He laughed and then picked her up, before walking. He tried to put a evil tone to his voice as he spoke.

"Why yes. Im more of a monster than the big bad wolf. i take little girls and show them around before before....."

Voice trailed off as he thought, still walking.

Jennifer restrained a laugh as he picked her up. She put her hands on her cheeks and said melodramatically, "Oh no! This evil man is going to eat me! What ever shall I do?"
She grinned and fell limp.
"If anybody asks, you can say I fell asleep."

He just laughed and reached behind his back to poke her c heek, he'd admit. She had humor. Instead of continuing to walk with his shoulder digging into her stomach he helped her sit up.

"Then Ill look worse than a monster, I might look nice. Sorry, dont need that thank you."

Jennfier leaned her neck back to look at him.

"And what do you mean by that? Repeat it all so a twelve year old could understand, please!"

She said, cocking her head once again. Sometimes she played the part of a ''dumb blonde'' quite well, and completely by accident.

Repeating himself he looked at her, raising an eyebrow. After awhile they were closer to the caves and he stopped, putting her down. Rubbing his shoulder he spoke.

"For a girl your heavy!"

Her mouth fell open and tears welded up into her eyes.

"I'm not fat!"

She bawled, hiding her face in her hands. She hoped her plan would work, and if not, she could always just run and climb a tree or something.

He blinked and looked at herself in suprise. He hadnt expected her to cry and take him serious. He started to reach forward towards her, then stopped and put his hand back.

"Your going to take me seriously/ We have GOT to work on your humor.."

Jennfier gasped and looked up at him.

"..."

She couldn't find any words. To her, it was just another older person telling her stuff to do. So, she did the thing a three year old would do. She turned and ran.

He sighed and rubbed his temples before getting up. Following after her, his pace was not a full out run but a quick walk.

"Ok im sorry. I had not meant anything about yiou being fat. I was just trying to joke."

He told her and stopped, looking at the shadows. Shadows were moving, and in the darkness of the tree's shadows it was easy to notice them every were.

"Jennifer!"

The memory of her dead father and mother hung over Jennifer's mind. It had been nagging at her head for awhile. Her new friends, Seth, had reminded her of her recently deceased father and mother, and the pain was unimaginable. She was in the crook of a tree branch, crying her little heart out.

"Where's Meg? I... I need her!"

Jennifer cried, curling up into a ball and almost falling out of the tree. When his words reached her ears, she opened her eyes and looked down. She could take it no more.

"MEEEEEEEEEEG!!!!!"

She screamed, trying to wait for her sister to come like she always did.


((Sorry if it seems reeeeeally weird and tragic, but I had to have her break down at one point, because her parents died recently and she's to young to swallow it all. :cry: ))

((BTW: this was not part of her 'plan'. She actually had the plan to make him asy sorry, then she would laugh and say she proved he wasn't going to eat her...))

((If you want, I can bring in her sister, if Seth can't handle it...))
