Staring

Alastair looked down and sighed, not wanting to say something like this is the start of a beautifully abusive relationship. Runnign to her aid he apologized more quietly than anything. His eyes didn't want to look directly into hers. "I'm sorry..." Alastair whispered, bending down to help her.

The basketball players decided that enough was enough. "Yo! What's your problem? You tryin to hurt her for your own stupid benefit?" All he heard was the ball pop and the girl on the floor with a bruised cheek. His hand blew up like a balloon and started to go for him.

Rather than take off the glove and strike the man boldly, Alastair stood and took the shot, tumbling to the floor. The intense pain burned on his cheek and the sound of a clicking noise, resounded along with an intense pain in his jaw.

Looking up to the people, Kyako stared in shock as Alastair got hit. She gasped and frowned darkly at theperson who had hit him. "That wasn't his fault! Gah! Leave him alone!"

She crawled on her knees to Alastair's side and looked at him in concern, not knowing a streak of blood was making its way down her cheek. "You okay?"

He sighed once and merely stood up, the floor warping somewhat beneath him. A quiet look from him, tempted him to go and just say that he didn't want to hurt her again. His quiet side, the side that didn't want to make friends because of his powers. "...yes."

Alastair peered at the men, who would probably just say "my bad" or something stupidly odd like that. Getting up he decided to get out of the gym. Taking off his glove he held the metal door handle with his right hand and with his left, he held made a signal. "Ladies first."

Having a bit of a staring contest with them he shook his head and bent the metal because of the heat. "Don't touch me...again." A smirk came up and a manacle laughter sounded in his head only. The stares on the guys faces only looked at their ring leader once before playing basketball.

Kyako smiled and stepped out of the gym. She shook her head at what idiots those other people were and actually imagined Alastair touching them with an ungloved hand. But she forced the thought away and instead turned to him and gentlylaid a haid on his arm.

"You sure you're all right?" Her brow was still furrowed in concern. She absently wiped away the blood on her cheek as she waited for an answer.

He sighed and looked at the sky and then back towards her, his eyes looking into hers. "Not really. I've been hurting you since we met. First your hand and now your face. What's next?" He sighed and walked with her, hoping that she would shed some light on what she felt the situation woudl be. "It's kinda why I moved to this school. Seeing people suffer isn't something I love."

Kyako shook her head and smiled. "You're fine. I can see why you don't like hurting me, but it's not your fault." She slowly removed her hand from his arm and noticed that even now her hand was blistering up, where as earlier it had just been a light pink. Crossing her arms so he wouldn't notice and get more upset, Kyako said, "Don't worry. Nothing you've done or would or will do will ruin the friendship we've already formed." Kyako had to admit to herself, though, that in normal circumstances she probably wouldn't be so forgiving. But with Alastair, it was...different.

Alastair never knew why, but the fact that she was so kind to him only let him tilt his head some. Why was she being so nice? Why was she so forgiving? The boy stared down and smiled, "Thanks." His eyes looked to her and his eyes looked towards his hand.

"I promise you that by the end of the year I'll master at least cooling my hand down." He looked at her and stared at the ground once more. "For you." The drops of water trickled down his eyelashes and the way that the rain shimmered down on him only made him happier.

Rain's never been like this. It's always been soothing, but not...happy.

Kyako smiled, happy that he has singled her out as the reason he was going to master his power. "I hope you do." She paused before continuing in a teasing note, "But if not, we can always find a larger, thicker glove to go over the one you already have so it'll be harder for me to get burned."

The rain also seemed to have that effect on Kyako. It also seemed to make her do things she normally wouldn't. Like what she did now. Reaching up, she wiped away the water from his eyes. A second after she did it she drew her hand back, realizing it was the one that had gotten burnt. She quickly tucked it into her jean pocket.

Smiling at her words he stared at his hand and chuckled at her comment. "Yeah, we can always do that." He wondered what could really do that. His hand burned through the glove and this was made by a friend of his father's. He smiled until she brushed his eyes. She was so special to him and it was only an hour or so since they first began.

Then he saw the pinkness of her hand. He didn't want to be all wishy washy and cry. The way that she was so quiet about it, and considerate as well. "The greatest way to treat burn is to pour warm, not cold water, and if you want, I have spray in my room for burn treatment." His voice wasn't worried, but more informative.

Kyako pursed her lips together as she figured out he must have seen her hand. Of course, who really wouldn't when you're hand is right in front of their face? She stared at the ground a moment before nodding ever so slightly. "Alright," She said softly. Considering the rain was cold and Alastair had just said not to put cold water on the burn, she kept her hand inside her pocket as she began to walk again.

Looking around, she smiled slightly, tohugh she wasn't entirely positive why she had done it. No one else was outside. Not only because it was raining, but because it was the middle of the night and most everyone was in their beds asleep.

Remembering the time, Kyako was amazed that she hadn't drooped off to sleep at any point since she's met Alastair. Even now she felt no signs of being tired or getting tired. She would most likely feel the effects of staying up all night later on when the light began to show, but until then she didn't worry about it.
