"Heh, sorry, but I don't intend on leaving my date, Yeah, that's right, you heard me. He's not my little brother. So why don't you go get some other girl who isn't taken to dance with you? Scum of the earth..."

At this Percy's mouth dropped, eyes widened. She actually called it a date, she even stuck up for him. He wanted so much to hear that again. Did he actually have a chance with Cordelia? He wanted to know right now but didn't want to overstep it at the start of the evening. He decided to ask near the end, he smiled lightly at Cordelia. She was amazing, he was to put it lightly and not long winded. He was in love, she was amazing she could look past his height and looks and everything and even call him a date in front of people.

He would've hugged her tight right then and there if it wouldn't have started a scene. He looked at her his eyes more noticable for some reason, they sparkled in the light with happiness and love for his date.

The guy huffed, "And I was just doing that to pity you, I guess you have no taste in men." He said starting to walk away. This set Percy off, he took a step forward disappearing for about 5 seconds. Suddenly the guy's pants fell to the ground tripping him, he appeared back at Cordelia's side. "Oh yeah, and that's coming from a man that can't even keep his own pants without his momma picking out the size for him. Grow up you Scumbag and while your at it, why not stop sticking your big nose so high up in the air no woman would want you ever." Percy's height was perfect for pulling pranks like pantsing someone. He had done it a million times to younger vampires to embarass them. And just as the guy fell to the floor his polka dotted pink shorts showing a crowd of people walked in.

The guy clammered up to cover his shorts but it was too late. The people noticed and laughed. Percy smirked, Cordelia was a wonderful lady. He didn't know if he had a chance chance with her but he'd try to make it so that if there was a chance he wouldn't cast a dark shadow over it. Percy would've hit the guy, but if he did he knew how Cordelia felt about beating on Valentine's day.

Cordelia almost rolled her eyes at Percy's reaction, but didn't do so. It wouldn't seem like they were really on a date if she did that. Besides, she understood why he was so shocked. She was sticking up for him, after all, and calling this a date. What was wrong with her? She looked down at him and offered a smile, almost blushing from the look in his eyes, but not doing so. She didn't want him to tease her, after all.

"And I was just doing that to pity you, I guess you have no taste in men."

"Oh, that hurt so very much," the young vampire said sarcastically. "Seriously. Learn how to give real insults, jerk." She sighed. Men were so hopeless. She really hoped that he hadn't thought that would actually hurt her, because if he had, he would only end up disappointed. Cordelia never cared what people thought about her, and such petty comments went in one ear and right out the other.

The twenty year old blinked when Percy disappeared, then reappeared next to her in just a few seconds. She didn't bother to try and suppress her laughter when the man's pants fell down. Oh, this was priceless. She smiled at what Percy said, glad that he had stood up for her. He hadn't needed to, but even so, it was good to have someone do that for her. "Percy... you're amazing," she said after calming down from her laughter, and not realizing what she had just said. "Really. I never would have expected someone to do that.... that was just plain hilarious..."

She shook her head. That guy had to be humiliated, what with everyone seeing his underwear. "I doubt that anyone will dance with him now," she said, sounding very pleased with that fact. "Serves the guy right."

Glancing around, she wondered when the music and dancing would start. Cordelia wasn't sure if she wanted it to start soon so that they could get this over with, or if she wanted to keep stalling. She removed her arm from Percy's shoulders and stuffed her hands into her pockets. "So... um..." she began, biting her lip as she tried to change the subject. It didn't really work, though, seeing as how no ideas came to mind, so she merely went silent.

He smiled, he could sense her want to blush. He chuckled lightly, he felt himself starting to let go of his nervousness and fall in love with her. He wished he could lead her out the the dance floor and dance a nice slow song. He knew she probably wouldn't be for that unless they had a lot of square dances before that.

"Percy... you're amazing,"

If it was possible for there to be hearts in a vampire's eyes there was. He never felt so... happy! He never had a compliment from a girl before. He felt all floaty he almost blushed, this was a awesome feeling. He tried to not turn pink but a small tint barely noticable colored his face. He pushed all the gladness back inside him and knew he would probably do a happy dance when he got back to his cabin.

