"No, it's ok. I don't want to blush anymore than I already have, Plus, if it annoys you, I'd rather not."

He smiled, she was so sweet so beautiful. He wished he could make her blush more, just because she looked even more beautiful when she was blushing or laughing. He understood her want to not blush too much. So he decided to be sweet and let it go, he just smiled at her though enjoying to just look at her while they danced.

"Oh, alright, I was just asking to make sure, that's all."

He smiled, "Of course, knowing important things are important. And I wouldn't ever want to tell you a lie." He explained why he told her that, "Your a very good and dear friend at the moment and I'd never want to force you to do or be anything you don't want to be." He said as they danced slowly, he wondered inside him if she didn't want to be in love with him because of her past or because of his looks.

"It's horrible that people can't look past your height, But, whatever. At least you're finally dancing now, right?"

"Right, even if my partner is taller than me she's definately more graceful than me so everyone will be looking at her." He said with a light smile, "So therefore my dancing skills aren't under observation only the skilled dancer I dance with. To tell the truth I'm partly glad I'm short, it's kinda nice to not have girls or guys flocking for relationship info or relationships. But then it stinks because I've never had one..."

"Once you have found her, never let her go
Once you have found her, never let her go...."

At this his mind fought the song, his heart wanted to obey the song's beckoning but yet he knew he had to take it slow or risk losing the relationship completely. He looked at her, his eyes showed love he never felt this much love for someone before or at least that he remembered. He knew he had pains from her past love, but his own heart couldn't restrain what it felt towards Cordelia. She was all he ever wanted in someone, she was kind, tough, sweet, beautiful, and just a wonderful person underneath all her tough armor was a heart as mushy as a marshmellow and he knew this.

The woman was glad when they stopped talking about blushing. It was one less thing for her to worry about. Plus, now that that subject had died, she was sure he wouldn't try to make her blush, and she would do the same.

"Of course, knowing important things are important. And I wouldn't ever want to tell you a lie."

Cordelia laughed slightly when he said it was important to know important things, and mentally whacked herself. She didn't know if it was good to be laughing this much, and part of her wanted to stop, and part of her wanted to keep laughing. "Exactly," she said in agreement. "And I'm glad you would never lie to me. I'll try and do the same." It was true, the woman had a habit of lying when she didn't want something to be known; either she would lie, or just drop the subject. She would do her best to tell the truth when she was around Percy, though, if only to return the favor.

"Your a very good and dear friend at the moment and I'd never want to force you to do or be anything you don't want to be."

Such kind words... the vampire wondered if he would be able to stick to them, or if he would forget about them eventually. "Well, I'm glad you wouldn't force me to do anything," she said. "For now, at least. Will you be able to stick to those words later on?" If it was one thing Cordelia hated, it was being forced to do something. She couldn't stand it when someone told her what to do. It was her life and she would stay in control of what she did, no matter what anyone else thought of her or what anyone else did.

"Right, even if my partner is taller than me she's definately more graceful than me so everyone will be looking at her."

The widow shook her head. "I hope no one's looking at me," she said. It wasn't embarrassing, and she didn't care what people thought; she just like people staring at her. It made her a tiny bit uncomfortable. "Oh, well."

".... But then it stinks because I've never had one..."

"As I've said before, relationships aren't as great as you think, Percy," she said. "But, whatever. I'm sure that you'll find a relationship soon." Even if he loved her, Cordelia didn't feel the same for him, and was sure he would get over her quickly. Then he could find someone better than her.

She noticed the love showing in his eyes, but merely ignored it, and most definitely didn't return it. As she had thought earlier, she was sure he would get over her in time.

"Exactly, I'm glad you would never lie to me. I'll try and do the same."

He smiled, "I'm glad, because lies don't make friends stronger or happier. The truth doe." He continued to dance with her, one could tell at first glance that he was enjoying himself. He loved her and she was right now letting him dance with her. He wanted to just take her in his arms and squeeze her tight because he felt so happy. But he knew she would probably feel uncomfortable with him doing that.

