What Rae didn't realize was that Corona had been to many different worlds. In some of them, it wasn't uncommon for something strange to happen just for "no reason". Different worlds have different physical laws. Combined with Corona's general lack of knowledge about the current modern world, as the last time he had been there was in medieval times, it was quite understandable for him to be so ignorant of something that seemed so obvious.
He looked to the "flashing red light" Rae mentioned. Out of curiosity, he lifted his finger and pressed it as if it were a button.

A hidden door slid open. "Think they could have disguised how to open it a bit easier?" Rae ventured forth and looked around a darkened room.
"Well hold on.. it could be a trap. Made to look obvious just to trick us, yes?" Despite this warning, he walked in just like she did.
Instinctively he jumped in front of Rae and charged back at the dark form, summoning both of his swords and readying them in a guard formation.
The form became invisible and Rae felt a draft of air hit her before something tightened around her throat. She felt a sharp sting and then blood began making its way down her cheek.
Rae looked at him, her eyes wide. "Shouldn't have told him about what you saw," a voice whispered in her ear. "Now you'll pay." The hold on her neck tightened. Rae was positive her neck would pop any moment now.
"Harming an innocent young girl instead of the dude with two swords and wings, yet again Cliche. You new-age villains are all the same. At least back then they had some sort of innovation. But hey, whatever." He wasn't as concerned about Rae as one would think he would be. Paul, on the other hand, kept yelling at Corona to do something.
