estimated their position, he unconsciously focused all his senses there. To no avail, of course.

When she claimed that he could talk to them, Alex raised an eyebrow. Really? How? - he thought. But he had seen stranger things, so he just accepted it and did not voice any questions. "The grumpy one seems more likely to have something to say, I'd assume." He sat down with his legs crossed, hands resting on his knees. "I'm ready" he declared.

Adeloise puffed her cheeks up thoughtfully, "Alrighty! I'll let you meet Stella then," she chirped. She took a step back, with almost a skip in her step, nodding back to her companions. Alexander didn't have the luxury to see the frown Stella had on her face at the moment. No worries, Adeloise thought, he'd probably see that later.

Adeloise turned to Alexander one last time, watching him sat down with crossed legs, before she closed her eyes. She spread her arms wide open and took a deep breath. There was a stillness in the forest for a good few seconds before her head bobbed forward, arms falling down with it. Her eyes were open when she raised her head, lost of their green-color in favor of an unfamiliar brown.

She didn't push her hair aside when she approached Alexander, stopping just right in front of him. "Adeloise" leaned forward so their gaze met, hands at her hips. "You picked the right choice bub, because I got conditions to dish out if you're taking our kid out on spooky walks before we go on a vengeance spree unlike that other guy," she spoke, her speech noticeably different from earlier.

"And for the record, I'm not an old lady." The real Adeloise would have retorted to this if she were conscious.

Alexander's ear twitched involuntarily as the stillness settled in. He had no positive experiences of such silences... but he remained still. That is, until the old lady got a little too close. Alex leaned backwards sligthly as Stella got within his personal space. He sniffed subtly in her direction, subconsciously curious if there was any difference in scent after possession. He narrowed his eyes when Stella spoke. He replied: "What are your conditions, Guardian?" He did not break eye contact.

Stella quirked a smirk from out of Adeloise's soft features. It was clearly out of place, even for someone who's only met the girl once. "Call me Stella." Other than the mannerisms, there weren't any other clear indication she was any different, but there was a very mild scent of old medicine that stayed unnoticeable to most.

"They're very simple really," she started, finally pulling away from the man and resorting to pacing in front of him. "First thing is, obviously, I require you to protect her. Adrien and I can keep spirits away but physical creatures are beyond our control in our usual states. You, sir, will be the one watching her back," she said.

"Adeloise is reckless and stupidly curious. You're gonna have a hard time reigning her in so please at best try and keep trouble away from her." Stella had been the only one to have the honor of hearing Adrien's restrained chuckles.

"You also have to make sure that Adeloise gets back to the dorms safe and in one piece. Regardless of the fact that Adrien and I will be there, we still can't keep her completely safe if you're taking a walk this far out from the city."

Stella stopped her pacing and turned to Alexander with a grave look, "We'd really prefer that you don't keep her out late. She's not going to listen to us but try and convince her not to be there after midnight. Can I trust you on that?"

Alex listened patiently as the granny explained precisely what he had expected. The only thing he paid extra attention was the notion of keeping trouble away from the child instead of the other way around. It did make sense, in a way. "I will protect her physically, should anything happen. However, I must inform you that I am of little use if magic is involved." 'I am just a man' he added in his thoughts. "I really doubt we'll run into any malicious casters, though." He rose up and put his hands in his pockets. "As for bringing her home again, I don't plan on taking her there at night, ghosts don't sleep do they? There ought to be just as many there in broad daylight, I reckon. I was thinking a trip between mid-day and dinner time, roughly. Does she like pizza, by the way?" Alex grinned. He had the perfect trip planned. Anything that ended with pizza was a master plan to him. His love for Italian food shone through very clearly.
