"Oh hey-" Aedes looks to Andrasta, mortified at what she was wearing. Did did she ruffle through a bag of clothing destined for 2nd hand market in some sort of undeveloped country? A blouse AND jeans? Oh and lets not ignore the travesty that is sneakers to a dance.

"Woah! You look... you are looking bold." It was the only "nice" thing she could say to Andrasta in front of her face. But anyone who comes wearing attire like that is certainly making a statement against... something. Authority? Good tastes perhaps? Moving on the subject of her... date... Aedes looked to Hugo, then back to Andrasta.

"But yes I am looking as great as always. Him? He is just some dweeb whom I agreed to go the dance with. Just as friends of course." stated Aedes as she puts on a smug smirk.

Lizardman-Tril, fresh off their snack label hiding caper and noisily chomping down on something meaty, scuttled their way further into the room and away from the entrance. Still trying to see if there were interesting things to see or faces to steal. They weren't stupid enough to think they would be able to stay too long in a place like this. They were already feeling on edge and troubled.

They did however notice a very tall person hiding in the corner. With many eyes. Good enough for now. Tril made their way over and swallowed the last of whatever snack they had grabbed. "Yes, hi. You have an interesting face," they whispered towards the statuesque figure with their eyes closed.

Micha knew he should approach someone. If he returned home to his dads to say, "I stood around doing nothing and eating away my sorrows," his heart would be broken at the sounds of their disappointment.

Several times Micha tried to move his legs and just... talk to someone. Preferably someone who was left alone. He almost succeeded a few times. Each time someone beat him to his target because he waited too long. So instead of him doing the approaching, he got approached.

And... was he being flirted with? To think someone besides his dads would compliment him. But perhaps he misheard. The lizard spoke at too low of a volume to be sure.

"Uh, thank you," he blurted out, forgetting the warnings about fae. His cheeks had reddened as he fumbled for his next words. "Your scales look very pretty. I'm." He paused to swallow some spit. "I'm Micha Sauer."

Tril grinned wide and then shifted to have multiple eyes like Micha. Though still having to look up to talk to them. Tril didn't feel like being very tall at the moment. "Yes, i'm Tril. Scales are fun to have."

They glanced furtively around the room and then looked back up at him. "Why are you here in the corner? Are people you don't like here? You look like me when I want to leave a place." They snickered quietly but quickly looked around the room again. Their own nerves actually acting up as well.

People suddenly changing appearance was no surprise to Micha. It was still weird seeing those who could do it so fluidly without preparation, however, and his eyes widened just a little.

"Huh? Oh. I'm new here, so, uh, I haven't made a lot of close friends yet. I know some people here. I just, uh. Yeah, I just don't want to get in anyone's way. My dads mostly made me come." After responding, he guessed his answer to be summed up with, "Yeah, I kind of want to leave." He didn't really want to, he just felt completely out of his depths.

Tril snickered quietly again as they noticed Micha's reactions. They were clearly... Young? New? Naive? Something like that. But Tril wasn't really in the mood to make things too rough on them so they didn't act all creepy like they could have.

"Yes, people always get weird about making a bunch of friends right away. But the corners can be fun too. From here you can... well, you can probably see a lot more than me because you are tall. Lots of faces to see here." They smiled and wiggled their clawed fingers at a person passing by.

"Getting in the way is a good way to make someone talk to you though. Can't ignore you if you pop up right in their face." More quiet snickering from the bad advice lizard with too many eyes.

Hugo looked between the Aedes and Andrasta. He sighed but gave Andrasta a friendly wave. Maybe they were the ones who should've loosened up a little bit. Hugo moved a little forming a little and out of Aedes view but in full view of Andrasta, "Yeah we're just here as 'friends' gonna cut loose and have fun."

The little hand made the air quotes gesture as he said the word friends before vanishing. "I guess we're gonna strut around like peacocks a bit longer before we get out there and kill it on the dance floor."

Orsick probably went a little overboard picking out something to wear to the ball. Red, black, and gold were the standard Drakenhardt colors. It wasn't until a couple days before the dance that he realized he had nothing thematically appropriate. He was still trying not to go too overboard though. He didn't want his girlfriend to feel inadequate because of him. That said either way he looked at it there wasn't much winning. All the advice he received was "go to have fun, and it won't matter what you're wearing". That came from the family's fashionable fashion disaster himself, Vega.

That didn't do much to alleviate the stress, but Vega did also help him put together a more casual, and thematically appropriate outfit. He was wearing a lilac colored button up, a suit jacket with a hint of gold trim, and a pair of black dress pants. His shoes were a nicer pair of walking shoes that managed to go with the outfit. He saw Andrasta's text, he was checking his phone from a broom closet in the building. He messaged her back, telling her he was on his way.

He spotted Andrasta, making his way over to her. She was super under dressed, and that was putting it nicely. That was the point he realized he didn't really care what she was wearing so much as what kinds of things people were saying to her.

He saw Aedes and her date- wait Aedes nabbed a date? Miracles did happen, this was a magic island after all. "Well we're not here as friends. We're a couple," he cut in to the conversation. "And of course it's bold. Andrasta is the best looking girl in the building, and you can't change my mind," he cut in taking her hand. That disgustingly cocky Drakenhardt grin was on his face.

Micha was ninety-nine percent sure that Tril's advice wasn't all that sound. "I'd have to squat down reeeal low to get into people's faces properly," he replied with an awkward laugh. His attempt at a joke in the face of what definitely couldn't be serious advice.

"I'm not worried about making a bunch of friends right away. I just wanna make my dads happy... Also the food here is really good. I don't want to give up that just yet."

Bold. Andrasta liked the sound of that. And she didn't expect Aedes to give such a nice compliment, either.

She was already smiling at that when Orsick butted in to layer it on even more. And he was looking sharp! With a lilac suit and everything!

Andrasta took his hand and affectionately bumped her hip into his, grinning ear to ear. "Thanks, guys." Truth be told, she was feeling a little bit less insecure about how she was dressed now - though she wasn't about to admit that she ever felt insecure in the first place.

Damn it, now Orsick was making her all flustered, blushing and stuff. "You, uh, look really cool too, Orsick." It was disgusting.

Tril snickered heartily and shrugged. "I don't pretend to be good at making friends. But what I said is true. If you just want to talk to people you just do that." They looked away at the mention of making his dads happy though and shifted their scales to a deep red color.

"The food is good. But not labeled. I had to sniff around to figure out which was meat and which was those weird fake meats made of beans." Talk about a disappointment. Also a big fat lie. Tril was the one to hide the labels, and only after finding the choicest of snacks to nibble on.
