Ania almost regretted signing up to help the people that were infected, this did not seem to be a very fun job. Hopefully her assigned partner was an easy person to talk to. The strong winds pushed her in the opposite direction that she was headed. Forcing herself forward, Ania dove into the shelter of the Sick Tent. She wasn't used to playing nurse with people, and hoped she wouldn't let anyone down. Slipping out of her warm coat, Ania flung it to a far corner, where it wouldn't be stepped on as easily.

Glancing around the temporary shelter, she caught sight of her partner. Approaching the person carefully, Ania squinted, not quite able to discern the gender of the human. A cursory glance at the chest gave her the idea of maybe male, but it could also be a flat woman .. hmm. Hopefully the voice will help?
"Hi. I'm Ania, it's nice to meet you." Adding with a short laugh, "I guess we're partners, now."

<div align=center>The boy glanced up from whatever he was doing, a coy smile crossing his effeminate features. This situation was strange to him, he just hoped no one would die on his watch, William couldn't cope with death, that was one thing that terrified him. He'd not met his partner, yet, and when he turned to meet her, he could see she was a pretty girl, even by his standards. Shorter than him, though then again, most were shorter than him. "H.. Hello." He stammered, his voice soft, gentle. It would have most like still been difficult to decipher his gender when he spoke, the tone he used was often so benign. William was a timid boy, he took fright easily and other people tended to make him nervous.

But he was useful. Which was why he was here and he knew that, it was perhaps the one time his powers had come in handy. Most of the time they were a curse, they made his life extremely difficult and he hated them. "I guess we are," he continued, innocently tucking a strand of hair behind his ear. Without even thinking about it, Bill shuffled to where Ania had thrown her coat, folded it carefully and replaced it where it had been. His OCD tendencies were practically radiating throughout the shelter, he'd tidied everything and put everything in what he would deem 'it's rightful place.' For a moment or two he almost forgot to introduce himself, "oh! My name is William, it's nice to meet you, too."</div>

As her partner approached, they seemed to grow even taller. Did everyone have to be quite so tall? It was rather unfair of people to shoot up to such heights when she was stuck with such short legs. Her expression was a mix of excitement and anticipation as the person finally spoke, but it quickly dropped when the voice was unisex as well. A pout slipped across her features when her unspoken question went unanswered. Well. Even without a set gender this person was interesting. Most voices she heard were loud and grating, the main reason why she hated talking to people. Her partner's voice was nice to listen to. Tilting her head slightly, Ania wondered if he would flee at any sudden movements. He looked a bit like a deer in the headlights.

Ania was lost in thought, considering the person she has been stuck with, when her partner began to beeline for the corner where her coat was stored. She had specifically placed it there so it wouldn't get abused. "Oh but--" Stopping short when she realised that he had begun to fold it neatly. Mildly confused, it would seem that this person was full of surprises. Most people would ... Ask to fold it, right? Then again, no one had ever offered to fold her coats before. She had never been in this position before, and wasn't quite sure how to handle it. "Um ... Why did you do that?"

Ania nearly bounced in joy when he finally introduced himself. So it was a man! She had a man-partner! Well, now that was settled. Advancing on the man, Ania studied him carefully, circling his body like a bird of prey. He didn't look like a he. He's prettier than I am ... Stopping in front of him, Ania stared up at his face. "Well." Reaching up tentatively to squish his cheek, Ania momentarily forgot that this was probably considered rude and more than a little creepy. "Well! You have soft skin." With a guilty grin, Ania tucked her hands behind her back and hopped off to see the rest of the enclosure she was posted in.

<div align=center>William froze suddenly when he realized what he had done, he turned around and frowned. "Oh I'm sorry." He squeaked, hunching his shoulders a little and shaking his head, "I'm sorry, I'm used to being around..." He shook his head again and laughed, "doesn't matter, sorry, anyhow." Bill was used to being around Gabriel, and Gabriel was notoriously messy. He tended to shuffle around the boy's dorm picking things up and tidying things away, it was usually spotless by the time he left it, though everything would be messy and out of place when he returned again, though he couldn't blame him, he wasn't used to having someone as... Tidy as William around him.

