"No. That's not it."

A confused pair of cerulean eyes looked across the flimsy map it was looking over; legs pacing back and forth as eyes went to and fro from side to side hoping to find some landmark to figure out where to go. Her hands could only run through her brunette hair and scratch her scalp a little in her confusion, obviously not interested in taking too long to find her way.

“This is where long-term memory would actually come in handy.” She grumbled, barely heard by the passer-by groups of teenagers that made their way through the academy courtyard. It was obviously mid-noon, a time where most students would be out for lunch – and perhaps maybe a bit later the corridors would be a bit busier, as some students end up taking only half their day for school to do either part-time work, or just laze around.

Either way, it would seem that Grace was lost. Again. She could’ve sworn that she had been here for her work interview, and several other things – not to mention drawing some sort of map in her diary (which would probably be the only thing she kept remembering all throughout these horrible years. Almost thirteen years of writing every single moment of her life; it was a tedious project that she had only done to make sure she would remember events that she would consider important, but of course that was something that only helped for “important” matters.

Unfortunately, the small things in life that people tend to remember in passing were almost non-existent. Small, happy memories faded into her dreams and into the nothingness of her psyche as easily as those she would for those she would not want to remember either way.

If only this curse was curable only through science.

It was not.

Memory was purely the basis of her aura; the potential of never-ending knowledge, and the ability to learn just about anything that could be taught to another human being in a day the amount one would take to master in years of actual practice.

But of course, the price was… grave.

Walking around was a dangerous thing, and this very confused lady only went off the library from arranging her class records only to have forgotten her way back.

She left the library no less than half an hour ago.

Rolling her eyes upward in defeat, Grace folded the map in her hands hurriedly, stuffing it into her white coat’s pockets and taking out the small mini-diary she kept around for small notations and skimmed through her thoughts for the day. What should she remember?

Nothing in particular except the way back – if not to at least get her notes back and all the records that she’d hate to re-do at home. Adjusting her glasses, she looked around. The students were flocking out, excited for either a few hours or the rest of the day off schoolwork. It would be a very happy moment, if only she could only remember the smiles on their faces, and the look of teenagers walking hand in hand lovestuck and content.
“Ah, I feel old.” Crossing her arms, she looked behind her. The courtyard gardens were getting packed by groups of students doing their regular meet-ups underneath the shade of the trees to snack and do light studying.

Everything was set in place.

Where was she supposed to be again?

“… I seriously need to write things down.”

The snow had stopped in an unexpected surprise, and Aurora had taken the opportunity to leave the auditorium and step outside, if just for a moment. Despite the respite from the falling powder, the fact remained that the outside was still extremely cold, and what had fallen would probably stick to the ground for some time to come. That wasn't to say however that Aurora couldn't enjoy it.

Stepping into the cold, the mage made note that it was just after lunch time, and students were making their ways around the school, looking for their next classes, or even going back home, to clubs, or whatever else that they did in the meantime. Despite the activity, it was a strangely quiet period of time, muffled in part by the frozen flakes of water on the ground.

Aurora kicked a little snow back and forth in a bit of absence of mind, something that didn't come too often to her.

That said, apparently it was coming to someone else in the courtyard. Although many of the students moved with purpose, there was one that fell a tad short of that description. Or maybe a long way short: she looked to be honest, rather lost. Or maybe she was just waiting for someone? The crowds however seemed to be dissipating somewhat...and no one was going to meet her, confirming that she was in fact, probably lost. Well, Aurora was pretty good with directions at the very least.

"Excuse me, can I help you find something?"

She looked slightly familiar. Like she'd met her in passing before...she remembered these things, why was this one so difficult?

Now, forgetting about things that have not occurred yet – like Grace’s supposed return to the Library, amongst other responsibilities that slowly crept away from her conscious mind. The greatest sorrow of never remembering is never being given the chance to establish something a lot of people take for granted.

Too late was the realization that she had forgotten her coat in the library to regret the chill that ran through her body after her thoughts was thrown back in favor of a strong physiological need for warmth. Grace, nevertheless, stood defiantly in the snow in her long, doctor’s coat and typical outfit. Comfortable probably to last for a few more minutes until the chill would finally bother her a few minutes later; even so, there wasn’t much time to spare, and it wasn’t helping that she remembered little, if at all of what she was doing and what she was supposed to do.

The Doctor reached for her pocket, picking up one of the smaller versions of her diary, flipping through the pages to find the latest entry. What was she thinking around thirty minutes ago?

And then, a voice came to her aid. Looking up, it was a blonde female of sizable height with a strong gaze of gold. Grace just smiled, waving lightly with her diary. “I’m… not exactly sure what I’m trying to find. “ The brunette doctor said, “I’m about to find out, though. I have a hard time remembering anything.”

She continued flipping through the pages of her little diary, pausing at the entry that came about an hour ago and starting her search from there. Little bits and pieces of thoughts, scattered throughout the day, recorded every hour, by the hour, on the hour.

“I’m sorry if me standing here in the cold might have bothered you. I will be on my way soon.”
