''Oh'', Lionel said as he slowly removed his camera from where it had been practically glued to his eye for the better part of the supposed tour he had offered to lead. ''I almost forgot about this'', he said, eyeing the lines of jack-o-lanters decorating the streets, piles and piles of red and yellow leaves filling the space between them. In his daze, he had somehow managed to take almost a dozen photos of them before it really hit him what they meant.

''It's Parade time'', he explained in a way that was not really an explanation as he turned towards Volkan, probably looking at the man properly for the first time since the first time he had raised the lens to take a photo of a young girl controling fire all the way back on the Academy.

''I'm sorry'', he said, shame slowly working its way through the creative fog which have effectively filled his mind from the first moment the girl had made the small flame in her hand leap, a giant smile immediately spreading over her face.

''I shouldn't have brought this'', he muttered, frowning at the camera still in his hands. Even now, he was unwilling to put it away. ''It makes me a horrible tour guide'', he said, regret having finally worked its way into his voice. ''I'm really sorry'', he said, raising his eyes towards Volkan's eyes. ''I promised I would show you around...''

Volkan had already loosened up. With his right hand inside his jeans' pocket, he calmly looked around and observed the events around them. But the Turk would always find his attention on his company, sooner or later. Everyday, or every night, rather, he'd see different people perform to their fullest, and to their happiest, because it was their passion, whatever that they do. Lionel looked like that while holding his camera. And although it didn't show on his face, Volkan was amused.

It was more amusing to hear Lionel apologize. To this, Volkan couldn't fight back the small smirk creeping on his face. "You are showing me around. It's fine," he said, patting the other man's shoulder. Lionel should stop being so hard on himself, really; if he could just see that small flicker in Volkan's eyes, he'd see that the taller man didn't really mind. Random glances from strangers put him off, but other than that he was enjoying himself and Lionel's company. Their timing was good, too, since he was able to see what Manta Carlos was like during a festival, and Lionel could also have fun. He just had to stop saying 'sorry'.

"We can take our time, unless you're in a hurry," Volkan said, not moving his head from the parade's direction, but moving bis eyes to the side to glance at the other. "Best to keep moving, but I don't mind if you fiddle around with your camera."
@Clockwise Dream - sorry for the wait!

''I have nowhere else to be'', Lionel said, smiling as he felt the weight of Volkan's hand against his shoulders. He was glad, extremely so, that the man did not seem to mind the fact that it took them almost twice the normal time to get from the school grounds to the city simply because Lionel has had to stop for what even to him felt like a thousand and one time to take a photo of every vibrant colored plant, leaf and small animal. ''Not for a while at least'', he added bringing his camera to his eyes and snapping yet another picture of the colorful decorations hanging all around them.

''I'm really glad you don't mind me getting distracted'', he said then, smiling again as he finally packed the camera into the bag still hanging from around his neck. ''Considering it is bound to happen often and all'', he chuckled to himself before raising his eyes towards Volkan. He could see in the other man's eyes, and body, the way he held himself as a whole that he had relaxed, the whole of him seeming about a thousand times more comfortable now than he had been at the dorm. Lionel was glad of that, and the thought of it made him smile even brighter. He could do without the camera for a while, he decided, zipping the bag decisively. Especially considering the fact that he had about a hundred photos of the last year's festival that he still hasn't managed to find the time to go through.

''Still, I really should try and do a better job of this whole thing'', he said, looking Volkan in the eyes, still smiling, despite the fact that he was no longer looking at the world through a camera lens. ''So, for the next few hours I am going to show you things you should and want to see rather than things I wish to take pictures of'', he said then, finally breaking eye contact after a few seemingly long seconds, and turning towards the other end of the street. ''Which means we are going that way, I guess'', pointing to a street that would lead them through most of the city, and towards the ocean.

@Trahnael: no need to apologize, it's honestly my fault to. God, I have almost completely forgotten what's supposed to be going on here O.O Are we even allowed to keep mentioning the October event? xD

The large hand finally removed itself from Lionel's shoulder as the camera was being kept. Volkan's face got rid of the small smirk, and honestly he tried to make a gentler smile but... it hurt his face for some reason. Direct eye contact somewhat fazed Volkan. But he tried his best to return it as his company spoke, although not as directly as Lionel was doing it. How could this guy be so at ease? he thought.

