The air grew just a bit heavier, and Volkan felt Lionel's disappointment as he deleted the photo. He snickered, suddenly. The shift from his stoic expression to a mischievous one was unexpected, even to himself. The grin quickly disappeared, but was maintained by a smile that looked almost like a smirk.

He gave the camera back; the expression was still stuck on his face. "That's what you get for stealing a shot," he said. The smirk disappeared soon after, and he was back to being the rigid wall of muscle that he was a as he waited a few more moments for Lionel to get ready. He still felt the embarrassment like a crawling fire all over him the more Lionel kept going with the supposed compliment, and he actually wanted to just say 'thank you', really. He knew it was a compliment and saw it that way. But... he was just not used to it and can't react the way one more appropriately should.

He stilled himself against a wall when Lionel briefly disappeared to the bathroom. So he was still there when he came back, back against the cold cement and arms crossed over his chest. He seemed to be thinking of something deep, when in fact he was just trying to ignore the time and focusing on small details in the room, such as how the light touched all kinds of surfaces and bounced here and there.

He noticed Lionel soon enough, and pushed himself away from the wall. "What's the nearest place we can visit?" he asked in response, since he still had no idea which places were good for some sightseeing. Excluding the ones they had already talked about on their way here. "The power classes or the towers... they would be the nearest one, right?"

''Yeah considering that both of those are on the campus and all'', Lionel said, humming softly and titling his head slightly as he tried to come up with a plan in his head. ''We can see those within the hour or two, depending how long we take, and then head out to the city by foot'', he said then finally, checking once again if everything he needed was in its place. ''It'll take us a while but it's would be worth it and it's better then walking aimlessly through the forest'', he said, chuckling lightly as he remembered getting lost in the forest for the first time when he himself was also new to the Island.

''Then we can see the city, maybe get something to eat'', he spoke on, letting Volkan know what he had in mind so he could add or change something he didn't like. ''It should be about lunch time when we get there anyway'', he explained, putting the camera bag on one, and his regular bag on the other shoulder. ''After that I can show you some of my favourite spots around the beach and the ocean. I haven't been down there in a while, it could do me some good to take some more photos...'', he added thoughtfully before shooting Volkan a grin, ''that don't have unsuspecting people in them'', he joked.

''Believe me, I know I shouldn't have done that'', he said, smiling despite his words simply because Volkan was teasing him about it rather than being angry or embarrassed. ''You have every right to torture me, I won't complain'', he said, massaging the back of his neck for a moment, before letting go.

''So, if that's fine with you, I'm ready to go'', he finished off, waiting to see if Volkan had anything to add before they left.

"If you don't mind taking our time, then I won't." Volkan wanted to be clear on that. He wanted to look around and see everything there was to see in the island; in the academy. And Lionel was a photographer, which would just likely mean that he was okay with that. Volkan nodded to his proposed plan, especially the part about lunch and then the ocean. He'd love to see the ocean again, and take his time unlike when he first arrived together with the Circus.

The teasing, the jokes and their smiles made Volkan more comfortable. He chuckled, shaking his head in response. "Won't be an unsuspecting person anymore, y'know," he said. Torturing Lionel sounded like a good idea, but Volkan just want to type to be fooling around on normal days... But he'd want to try and if some miracle happens and his shy attitude disappears, he might just try it later.

He nodded again once he knew Lionel was ready to go. "I'm good." He took the leverage of getting out of the room first, and he'd said did Lionel to lock the foot by standing against a wall again. Such seemed like a habit he had developed, and it made him look more like a cool-and-quiet type of guy than the awkward-and-quiet-who-doesn't-know-how-toloosen-up type that he was.

''Nah, I don't mind'', Lionel said as they exited the room, closing and locking the door behind them. ''As I said, I've already done all of my homework for the week, so it's not like I have anything else to do'', he explained, laughing lightly before heading back down the hallways towards the elevators. Passing by the stairs on his way there, he stopped, wondering if maybe Volkan wanted to walk down now that he wasn't carrying any of his books. ''Are we using these or the elevator again?'', he asked turning back towards Volkan.

''Besides, I should probably warn you now that I sometimes tend to stop every few minutes when taking a walk outside'', he said, patting the camera hanging by his side. ''The angles change every few steps you take and you wouldn't believe how much a change in angle can affect the photo'', he said, humming softly under his breath, getting a bit sidetracked in thinking about photography. ''Or time colour for that matter. But you'll probably be able to see that today by the ocean, if we spend enough time there. A few seconds can make a difference you wouldn't believe when it comes to sunrises or sunsets.'' Lionel had seen, and done, enough photos of the phenomenon to be absolutely sure of that.

''It took me a while to understand how it is possible for the world to go from soft blue to fiery red in just a blink of the eye'', he said, smiling at some of the memories he had of shooting photos with his father. The man took pictures of wild animals for work, but that did not stop him from taking pictures of everything else for personal pleasure.

''But I'm getting sidetracked'', he said, finally realising he had gone too far into his own head. ''What say you, not an unsuspecting person any more?'', he said, shooting Volkan a bright grin. ''Elevator or the stairs?''

Volkan smiled, albeit it was small and slightly strained. "Elevator's faster."

So they settled for the elevator and was down on the first floor in no time. Volkan had stopped minding the end of his jacket and instead let his hands rest inside their pockets as they walked. "I guess I'll see what you mean for myself," he said, talking about what Lionel mentioned about changes in angles and colors. He understood what the guy meant. But he'd love it just the same to witness in person how a photographer takes his pictures.

The sun outside was starting to hurt but Volkan seemed used to it. He didn't mind the walk towards their next destination, which would be the building for the powers classes. If he were any more careless, he would've tripped on his own foot as they walked, because he didn't even realize how his eyes were fixed to Lionel almost the entire time. And wherever the man would almost catch him, he'd simply avert his gaze, turning to a tree or a bush nearby.

He liked this. He liked the feeling of not being alone. He had been quite nervous about this new environment he was in, he had been worried that people other than those he considered family wouldn't want to be with him. But thank the gods for Lionel.