"Well, I'm glad you wouldn't force me to do anything, For now, at least. Will you be able to stick to those words later on?"

"Of course, I've been a pretty good vampire for 389 years so I guess I can be just about anything for a long time. Though I can't be too mean long though, it takes too much concentration to stay mad at someone forever especially if their a vampire." he said with a chuckle.

"I hope no one's looking at me, Oh, well."

He chuckled, "Ah but there is, I am, the men are... Though I think that might be because they sense a powerful woman. Though most guys only sense the pretty face ones who aren't more than a pretty face. But your more than that, your a great friend so if they look they're only wishing they could be the one dancing with you." He said with a light smile trying to cheer her up.

"As I've said before, relationships aren't as great as you think, Percy,But, whatever. I'm sure that you'll find a relationship soon."

"Meh, I don't just want any relationship now..." He had his eyes set on her's, he wanted her. He wasn't going to force her, but he wasn't giving up on her. This wasn't a get over it thing, this was love. He felt it in his heart, his soul, his very being. He wanted to love her forever and if he couldn't have her he wanted no one. He knew this contridicted all he ever said or thought but he never felt this way before.

"I'm glad, because lies don't make friends stronger or happier. The truth doe."

Cordelia shrugged her shoulders. "I suppose. But lying can be so very fun..." she said. She smirked and shook her head, not knowing how happy Percy was and not knowing how much he wanted to hug her. She was glad he wasn't doing that, though, because when he believed that it would make her uncomfortable, he was correct.

".... Though I can't be too mean long though, it takes too much concentration to stay mad at someone forever especially if their a vampire."

Again, the woman smirked. "Being mean can be fun too, you know..." she said. Sure, sometimes she regretted what she said to people but not always. She liked keeping people away from her, except for a few people. The less people that were close to her, the less people that could eventually hurt her. "I'd teach you how to be meaner longer, but, it's not exactly something that can be taught. Plus, I doubt you'd really want to know how to be mean for a long time."

".... But your more than that, your a great friend so if they look they're only wishing they could be the one dancing with you."

She really wished that they didn't want to dance with her. It would have made her more comfortable, but it was too late for him to take the words back. Cordelia just shrugged her shoulders again. "Well, alright. But too bad for them, because I don't plan on dancing with any of them. Like I said earlier, I don't plan on leaving you."

"Meh, I don't just want any relationship now..."

"Well, I meant that you should be with the one you want to be with..." the vampire said, still thinking that he would get over her soon.

"I suppose. But lying can be so very fun..."

He chuckled, "Only when it's good lying and not something that truly hurts someone. I do love to lie to victums of my vampiracy, they always ask stupid questions so I instil them with fear so they never ask again." He said with a chuckle, he was ever so muchly enjoying this evening with Cordelia.

"Being mean can be fun too, you know... I'd teach you how to be meaner longer, but, it's not exactly something that can be taught. Plus, I doubt you'd really want to know how to be mean for a long time."

He chuckled, "I can be somewhat mean, but it takes too much to stay mean forever. I enjoy to be happy and not grouchy, it's too hard to be grouchy and happy at the same time. So I try to stay away from letting myself be Mister Grouchy pants." He said with a light smile. He was sure she was the type that could stay angry forever, but he wanted to break her ways and make her happy without hurting her. She was his sunshine, his hope, his love, he wanted to make her happy.

"Well, alright. But too bad for them, because I don't plan on dancing with any of them. Like I said earlier, I don't plan on leaving you."

This made him want to beam and do a happy dance, she wasn't planning on leaving him. That was the closest thing he got to a I like you, he was taking the hope that she liked him and running with it before she could take it back. He smiled lightly, "I'm glad, besides they'd probably turn out to be jerks anyhow. We don't need everyone to leave the dance mentally embarassed." He said with a chuckle refering to the man that he pants-ed in front of the crowd leaving the guy in his underpants which were a hillarious color of pink.

"Well, I meant that you should be with the one you want to be with..."