William straight up laughed when she touched his cheek, "thanks." He answered, lifting an eyebrow and smiling a little, "it helps to moisturize, y'know." He stated, nodding once. He'd decided he liked this girl, he got vibes from her that made him trust her, and William wasn't one for making friends straight off the first mark, it took him a little while to warm up to other people, he struggled to get his barrings around them, and usually he felt like he was being judged. Though he could often tell whether he was or not, telepathic powers came in handy from time to time. </div>

A small smile appeared at William's apology. She felt a little bad for saying anything, he looked terrified. She wasn't that scary of a person, was she? She wondered who he was about to mention, but decided to leave it alone. It wouldn't be very nice to interrogate him about every detail of his life, especially within their first hour of knowing each other. From the looks of things, this person was very tidy. She would have to make sure to put things back where she found them.

Ania couldn't contain her giggle at the thought of this boy carefully applying lotion to his cheeks every night. Touching her own face, she wondered if moisturizing would make her softer. Then again, she touched her face too much as it was. Inspecting the tables that held interesting bottles and objects, Ania wondered what each of their purposes was. She would probably find out soon enough."I wonder what these are for!"

Hey. What was William's power anyway? They were asked to have supercool heal-y powers to join the taskforce, weren't they? Maybe he could fly or something. That wasn't very much of a healing power though. Ania was in awe of those that could fly. Growing bored of the objects she had previously been inspecting, Ania spun back around and approached her partner once more. "Hey. What are your powers? I'm a fish! I'm a big fat koi fish! Isn't that boring!" She bounced in place a little, trying to guess what his powers were. "Can you fly? I think flying is neat." A sudden burst of energy made her more talkitive than usual. "Wouldn't it be neat to see a flying fish? I wish I could fly."

<div align=center>William laughed softly, a fish, now that was interesting. "That's cute," he answered quietly, smiling and shaking his head, he didn't think that was boring at all. Though, then again, William was more or less fascinated by everyone that was different to him, and that was incredibly different. He smiled when she asked him about what he could do, people weren't generally interested in him. "Well," he started, thinking about it for a moment. "Telepathy, for one thing." He nodded, though that was something he'd rather not have, it was irritating to say the least, and it tended to get him into a lot of strife.

"And uh, I think it's called empathy? Anyhow, I know how other people are feeling all the time, I can change their emotions, too." He'd already used it a few times in this situation, a small boy with a broken arm had been crying and complaining, William had managed to comfort him and make him go to sleep for a little while. "I can heal people too, but I wish I could do it on myself too." He grumbled, frowning, "I'm a bit clumsy." He laughed, his height made him fall over his own feet an awful lot, he was more leg than anything else.</div>

Ania pouted momentarily at being called cute. She wasn't cute, she was a majestic creature. Like a unicorn. It's too bad she wasn't born a unicorn shifter. That would be neat, definitely. William's smile excited her. Maybe that means he has a really cool-- Telepathy? So he can ... Read minds, right? Can he read my mind? Probably. Stop thinking. How do you stop thinking? It's really hard to think about thinking about something else! Ania's expression twisted up in concentration. She wasn't sure what to think about. Dolphins! On command, her brain pulled up all the facts about dolphins that it could muster. It was surprisingly difficult to think about dolphins and listen at the same time. The paranoia of being heard overcame the question of 'does he even care about what I'm thinking'.

<Br>
Giving up on dolphins, Ania caught the tail end of his next sentence. "Change emotions! You have neat powers!" A bright smile flashed across her face. She was surprising herself right now, she didn't often talk so much. Especially to other people. This boy could heal, too. He was probably going to be able to help people more. The most she could do is entertain them by swimming in circles. The sick people probably wouldn't care about a fish dancing for them anyway. "My powers are useless. At least yours help people." After thinking for a moment, Ania finally thought of a solution. "Maybe if you carried around a tiny healer in your pocket, they could heal you." She wasn't quite sure if that made sense, and if there was such thing as a pocket-healer, but didn't bother to explain further.