"Really. I never would have expected someone to do that.... that was just plain hilarious..."

He chuckled, "My height is good for one thing, and that's being unnoticed easily. Besides you said no beating, so there's nothing worse than public embarassment." He said with a chuckle, "Besides he's a jerk, a slimebag to say such things to you." He said to her his eyes still glimmering at her as they studyed her face. It looked sooo beautiful.

"I doubt that anyone will dance with him now, Serves the guy right."

Percy chuckled, "You know... since it is a dance we might as well dance right? Unless you don't want to?" He asked wanting to make sure it was alright before slowly dragging her to the dance floor but not forcefully. He never danced before and he only watched, he guessed dancing was fun and enjoyable to people especially lovers.

"So... um..."

He smiled, "You know... I've already had the most fun with you than I've had in 386 years put together." He said his eyes still looking at her intently.

Cordelia could tell that calling him amazing had made him happy. She went along with it, acting like she had meant to call him that. He would never be able to tell that she hadn't, right? When she saw his cheeks gain the tinniest bit of color, she smirked. It may have been barely noticeable, but barely noticeable still meant noticeable. "Are you BLUSHING?" she asked with a laugh, fighting the urge to poke him.

".... Besides you said no beating, so there's nothing worse than public embarassment...."

The woman smiled. "True," she said. As Percy said that the man was a slimebag to say such a thing to her, she shrugged her shoulders. "Perhaps. But you do realize people saying those things don't bother me, right?" She hoped he remembered that. She didn't want him to ever get in trouble standing up for her, after all.

"You know... since it is a dance we might as well dance right? Unless you don't want to?"

She should have expected this. She nodded slowly, supposing it would be best to get it over with. "Alright," she said, and walked with him to the dance floor so that he didn't have to drag her anymore, taking a deep breath. This should prove to be interesting...

"You know... I've already had the most fun with you than I've had in 386 years put together."

And that was it. Cordelia's cheeks turned scarlet and she scratched the back of her head nervously. "Eh heh heh heh... really?" she asked.

"Are you BLUSHING?"

He turned a shade brighter now even more noticeable.... "Maybe, or maybe it's just hot in here and that's changing my face color." He said trying to come up with a good excuse, he was about two shades more colorful than usual. He looked at her blowing some stray hair out of his eye's view.

"True, Perhaps. But you do realize people saying those things don't bother me, right?"

He chuckled, "Of course I know that you don't care what they think of you or say. But you know, I do. They jerk had no right to tell you such rude things especially since they were untrue." He said looking at her adding in his mind, Yes definately untrue.... so beautiful you are. He was definately falling for Cordelia, her face looked more and more beautiful everytime he looked. He never got bored or annoyed of looking at it.

"Alright,"

He smiled taking her hand leading her out to the dance floor, he had seen the square dance a million times. But then oddly a rather slow song came on, he wondered why they were now back in the romantics again. He couldn't exactly back out now, he heard the music play. He didn't know if she'd be okay with a slow dance, "Is it alright if we dance to this I don't want you to feel awkward or anything." He asked not exactly wanting to cause a scene if she got upset like with the kiss on the hand.

"Some enchanted evening you may see a stranger
You may see a stranger across a crowded room
And somehow you know, you know even then
That somewhere you'll see her again and again."

He smiled, the song was from a movie he watched it was tragic. He thought the guy died in the end, but none the less the romantic part was so adorable. He looked at the girl who he now was dancing with, his eyes looking up into her's, this was one of those times he wished he was taller.

"Eh heh heh heh... really?"

He smiled dashingly, "Really..." He hoped that she'd have the happiest time ever since her tragity as well. He just wanted to be there for her, forever.

"Maybe, or maybe it's just hot in here and that's changing my face color."

Cordelia stuck her tongue out at this; especially when he became even redder. "Mm-hm, yeah. It's not hot in here, Percy." She laughed. "You HAD to be blushing. Tee hee!" She clapped her hands together like a child, glad that she wasn't the only one blushing anymore. It had been sort of fun to make him blush, actually.

