Acting on pure autopilot now, Jazz leaned over to give Maddie a quick hug before standing and offering a hurried wave. "I'll, um, see you later then, and...y-yeah." After moving away from the couch, she first considered heading straight for the nearest door right away. However, after a few steps, she glanced back over to where Alma was, deciding to at least say something to her before leaving.

Stumbling a little as someone bumped into her, she steadily worked her way back over to her friend, waving a little to get her attention and shuffling over to rejoin her. "Um, h-hey, so..." Jazz rubbed a little at her arm, her brow lightly but clearly furrowed and her body language in general a bit closed off. "I just wanted to let you know that I think I need to head home pretty soon. Didn't want to just ditch, so..." She glanced at the others Alma was talking to, offering a stiff nod before focusing back on her friend.

Alma glanced over from her conversation as Jazz came in to say goodbye to her. Her heart rate was up and Alma could tell she was embarrassed about something. The static in her head shifted, the inner frat boys changing their chant from 'drink' and 'smash' to 'comfort' and 'support.' What good guys.

"Oh uh. I can walk you home if you want? It's not a big deal, and the party seems like it might be winding down for me anyway." A lie, for sure. Alma hadn't really done much of anything at the party so far. But she couldn't just leave a friend who was clearly distressed about something to deal with it alone if she could help. And at the same time she didn't want Jazz, who she knew kinda had issues with self confidence, to feel bad about her leaving.

Alma gave a quick turn to Cyril, Lyric, Bel, and Azucena and flashed them a fanged smile. "It was great talking to you guys. Maybe I'll see you all around school."

Jazz hadn't really been expecting Alma to drop her conversation to take her home, blinking up at her in surprise and glancing back at the others she had been talking to. She felt a little twinge of guilt at pulling her away from all this, but the support was absolutely welcome at the moment, because she honestly felt like she was on the verge of a bit of a freak out.

"...I, uh...okay. Thank you." Without thinking about it, She moved in to wrap her arms around Alma in just about the tightest hug she could manage for a few seconds, finally breaking off and looking up at her again before starting to head to the door. Once the two of them made it out, Jazz shot Maddie a quick apologetic text, saying that she didn't feel well and was heading home. When Alma joined her outside, she did her best to force a smile, then started the walk home.

Evie was too busy spinning and pouting to really notice the brief flash of panic in either of her dance partners, though if she was upset about losing their little competition she showed no sign of it. That pout gave way to a laugh eventually.

"You win this round, ya weirdos," She shook her fist at them as if to rue her defeat. "You gotta show me the actual steps at some point. I'll teach you how to twerk or something in return, just so you know what proper ass-dance is like."

She winked at Seyyal, before flipping back around and stepping back onto the ground.

"Phew, speaking of shots, I need to sit down after all that. You guys move fast. I'm gonna grab a drink or three and find a chair or something. Don't suppose you guys wanna see if you can keep this winning streak of yours going?"

She wiggled her eyebrows. Evie didn't think they'd wanna go back to the drinks with her, but she didn't mind if they didn't. She'd had her fun for the moment.

"Queen of Shots and Queen of Unexpected Twists," Seyyal laughed and agreed with Sage. Even if her second attempt at giving her a title was a little bit less smooth. "Both titles I wouldnt hope to challenge." She hooked a friendly arm around Sage's shoulders as Evie moved to step away for more drinks. Definitely not also a way to stabilize herself or anything. Definitely not.

She found it hard to try processing just what Evie was referring to- this 'twerking' thing. But the wink must have been because it was meant to be like the other teasing before. No matter Seyyal wasnt going to back down. "I'm sure I, or we, can teach you the steps eventually. But not if you're too busy going upside down on us."

Seyyal glanced over at Sage and back at Evie. She knew Evie wanted to get them drunker and that was probably a recipe for... mistakes, but no one else had seemed interested in even really speaking to them.

"I don't know... I defin... defnin... definitely cant win at shots with you. Maybe I'll just sip a different drink though. Sitting down is a good idea." She moved to follow Evie and gave Sage a thumbs up as she stopped leaning on her. Yes, sitting down was smart.

"I'm not against teaching you some dances in return for us learning some of your own." Now this felt more like home. Finding rewards in unexpected places that might assist them in their quest. Adapting better to this culture would certainly prove rewarding.