He smiled, I will be my love, I just need to be slow so that you don't get hurt or forced. My dearest your all I want, you fill that place already. I want you to be happy and I want to be able to hold unto you and never let you go. "I know, but things must always move slowly or else someone could end up hurt and that'd be terrible."

".... I do love to lie to victums of my vampiracy, they always ask stupid questions so I instil them with fear so they never ask again."

She laughed. "Yeah, mortals to ask the stupidest things when they're afraid," she said, shaking her head. Her thoughts went back to when she had been turned, and blinked when she realized she hadn't exactly said anything foolish. In fact, she hadn't said anything at all... then again, she hadn't been given a chance to say anything, and she hadn't been afraid, either. Oh, well. "Well... not all of them, but you know what I mean."

".... I enjoy to be happy and not grouchy, it's too hard to be grouchy and happy at the same time...."

"It is," Cordelia agreed. "Though I prefer to be grouchy all the time instead of happy." Well, that was stating the obvious. She liked being happy, but she couldn't exactly act like nothing was wrong when she was hurt, now could she? Maybe one day she would be as cheerful as she used to be, but she didn't plan on that happening anytime soon.

"I'm glad, besides they'd probably turn out to be jerks anyhow. We don't need everyone to leave the dance mentally embarassed."

The woman nodded, agreeing with him once again. "That's why I'm staying here. They're all most likely jerks, and you're not," she said. Alright, so she finally admitted that she didn't exactly hate him. She didn't much care, though. "And trust me, they would end up far worse than mentally embarrassed." Her fangs showed as she spoke the last part, obviously stating that the men that were jerks would get hurt and not just get their pants pulled down. Sure, she didn't like violence on Valentine's Day, of all days, but if any man tried to hurt her first, she wouldn't hesitate to hurt him worse.

"I know, but things must always move slowly or else someone could end up hurt and that'd be terrible."

Cordelia nodded slowly. "Yeah..." she said quietly, then went silent. She wondered if she would be hurting as much if she hadn't gotten married when she did.

"Yeah, mortals to ask the stupidest things when they're afraid, Well... not all of them, but you know what I mean."

He smiled knowing exactly what she meant. He enjoyed the dance but now it had ended and a new song came on. He wondered what it was... He listened wondering if she wanted to not dance much. But she hadn't said anything to him either.

"It is, Though I prefer to be grouchy all the time instead of happy."

He smiled lightly, he knew why she did. He didn't want to push her to talk about it, he wanted her to forget about her past for a while and have a good time. He wished to embrace her in his arms even if just as a friend, but he knew if he did it'd probably make her upset. The urge was so hard for him to fight, he bit his lip lightly refraining from letting himself get to much in love without her recipricating. He'd try to keep his love low key.

"That's why I'm staying here. They're all most likely jerks, and you're not, And trust me, they would end up far worse than mentally embarrassed."

He chuckled, "I know... Your the kind a girl that can defend herself that's for sure. But I'm glad you think I'm not a jerk, at least I know you don't hate me yet." He said with a light smile. He was very happy to be able to be with her, he was so glad she had come and everything. He never felt so happy to be with someone.

"Yeah..."

He knew she was thinking about the past again. He tried to think of a way to make her happy, but nothing could come into his mind that wasn't too random and outragous. He danced with her and the song ended again, a guy came up to them. "Hey can I cut in shorty? This lady is far beyond you." This made Percy angry, "Speaking of jerks... Why don't you try to find your own date bub. Your alone for a reason, change your adtitude or else prepare yourself. Also my date is far above any man, and you best not think your far near worthy of her presence." He said to him. "Cordelia maybe we should go... it's kinda crowded in here..."

".... But I'm glad you think I'm not a jerk, at least I know you don't hate me yet."

"How could I think you're a jerk? Flirtatious, maybe, but you aren't unkind and you most definitely aren't scum," Cordelia told him with a small smile.

"Hey can I cut in shorty? This lady is far beyond you."