"... But you know, I do. They jerk had no right to tell you such rude things especially since they were untrue."

She smiled. "Yeah... but, even so... you might get in trouble if you keep doing those kinds of things to stick up for me..." she said. What if he got hurt? She wouldn't forgive herself if he got hurt for her sake. Had she heard what he was thinking, she either would have blushed again or hurt him, but since she didn't know he had thought that, there was no need to worry about it.

The woman almost died when she heard the slow song. This couldn't be good... slow songs were often love songs, and she didn't know if she was ready for a slow dance yet. However, since she didn't want to disappoint Percy, she merely nodded. "I'm fine. We can dance to this, unless you don't want to."

"Really..."

Cordelia smiled again, her face still a bit red. "Well, um... I'm glad, then...." She hadn't been able to think of a better response, so she left it at that, and looked down.

"Mm-hm, yeah. It's not hot in here, Percy. You HAD to be blushing. Tee hee!"

He chuckled, "You know I'll have to make you blush again if you don't stop." He said mischeviously looking at her, he felt his heart thumping inside. He loved her, he wasn't falling in love anymore, he knew this had to be love for them to be having this much fun.

"Yeah... but, even so... you might get in trouble if you keep doing those kinds of things to stick up for me..."

He chuckled, "No worries I've been around a lot of pyscho people in my time I can protect myself in times of need. I just don't want to hurt the people I love nor do I want them hurt." He just unconciously told her he loved her, and he truly did regardless of how fast it all happened. He wished he could know if she felt something towards him but he knew he should take it slow for her sake. And his as well, if he wanted to have a chance he'd have to respect her feelings.

"I'm fine. We can dance to this, unless you don't want to."

He smiled "Good, I don't want to back down on my first dance ever." He said with a charming smile at Cordelia, he put his hand around her waist taking her hand in his. He had to look up slightly to her but he looked at her as they started to slowly dance. He knew how to because of many movies and his extreme time on his hands. But he never actually held a girl before, his heart beat fastened. He didn't look nervous but he was.

"Well, um... I'm glad, then...."

He smiled, "Me too..." He danced with her he never knew how good dancing could feel. The music was so pretty as well, it played in the background.

"Some enchanted evening, someone may be laughing
You may hear her laughing across a crowded room
And night after night, as strange as it seems
The sound of her laughter will sing in your dreams"

He already knew of this, he loved to make her laugh, he loved her so much. His heart just felt so much of what the song said, he wished he was taller and more romantical looking so he could pull off something all cute. But he knew he was short, young looking and hardly prince charming.

"You know I'll have to make you blush again if you don't stop."

Cordelia cleared her throat. She really didn't want to blush in front of him anymore, especially blush because of him. "I'll stop," she said with a laugh. She hadn't realized how much fun she was having here with him... she hadn't laughed, blushed, or joked around since the death of her family. It was obvious that he was her friend, though on the inside, she continuously denied that she liked him as more than a friend.

".... I just don't want to hurt the people I love nor do I want them hurt."

The woman blinked at all that Percy had just said. He could protect himself in times of need, alright, and he didn't want the people he loved to be hurt. He had just stuck up for her; he had pulled that guys pants down and insulted him. She had believed that he liked or loved her as a friend... but she hadn't thought of him liking her as more than that. Panic went through her, but she hid it well. "You love me?" she asked, tilting her head to the side slightly, an eyebrow raised. Her tone was curious and calm, not sounding panicked in the least.

"Good, I don't want to back down on my first dance ever."

"This is your first dance?" she asked. She knew that he had never been in love, so maybe it was obvious that he had never danced. She bit the inside of her lip slightly when he took her waist and her free hand, nervous and still slightly panicked, but still never allowing this to show. It was her first time dancing with someone since the death of her husband, though, and she was afraid of falling for him; how could she not be nervous?

"Some enchanted evening, someone may be laughing
You may hear her laughing across a crowded room
And night after night, as strange as it seems
The sound of her laughter will sing in your dreams..."