Sage was happy about Seyyal's self-awareness. She didn't want her worsening her drunkenness. Sage didn't want to feel the need to join in on more drinking activities either. Thankfully, she denied Evie's request to return to other (lightly alcoholic and dizzying) party shenanigans.

"Sitting down is a good idea. I'll join you. I need to be there in case you want me to hold your hair back," she half-joked to Seyyal. And to Evie, "I'm not opposed to you joining us later, if you'd like."

"Hehe, yeeeeaaaah, didn't think you would." Evie shrugged at the two of them, not particularly disappointed by their refusal given her tempered expectations. "Well, either way, I'mma go grab a bottle. I am clearly nowhere near fucked up enough if I can dance decently at all."

Evie then leaned in, shooting Seyyal a particularly mischevious smirk.

"If you do wanna challenge any of those titles, or do any other particularly fun things, you know who to look for."

She winked at her, before standing back up straight.

"I hope you both appreciated the earth culture lesson right there. I'm gonna need to start charging if you want another one." She laughed. "But! All teachers must let their students go eventually. So go forth! Have the time of your lives for one night! Or something. I'll find you nerds later."

Her entire body then angled forward, and then Evie gravity slid back away from the Lionesses and towards the bar, not even turning to face away from them. Her attempt at a cool, flashy exit was interrupted almost immediately by her accidentally bumping into someone behind her, causing her to bounce into the air again while the other partygoer complained at her.

That was a nice distraction, but her goal was to forget, not to distract, and she needed more booze if she was gonna do that properly.

Seyyal rolled her eyes at Sage. She didnt feel like she'd had enough that her stomach might rebel, but she did know Sage was the kind of person who would actually help her like that if she needed it. Pretty much the whole group of Lionesses would support each other like that. It was a nice safety net. "Oh come on Saage, I'm not that drunk. But we should go sit anyway. To be... ok, I just need to sit for a bit."

She was about to go sit down without further issue when Evie did what Evie seemed to always do. Namely swing in some kind of teasing flirty reference where it wasnt expected. Seyyal was caught off guard, and further tongue twisted by the alcohol in her system. "I... uh, yep. Uh-huh." Was all she could get out.

Fortunately she was rescued from confusion and fumbling by Evie sliding off and immediately causing a scene right out of some kind of comedy play. She laughed until Evie left their sight and then turned back towards Sage and nodded towards a nearby table. "Ok, maybe I do feel a little dizzy."

Sage caught onto the look Evie gave Seyyal and held back a smile. Only until Sage said her goodbyes to Evie and the two girls were seated.

"I had a feeling. The charismatic response you gave to Evie only furthered that impression," she snarked. "Looks like she's hard to keep up with. I wouldn't go for her if I was you... I would be careful about getting too attached here as well. It'll make returning more difficult."

Sage quickly realized her words could potentially sour the mood and bit the bottom of her lip. "But I'm happy to see that we're all enjoying ourselves. Even if some of us can't stand by the end of it."

Seyyal Sat down with Sage to rest for a bit and try to regain her composure. Or at least to forestall further embarrassment for the moment. Clearly the party had been a good idea so far, but Seyyal could tell Sage was trying to suggest she be more careful. And she was right. Of course.

"Oh I wouldn't dream of trying to outdo her or anything. I can see exactly what I lack to keep up with her topsy-turvy style," she shook her head. Possibly not quite getting what Sage was insinuating. Or maybe she was not sure how she felt about... that. One thing was certain though: she was definitely under the influence and not thinking at 100%.

Despite Sage's quick turnaround in topics the statement did sink in a little. Home. Not making attachments here. But that was so lonely, even with all the other Lionesses. A thing to consider more when she was sober, probably.

She forced a smile back onto her lips, and then in transitioned back into a real one. "I can stand... I just don't want to.. right now," she laughed at herself. Not even trying to hide how dumb that sounded. "Ok, maybe i'm a little off balance. But we really do need to have fun too. We don't have the magic to get us home. Trust me, i'm well aware of what we can do. We need to find people to help us, and making friends is something I can definitely help with. I can't go study magic tomes or whatever in the library but I can go out and meet people." It was kind of a lame excuse, but there was at least a hint of truth there.
