Rae shrugged and took his hand. "It's okay if you're still abit shaken from what just happened. I'll be sure and take care of you," she teased as she began walking.

"Where did you get the idea that I was shaken up? I don't understand.." He had no issues with her holding his hand. "One could see your quick thinking back there, despite your fear, and your current acting of bravery and protective attitude, as a way of trying to impress me, ya know."
She sighed. Did he never understand when I person was teasing him? Rae just smiled and went with his theory. "Okay, you caught me. But next time you get to impress me."
He was about to respond when he heard a shatter of glass behind him. They hadn't gone far from the city limits, close enough to make out that one of the bulbs in the lamp post at the edge of the street had shattered. Paul stared at the light for a few seconds, confused, when all of the lights in the nearby neighborhood flickered once again.
"Huh.." He turned to Rae. "Electrical problems?"
"Huh.." He turned to Rae. "Electrical problems?"
Rae shrugged. "I'm no electrician, but I'd guess it's something like that." She bagan softly humming a song to herself.
He paid no mind to it and continued walking. "Someone's in a good mood." He responded to her humming. Back in an alley way of the city, two muffled screams came.. from the thugs that tried to rob Rae and Paul just moments before. Their cries soon ended, no one within earshot of them.
Rae had been just about to comment when she heard the screams. She frowned. "Should we go check it out?" She asked unsurely.
"What in the world? Erm.. well.. we probably should.. I guess. But.. we should be careful. Maybe a monster or something snuck into the city. That's quite rare though..most are afraid of human civilization.."
"Monster?" Rae shook her head in disbelief. When they arrived at the alley, nothing was there. It was completely empty. Rae bit her lip before sighing. "Oh well."
The lights flickered once again and a few more lights shattered. Something strange was going on. Everything in the neighborhood was quiet. The only noises came from the main parts of the city, which were quite a ways away. Paul looked around for any signs of anything, but didn't see anything. He looked up at the roof of the building, and after a few seconds noticed red eyes coming from a shadow. He gasped and fell backwards, not quite sure what it was, for it disappeared. While Paul didn't realize it, Corona hadn't said anything since Rae scared away the two thugs.