Oh, if only Cordelia had known what Percy was thinking. She would have corrected him on the spot; just because he wasn't tall and didn't look too old, it didn't mean he couldn't be someone's prince charming.

"I'll stop,"

He chuckled, "You don't have to you know, if it makes you happy you can tease all you want. It's nice to see you smile." He said sincerely, his eyes looking at her face her beautiful smile made him glad that he could assist her to smile more. He guessed this was the most clean non-hurting fun shed had since the death of her family.

"You love me?"

Percy wished she hadn't asked that, he knew he couldn't lie. But he also knew that if he told the truth she might push him away from her life forever. He decided that he'd try to put it better than a simple yes or no. "Um..." He scratched the back of his neck trying to word it properly. "Your the first person who was willing to give me a chance, I've never met anyone so sweet to not look at my size like I'm mister shorty. So to answer your question, yes I do love you." As he said this he grew nervous that by saying this she'd get upset because of her past and stuff and leave and he didn't want that.

"This is your first dance?"

He nodded, "Yep, I've always wanted to go to one but me being so short always seemed to be a problem." He said looking at the lovely lady he was now dancing with. His heart was a thumpin in his chest as he danced with her. He knew he was of all things a vampire, but yet he was still much of a human inside.

"Who can explain it, who can tell you why
Fools give you reasons, wise men never try

Some enchanted evening, when you find your true love
When you feel her call you across a crowded room
Then fly to her side and make her your own
Or all through your life you may dream all alone..."

If only Cordelia would open her heart to him, even if it was slowly. He found himself falling more and more in love with her, he had never felt this way before. He knew she must've in order to have married, he could only try to imagine the pain she had in her past. He knew he didn't want to lose her and that he'd do just about anything to help and keep her safe. He felt so in love and the song just seemed to increase his feelings and explain his feelings even his loniness. He wished he could do just that, he wished he could make her his own love forever. But he didn't want to rush her into a relationship because her past lover's death and even her baby's.

((Sorry I can't be online long >< I have to do some things so I decided to take a break to be able to leave you a cute post to think of what you shall have Cordelia do. I'll try to be on before it's too late. See ya tomorrow if not later.))

"You don't have to you know, if it makes you happy you can tease all you want. It's nice to see you smile."

Just as he said that, Cordelia smiled. She usually didn't like people to look out for her happiness, and had Percy been someone else, he would probably be dead by now. She shook her head, though. "No, it's ok. I don't want to blush anymore than I already have," she said with a laugh. She hadn't laughed or smiled this much for so long... it felt weird, but then again, it was great to be acting like a person for once instead of a cold, hard rock. "Plus, if it annoys you, I'd rather now." Wow. Since when had she cared about what people thought and how they felt?

".... So to answer your question, yes I do love you."

The sensible part of the woman's brain told her to run, to get out of there, but she ignored it. It was alright... just because he loved her didn't mean she would fall for him, and that was really the only problem. Cordelia nodded, not going to run away from him. She had promised to come to this with him and she had no intention on abandoning him, no matter what occurred. "Oh, alright," she said. "I was just asking to make sure, that's all."

"Yep, I've always wanted to go to one but me being so short always seemed to be a problem."

She rolled her eyes at this. "It's horrible that people can't look past your height," she said. Just because he was short and looked like a child didn't mean he was a child, and it shouldn't have prevented him from doing things he had wanted to. "But, whatever. At least you're finally dancing now, right?"

"Who can explain it, who can tell you why
Fools give you reasons, wise men never try

Some enchanted evening, when you find your true love
When you feel her call you across a crowded room
Then fly to her side and make her your own
Or all through your life you may dream all alone..."

Oh, why did it have to be a love song? Cordelia wasn't really one for love anymore. These sort of songs only saddened her, but she was doing a wonderful job at masking this. Deep down, though, she knew that she wanted to fall in love again, if only to prove herself and all of her ideas wrong. Even so, she didn't know if she was ready for another relationship. Sure, she did like Percy (as much as she denied it) but it had only been months since her family's death.
