The man growled in anger and yet again tightened his hold on her. Rae tried to get a breath but couldn't. The world swam before her. She begged Corona with her eyes to do something. If I die.... Her thoughts jumbled together.

"Oh for crying out loud." He jumped into the air and like a hawk swooped down at his prey, swing both blades towards the man's head.
The invisible man released Rae, who crumpled to the ground, gasping and pressing a hand to the small cut, and moved out of the way. "I'll be back!" He threatened before he became uninvisible and left through another hidden door.
"Are you alright, Rae?" He asked, being sure to note exactly what door the mysterious entered and how he did it.
Rae nodded and stiffened. She stood. "I have to leave....you HAVE to get away from me." She looked around frantically for some type of door she could escape through.
Rae tore her arm out of his grip. She glared up at him while pointing to her cheek. "That and--" she pointed to the dark bruises appearing on her neck "--this are because I told you what I'd seen. I need to get away from you." Then added, "And Paul."
"Will they not kill you? That guy certainly would have if I did not do something. Are you so sure that they would leave you alone if you stopped hanging around Paul and I? I do not think so."
Rae looked away. "I'm not sure." She looked up at him with a hard look. "But you sure didn't help me much. I could probably defend myself better than you did."
"You sure didn't seem to defend yourself very well. What would have happened if I weren't here?" He was starting to wonder what whoever it was inhabiting this little base was up to. Surely they wouldn't let the two of them stand here and talk.
