Graffiti was a relatively new hobby for Evie, one she'd only really started doing after hanging out with Estella. She wasn't very good at it, as anyone could tell by looking, but she certainly found it fun, more fun than math class at the very least.

Which was why she found herself in the hallway of the school building, when she was supposed to be in class. She had planted herself on the ceiling, can of white spray paint in hand, looking around her every now and then to make sure no wandering teachers spotted her. She was currently in the process of drawing her own rendition of the campus security guard who had busted her a couple of times, which looked like a very messy stick figure with dirty hair and a speech bubble that just said "Urrggghhh".

A masterful work of art, truly.

She glanced around again once she put the finishing touches on her creation. Classes wouldn't be finished for another 30 minutes or so, she figured she maybe had time for a couple more as long as she wasn't interrupted.

This place was new, different, and he didn't really know how to feel about any of it. So far with the exception of a single person, Alaric was surprised at how genuinely friendly people were. It was everything his father, and several other members of his clan said it was. That said, he couldn't stand some of his classes. He'd managed to slip off, and was now simply wandering around the school.

On one hand, there was no one chasing after him, which made him wary. On the other hand, it was nice to not have that to deal with. He rounded a corner, and that's when his eyebrow raised... along with his head. He at least recognized the girl from the community center, but she was on the ceiling. Painting a pretty shitty picture of... someone? Shouldn't she be outside for this?

"What are you doing?" the only appropriate question he could really think of at the moment.

Evie blinked twice, looking down just as Alaric rounded the corner. She looked like she was about to leap away, but once she recognised the boy she cracked a smirk.

"Well, if it isn't the horny boy!" She hopped off the ceiling, performing a graceful spin in the air and landing both feet back on the ground. "I'm just helping decorate the school. These hallways are really drab huh?"

Evie walked over next to him, before looking back upon her work, making a rectangle with her fingers and thumbs and framing the drawing with them.

"Now its like captain hardass is always looking down on us, keeping the school safe from miscreants like me. I'm sure he'll appreciate it."

Giggling, she then turned to face Alaric, hands crossing behind her back, rocking back and forth on her heels.

"What about you? Classes aren't done yet, you taking a toilet break?"

So she was in fact just cutting classes and vandalizing the ceiling. There was a decent chance no one would even notice it for a while either, because no one ever bothered to look up. He tucked his wings up tighter against himself, and pulled his tail in a little more. A habit he had to make himself seem smaller.

"It's Alaric. I'm just... wandering around. Looking for places to hole up I guess," he just kind of sized Evie up. Was she really that bad? "Uh shouldn't we go before someone catches us?"

There wasn't much to size up, Evie stood much shorter than the young dragon, and even with the toned muscle visible, it was clear she was much scrawnier than he was. She just gave another smug smile in response to his question.

"Yeah, probably. But hey! There's no fun in breaking the rules if there's no risk in getting caught, right? That's like, half the fun!"

She looked like she was just about to continue, but just as she did the sound of another door opening could be heard, further down the hallway. Instead of speaking, she simply moved to grab Alaric by the hand and pulled him towards the closest door out of the school building.

"I'm guessing you don't mind that too much," She said, quietly, standing next to a door leading outside. "Otherwise you'd be in class with everyone else right?"

She pushed open the door, leading to outside, causing her to shiver just a little bit at the cold weather.

"So what'cha doin' out here Alaric?" She asked, that same smug expression visible on her face, making it clear she was well aware of his current truancy.

Well she did have a point about it being worth the risk. He hated to admit it, but that was just a part of the thrill. He couldn't count how many times he'd pissed off instructors and gone on chases. Sometimes he'd gotten caught, other times he got away at least for a short while. He could hear just about everything going on if he focused though. He was dragged outside not too soon after hearing a door open.

"Eh, I don't really hate this place so I wouldn't set it on fire," he looked around and good lord this campus was still as big as it was when he first arrived. Alaric noticed Evie's shiver though, he opted to loose some warmth for her.

"No one ever looks up, I figure there's some fun spots on the roofs and teesh," he absently cursed backwards. That said he was already moving along in case someone was onto them. "I was basically going to check it out."

Evie blinked, pausing for a second to think whether she heard him correctly.

"Uh, did you just have a stroke there or something dude?"

Giggling, she leaned back against the wall of the building. By now, she was starting to get used to the island, the school. But it was still pretty fuckin' weird, so she could understand any mild bewilderment that he might feel.

"Well, if you wanna have a look around," She stood back up straight, adopting a mock air of sophistication. "Then allow me to be the responsible senior that I clearly am and show you around."

She deeply bowed, flourishing her hand in an exaggerated manner, before dropping the act and giggling again. She walked over towards the wall, planted her foot against it and began walking right up along the building. She held out her hand to Alaric, intending to pull him up along with her.

"C'mon, let's check out the roof."

"Responsible senior... I think you mean accomplice," Alaric just grinned. He was ready to just fly up to the roof. He was kind of used to doing these sorts of things on his own. He took Evie's hand and found himself standing on the wall. She had some interesting powers, and she was a human as far as he could smell. But also, apparently paint in this world came in spray cans.

"So uh what kind of magic is this? I've never actually seen anything like it," he asked as they headed up to the roof.

"Hey. Come on." She smirked. "You're the accomplice here, I'm clearly the one running the show."

Evie let go once he was on the wall, her powers still remaining in effect, letting Alaric follow her up without her needing to pull him along. She rested her hands on her head as she strolled up.

"Magic? Naaaah. I don't think its magic anyway."

She frowned to herself briefly.

"I dunno. I think I was just born with weird powers. Maybe my parents were aliens or something. Maybe I got bit by a radioactive bug and now I'm a weird mutant girl. Who knows."

Questions of what her powers were and why she had them were things she hadn't really considered before coming to the island. Before learning about life beyond the veil she always just assumed she was special and left it at that.

"What I do know is that they let me fuck with the laws of gravity. Like this!"

She then proceeded to cartwheel up the remainder of the wall, rolling along until she was close to the roof, before jumping over the edge, readjusting her gravity and spinning in midair, landing both feet on the lip of the roof. She looked down at Alaric from the top and grinned.

"Pretty cool, huh?"

Once he also reached the roof, she readjusted his gravity as well, letting him stand up with her.

"Well, whatever they are, they are pretty cool, and handy. All my abilities end in some from of property destruction," he did a little flip of his own when he reached the top of the building, grinning. He couldn't think of any theories to offer up, but maybe it didn't matter. His tail wagged a bit in excitement. This was a nice view.

"Eh we can settle for partners, that'd put us on even footing," he paused, and a sudden realization hit him. He'd never seen spray paint before. Sun elves sure were missing out on this kind of simple scientific advancement. "Uh so... paint comes in little cans you can spray here ? Didn't have that back home. If I did well...heh."