"Mm," he nodded as Lionel pointed to a direction. He looked ahead, seeing an even busier street than the ones they've already taken, but he really didn't mind. Crowds were no big deal to him, well, as long as they don't stare. "Lead the way," he said, putting both of his hands inside his jacket's pockets now. "Don't really see how the two can't be at the same time though." He paused, and for a moment there was silence, until he flinched and felt like he had to clarify himself. He looked more directly at Volkan, looking a little flustered for who knows why. "What I want to see, and what you want to take pictures of... is what I meant," he said.

"....Let's go?" The tall man then began to move towards the other street, careful not to bump anyone on the busy road.

Lionel laughed again as the other man asked how were they exclusive, the things he wanted to see and those Lionel would want to take pictures of, his eyes, once again, finding their way onto the man's face. He had not lied to Volkan, back at the dorms, while they were still in his room. He had a handsome face, interesting, and more than easy to look at...and take pictures of, of course, he thought, not really surprised at the sudden turn his thoughts had taken, but more than convinced that such paths were not appropriate, least of all at that very moment.

''It is mostly because I doubt you would be interesting in grass, plants and rocks'', he said then, sticking close to the other man as they entered the slightly larger crowed of the mostly busy street, not so much because he was worried of losing Volkan-the man was at least a head taller than most people around him at all times- but because he wanted to be heard without having to scream. Besides, being close to someone meant he worried less about his camera being picked from its bag while they pushed through the crowd.

''At least not for hours at a time'', he added a few seconds later, for he really didn't know that much about Volkan. For all Lionel knew, what he just said could be a complete lie. ''And I have been known to spend a little bit too much time circling around those, trying to find the right angle'', he said, shooting Volkan another bright smile, his eyes meeting the other man's for a long moment, before focusing forward on the crowd.

''So instead of chasing butterflies, I am going to focus on showing you the actually relevant sites'', he said as they finally reached what could be considered as the outer edge of the city's center. ''But first, tell me if there is anything specific that you would like me to show you?''

Perhaps somewhere they could eat, he thought to himself, as he looked around for a while longer before settling his gaze on Volkan once again-the man was handsome, and now that he was not focusing on the sixteen times zoomed in flower petals he was starting to notice that even more, and each time he did, a bitter regret of having his photo of the man deleted would was over him, again, he really will have to see about taking another one, soon... That was not the point now, though. Instead, what he had been thinking about was that it was getting late, and they took a while getting there. Thus it would be safe to assume that the other man would be hungry. The only question was then what would they eat.

Volkan chuckled. True enough, he didn't have the passion for photography needed to give that kind of attention to grass and leaves and flowers for so long, unlike Lionel, but hey, the city was worthy of taking pictures of, too, right? But Volkan pushed all those thoughts back, not wanting to give long opinionated statements, even though he wished he could have interesting conversations.

But his only reply was a small smile and a nod, as Lionel addressed him and smiled at him. Seriously... there's something in the way Lionel smiled so comfortably at him, and honestly, Volkan found it strange. Good strange, but strange still. People were usually intimidated by him, and yet this man had even called him good looking...

Volkan's eyes got just a bit wider before he broke their eye contact. He hoped his cheeks weren't flushed, he hoped his dark skin concealed it. But he could feel the uncomfortable heat creeping up on his face. He really should stop thinking about this, Lionel was just talking photography after all.

"Uh... No, I have nothing in mind," Volkan said. His eyes wandered around, one, to look for any place they could check out, and two, to keep his eyes from meeting Lionel's. His nose sensed something good, the zesty aroma of roasted meat, and led him to seeing the shop on the other side of the street. It looked busy though, so Volkan wasn't so sure about it.

"Lionel," he called, not able to help himself turn back to the said man in the end, despite being... bemused... of how the name felt on his tongue. "Want to eat first? It's almost dinner time anyway." He pointed to the restaurant. "How 'bout that place?"

''I was just thinking the same thing'', Lionel said, the smile on his lips growing wider suddenly for some reason at hearing the other man calling his name, despite the fact that a moment ago it was just about to finally fade. Nothing he could do about it now though, he thought, not with the way he could feel the heat creeping into Volkan's face rather than see it, for it was the passive part of his power that informed him of, if a feeling, a hunch could be called informing that is, rather than his eyes, which were now focused on finding the shop Volkan had indicated rather than on the man himself anyway.