Deep contempt showed in the woman's eyes and she turned to face the man. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. No one was going to call Percy that, and no one was just going to take her away from her date. After Percy spoke, the twenty year old grabbed the collar of the man's shirt, deciding he needed to be lectured by herself as well. "As my DATE SAID, YOU'RE ALONE FOR A REASON!" she yelled, her large, wonderfully white fangs showing dangerously as she spoke. "Just because you're scum doesn't give you the right to think that others are. I'm with Percy because he's actually kind and knows how to treat people. You, on the other hand, DISGUST ME! Do you really think you can just pick up any girl you please? Sorry to tell you, but with an attitude like that, you'll be alone forever. I should kill you right now... but I'll spare your life, just because it's Valentine's Day."

With that, the woman let go of him, that more than angry look still showing on her face. She took a deep breath and took Percy's hand in hers, not even realizing she had done so. "Let's go, Percy," she said quietly, pushing her way past everyone and bringing him with her. "Where do you want to go? I don't care, as long as it isn't as crowded as this place..." She sighed. Her angry look turned to a sad one. She hated it when people just came up to her like that and asked for a dance and the like. Sometimes, she wondered if she should keep her wedding ring on, just so no one asked her these sorts of things.

"How could I think you're a jerk? Flirtatious, maybe, but you aren't unkind and you most definitely aren't scum,"

He wondered how someone could change their attitude about someone so quickly. He wondered if maybe she was feeling the same way, a part of him tried to dismiss the thought. But it kept coming back, he couldn't help but only smile and look at her. She was so sweet and beautiful...

"....DATE... he's actually kind and knows how to treat people..... . I should kill you right now... but I'll spare your life, just because it's Valentine's Day."

The words date, and how much she seemed to be sticking up for him made him wonder moreso if she was falling for him. He wasn't trying to be cocky, he really loved her and really wanted to know. She was such a powerful woman, so unyielding and had a will of her own. This made her even more irresistable to him, he wanted to sweep her off her feet and bring her to a happy land where the pain of her past would disappear and she'd be just happy forever without the horrible pain of the past to haunt her. He immediately thought of the lake, the quiet peace of the lake, it's placid calming waters. He had sat at the lake for hours before, feeling numb from his pain. But now he had someone with him, someone he loved even though it seemed impossible for him to hold her heart's love.

"Let's go, Percy, Where do you want to go? I don't care, as long as it isn't as crowded as this place..."

Her hand was holding his, his heart lept inside his chest his palm getting cold and clammy. He slowly held her's back, "Um... the lake will be quiet and peaceful." He said barely able to get the words out because of his shock of her holding his hand. He loved the feeling though, her hand and his felt so nice together. He held her's a little less scared now, he liked it a lot, the feeling of togetherness.

"Um... the lake will be quiet and peaceful."

The woman nodded her head. The lake seemed like the perfect place to go. She was sure no one else would be there, and if there were other people, she doubted they would have the nerve to ask for a dance. Besides, she really didn't care where they went, just as long as it was away from all these horrible people. "Alright," she said. "That sounds good to me."

Just then, she felt him holding her hand back, and her eyes widened. Cordelia was just coming to the realization that she was holding his hand. Holding his hand!! Of all the things she could have done, she had to hold his hand. Her pace slowed for a moment, her mind in debate to whether she should let go or not. She didn't understand why she was hesitating, she wanted to let go, but holding his hand was just so wonderful! Well, it was official for her now. She liked him. She didn't love him yet, but she liked him... a lot.

She smiled and relaxed a bit, her eyes no longer wide and her pace going back to normal. The widow's mind was still in conflict; she could either allow herself to like him, or she could fight her emotions and keep denying it no matter what.

A while later, the two reached the lake. Cordelia smiled slightly again and almost reluctantly pulled her hand away from his, and sat down by the shore. She pulled her legs up to her chest and hugged her knees before looking at Percy. "So... what should we talk about?" she asked him. "I'm sorry that I haven't really started any conversations... I'm just not good at coming up with things to talk about."
