Just like on any sort of first day at a new job, Margaret had ended up not doing anything interesting. As usual, a first day involved learning where things were, what to do, safety measures and all that sort of incredibly boring things she still had to learn if she wanted to keep on working here.

Now that she knew where all sort of white powders were stored- from flour to cocaine to sugar (what an interesting workplace), had everything she needed to work and all that, she was looking forward to the end of the day. Maybe tomorrow she'd actually be allowed to just bake in peace, which was really all she wanted out of the job. That and the money of course.

The break though was a welcome moment. The break room looked just nice, and she could have a bit of peace and just stare off into space thinking of… Whatever really, alone, without needing to listen to someone talk to her endlessly about things she actually had to pay attention to. She did remember the break she had right now was twenty minutes long ; twenty minutes of doing nothing out of look at the wall, alone with herself. Or so she thought.

Apparently her new co-workers also had their break now, and they'd probably expect her to chat with them or something. And she'd already gone to the toilets right before she went to sit in the break room, so she couldn't escape to go hang out alone in the toilets. Then again she figured this would be a good opportunity to meet people and make friends, something she wasn't especially against.

But right now, after a tiring, long time of listening to people speak, she already felt like she reached her quota of social interactions. Still, she tried to look friendly. While her smile looked like the snarl of an angry bulldog about to pounce on a squirrel, she still did her best. Maybe she shouldn't have.