Puffing out her cheeks, Ania decided that even though she might be useless, she would try her best to help the people that had gotten ill. "How many people have fallen ill so far...?"

<div align=center>William smiled, "don't worry," he reassured, "I'm not gonna pry so deep into your thoughts I'll find something you'd rather I didn't." He thanked her when she told him he had 'neat powers,' "it's just like..." He paused, trying to find a way to explain what it was like to hear other people's thoughts, he supposed it was just like them talking... But they didn't move their mouth, and he repeated this to her. It was like someone talking all the time, and you weren't able to shut them up again. His foil hat was absent and therefore the thoughts of others were merely coming toward him like everyone was talking at once, it was giving him a headache.

A tiny healer. He smiled to himself, that's a good idea. Though he wasn't really sure where he would find one. Her next question made him frown, there had been varied sicknesses around already, "there are thirty one people in here." He stated, "not including us. Some are worse than others, a lot of them have just come in here to get out of the cold." William had let them, they didn't get in the way much and the longer they stayed outside the more likely it was they would get sick. "But uh... There's a lady out the back I'm uh... I'm a little frightened to.. To..." He stammered, biting his lower lip, there was a sheepish look about him all of a sudden. "There was a lot of blood... The.. The most I could do was... Make her feel a little better.." He didn't know what had happened, he'd been too scared to pull the sheet off to have a look. She had been screaming when they'd brought her in though, it had scared him.</div>

Ania nodded gratefully when he mentioned that he didn't pry. If it has been her born with those powers, she would dig up every little thing she could. She did feel a bit sorry for him when he explained it. She didn't like people talking in the best of times, but it would be worse if she could never escape it. "You can't control what you hear? That must be terrible." She felt for him, she couldn't imagine not being able to ever escape it. At least with her power, she could easily forget about it.
Thirty one. That was more than she had ever tended to. Really, any amount would be more than she was used to. "I hope the people huddling in here don't catch whatever the others have..." Ania became more interested when William mentioned a lady that he was scared of. Did that mean she had caught the Bad end of the illness? Perhaps if there was a lot of blood, maybe she had been attacked by another who had caught it. "Can we go see her? Lots of blood doesn't bother me too bad. If someone took a chunk out of her I don't want it to get worse .."

Especially if someone had hurt her, the illness would spread faster through her blood stream. Ania was no doctor but she knew enough to want to disinfect it as quickly as possible.

<div align=center>The boy nodded a little, "it's a little annoying." He laughed, truthfully, it was more than that. Gabriel frequently got frustrated with him due to it, it was all William could do to explain that it wasn't his fault, that he couldn't control it. Gabe knew this, but sometimes, William knew that he forgot. He tensed a little when she asked if they could go see the woman, he nodded though, he couldn't just leave her, but he didn't think that she'd live much longer. "Yeah..." No one had told him anything about her, they'd just brought her in and told him to be careful, to make sure she was alright. It only took a glance at her for Bill to realize that she definitely wasn't alright. He wasn't sure where all the blood was coming from, or what had happened to make her bleed so much, he couldn't help thinking of a story his history teacher had told him back at his old high school, about a Nurse who'd been caught in an explosion a long time ago, a piece of shrapnel had gone through her stomach, the boy winced at the thought of it.

He pushed the divider back, and stopped, waiting for Ania to continue before him. He'd changed the sheets twice already, but when he looked at them now they were dyed a dark crimson. He'd left the one that covered her originally, though, he didn't have the stomach to move it. His eyes widened and his face went pale. He hated blood, the only thing that let William know she was still alive was the ragged sound that he recognized as her breathing. "I... Uh.. I'm not sure... What.. What to do.." He squeaked.</div>