''Works for me'', Lionel said then, finding the somewhat busy restaurant Volkan had asked him about. He had not been there before, but the smell coming from it told him enough about the fact that the chances of the not liking whatever it was that they sold there was small. Not finding a place to sit though, that could be a problem. ''Let's see if we can get in'', he said still. They wouldn't know if they didn't try after all. Crossing the street in a few long steps, Lionel approached the door, pushing them in to open them, and getting, in the process, once again overwhelmed by the mouthwatering smell. They were definitely going to eat here, he decided then. Place or no place.

''Come on'', he called for Volkan to follow him then. ''We'll talk over what to see next over some food.''

Food was definitely one of the things in the island that Volkan needed to try, the man realized, as they walked into the busy establishment, smelling the good food in the air. It posed as a challenge for him, because he was a culinary student now after all, and he took pride in his cooking even more than his fire dancing, and if someone served good food, he always wanted to be better.

Plus, Lionel seemed to like this smell. He mentally took note of that, and next time, maybe, he can invite Lionel to lunch just for the sake of enjoying food. But he kept that at the back of his mind for now, as they headed to the back of the restaurant where some tables were still unoccupied.

But Volkan realized, as they both picked a table and sat down, he was probably too bulky for this place, busy or not busy. The table was a little bit too low, and his legs were taking up too much space under the table. He'd even accidentally hit Lionel's knees with his by accident, and every time, he'd flinch like he had done something horrible, and softly mutter "Sorry."

He felt like a giant out of place. And it made him uncomfortable again, especially with all the people around them.

A waiter came to assist them on their orders, and left, and came back a bit later with their food ready. So with that, they were left alone, in the corner of the crowded restaurant.

"So..." And Volkan didn't want to shut Lionel out even though he'd rather zip his lips, and even though all he wished for was to be able to shrink, because he could feel some nosy people looking. "...What d'you have in mind..? After this?"

''It's fine'', Lionel laughed warmly at the other man's muttered apology, before suddenly pressing his knees back against Volkan's, mimicking the way in which they had previously met his by accident. ''It's not your fault the tables are small'', he shrugged his shoulders then, hoping that would be enough to convince Volkan that no, he didn't really mind, not something so small when he wouldn't really mind something lot bigger... Not that he really could tell that to him, and on that note, had he not told himself to stop those kind of thought? At least for now.

Ordering a bunch of different foods of the menu that he wasn't exactly familiar with but thought he would like, Lionel watched their waiter leave, disappearing fairly quickly among the crowd, before turning towards Volkan, humming softly as he thought about the other man's question.

''I thought we go down through the city'', he said, trying to decide what would be interesting for Volkan to see. ''There are some interesting things like shops and such on the way, though most of them are, of course, in downtown. I can show you around there, maybe take a look at the Strip but I would rather not go there. Then there is the park, and of course, the beach, or well, the Pier is closer and probably a better choice right now'', he said, tapping his finger against the table top.

''There is a bunch of stuff there, like an amusement park, though, I'm sure that working in the circus that doesn't leave you all that breathless'', he smiled again at the other man before continuing. ''There are more shops and stuff down there too, though personally I'm more interested in the marine. Fun to take photos of'', he explained, naturally, putting a protective hand over the camera case sitting in front of him, as if he was checking whether it was still there, and safe.

''That's all I can think of right now, really. And we probably shouldn't attempt too see too much either considering I have to go all the way back to the dorms, and you need to go back to the Circus'', he said in the end.

The taller man just couldn't help but look down and away when Lionel bumped their knees again. He was embarrassed, yet again, but he tried to shake it off as he told himself that Lionel was only lightening up the mood around them. So he nodded, tapping on the table as he tried to stop being too self conscious.

"The... pier sounds good. I'd like to see it." It was getting dark and they couldn't do much anyway. Lionel was right, they had to come back to their respective homes soon.

"Can you take pictures with that in the dark?" He nodded towards the camera. If it ever gets too dark for pictures later, well... he had an idea. And he looked forward to doing it, hoping Lionel would like it once he sees it.

Strange... It's like he wanted Lionel to like him.

Their food arrived soon enough. Volkan ate his meal silently, much like how he'd cook it if it were him.
