Splashes in the Ocean

From far away, one might look at the ocean and think they'd see a mermaid floating on the water only to dive again. But Aura was no mermaid. She was the current Aquarius. Being in the water was natural to her even though she was a hundred percent human. She'd dive inside, but she can stay as long as she wants, mostly because she can breathe water.

After the nice swimming, she went back to the shore, wearing only a pair of shorts and a bikini top. Her other clothes were folded beside her bag near a rock. Before putting them on, though, Aura began dancing in some stances which would later on turn out to be just her pulling all the water out of her clothes. She moved and the water moved with her and around her, before she'd throw them back to the ocean and shake off some salt and sand that stuck to her body.

And then she put on her skirt and blouse, before fixing her hair on one shoulder.

She's been going out and around the island often, and always alone. She was relatively new, and she didn't have very many friends aside from Aloysius and Carlos. She didn't mind though. She didn't look lonely being alone. Instead she was indifferent. Even though deep inside her, she knew she actually wanted some company.

Aura flinched. She had not felt another person's presence until she heard a voice call out to her. She turned around, her clothes now fixed on her. The woman was beautiful, she took note. She smiled back giving a small nod.

"Good day," she greeted. She glanced at the sky briefly; she had definitely lost track of time, and although the sun was still high, she didn't know how many minutes or hours have passed since she had started swimming. Speaking of which, she turned her gaze back to the woman, and asked, "I take it you were also out for a swim? Sorry, I didn't notice you." She held out a hand for a shake, a normal gesture for whenever she meets a new person. "My name is Aura."

Aura noticed the way some of her features changed as she dried up. Either way, she was still beautiful. And 'Cadence' was a beautiful name that fit. If anything, Aura was just a tad intimidated, what with their height difference.

"Cadence," she repeated, nodding as she's confirmed that the name did sound nice. "Don't worry about it, I just didn't sense you immediately so... I was surprised to hear you."

She laughed sheepishly. They were both in comfortable and cute outfits now, and the day was bright and cheerful. Since they were both swimmers and it seemed that they go to the same spot of the beach, she gathered she might as well know her better. "It's a nice day, isn't it? How long have you been swimming around?"

"Ah... Ahahaha..." Aura's laugh was undeniably awkward. It's not that she didn't appreciate jokes it's just that... she was never the type to laugh at everything she hears. Bad jokes are just plain awkward, and in a sense, maybe irritating too.

But she didn't let those thoughts surface. She pulled back her hand, and resumed smiling brightly. "Looks like we were both into it for quite a while. I wonder what time it is..."

As if on cue, her stomach began grumbling. Swimming was a good exercise, so of course she would feel hungry after hours of it. She patted her stomach and looked around. Surely there are restaurants near the shore, right?

"I don't know about you but I'm hungry. What do you say we go get something to eat? Barbecue?" she asked, grinning slightly.

"Cool. Let's go."

She grabbed her bag from the rock. It was a large waterproof shoulder bag that was meant for bringing extra clothes. Right now it held nothing, aside from her phone and wallet. She began to walk to her right, assuming that Cadence would just follow. Soon enough, they were walking up to a Griller joint, the air around it smelling of nothing but roasted meat. It was enough to make her drool. She turned back to Cadence, gesturing for her to follow inside. "Do you want to stay on the veranda or inside?" They were greeted by a staff, and after Cadence decides, they would be led to a table for two.
