Ok, the turnabout was only fair play. That was the thing about referencing embarrassing stories with someone you trusted. It meant they had references to use on you too. If Kal blushed he would have been fairly pink right then. Instead he blinked and looked a little sheepish for a moment before replying. "Alright, fair. But i'll have you know I only rarely wet the bed nowadays... and it's just water. Only water." He had tried to look serious at first, but after the pause he grinned and was practically laughing by the time he finished. The downside to producing water from your body was that sometimes he did it in his sleep, especially if he had a nightmare.

At the comment about wetting the bed Skye raised her eyebrows and covered her mouth. She didn't know the story involved or anything and she didn't want to embarrass Kal any further with her giggles. "Well... I guess at least it's only rarely?" She looked very relieved though when Kal started grinning again.

Kal was very quickly sorting and packing up shells on his side. The bins might have been new but it wasn't his first time sorting the hoard. He had been distracted by the baby jokes and the references to their stories but he wasn't going to just let Cam get too far ahead of him.

He didn't quite get whatever the whole rain thing was supposed to mean so he just kind of shrugged. "Excuse me, i'm not just muscles over here. I have other good features too," he smirked and then produced a little water in his hand to throw at Cam. By the time it made it to him it was barely more than a sprinkle of warm water as it spread out and most of it missed.

It was becoming clear that although Kal was very familiar with the hoard and how to sort it, Cam was much better at actually organizing things. He snickered at the bad shell puns though "Oh Cam, you should really join us for surfing some mornings. Skye is pretty good at it- even if she did blind me with rainclouds yesterday morning." Skye was quickly becoming a good friend. Though he definitely didn't feel attracted to her like he did with Cam. Which was tough because he wasn't sure what exactly to do about the man. Maybe Skye could give him some advice later. She had seemed pretty adamant that he do the challenge with Cam after Kal mentioned him.

Cam burstead out laughing at both Kal's answer to Cam's jab and Skye's reaction, and he had to take a break from packaging to get most of the giggles out. Ernesto merely looked between Kal and Cam, looking a bit confused. But using the slight distraction Ernesto reached for the lemonade and tasted some. Deeming it drinkable the man kept sipping the drink looking gruff, and Cam wiped the corners of his eyes, grinning at Kal.
"Yeah, just water, sure. Or mostly, at least."
Cam said the last part silently enough, so just Kal heard, and he snickered a bit before resuming his packaging. He had wanted to make a reference to holding hands, like in the story Kal had told, but somehow Cam wanted to keep that a secret only he and Kal shared.

Cam was facing the other way when Kal shot some water his way and couldn't dodge the small sprays of water that hit the back of his bare neck. Cam flinched a bit, almost dropping the shell in his hands, turned and narrowed his eyes at Kal.
"I think there's a stain on your aura. It's called cheating. Is that one of your features?"
Cam stuck his tongue out at Kal, and grinned a bit. He was just kidding, naturally, but sure hoped Kal would give him a headstart next time he sprayed water. For the shells' sake.

Cam's body had gone on an autopilot on the organizing and his hands moved systematically and steadily. He picked up a shell, wrapped it thoroughly and set it in a bin, repeated. But his mind was focused on the chatting going on, and he tilted his head to grin at Kal over his shoulder.
"That sounds awesome, I'll join in a heartbeat. Though I've got so many morning lectures this term, maybe some weekend. I can blind you with my kickass surfing skills, only amateurs need rainclouds."
Cam snickered and winked at Skye playfully, signaling that he was only joking. Cam had naturally considered the possibility that there could've been something between Skye and Kal, but he had brushed it aside as none of his business. But mostly the thought ached too much, so Cam didn't want to think about it. He wasn't the jealous type, and he didn't chase after anything, or anyone, that was already someone else's.

Skye glanced over after things had calmed down a little bit. Well, really it wasn't looking like it was going to be too calm. The two guys were far to into each other to let things get boring- which wasn't a bad thing she supposed. She was pretty sure the day, and whatever might eventually happen between the two men, would go well. She was doubly sure of the former when she saw the other lemonade had been accepted and she just gave a small happy smile. Skye wasn't going to draw attention to it.

"Oh no, should I try washing out this stain? We probably don't want everyone in here taking a bath so I'll hold off until later," he laughed. "I'm not triton (trying to) cheat though. You just looked a little parched is all." He figured another shell pun would be good. And with his familiarity with shell she probably had a bit of an upper hand- he knew quite a few different type of shells. Triton being one of the types that was apparently named after a trumpet carried by a dude in greek mythology. Kal wasn't super interested in the mythology but he had learned about the shells.

Kal was also doing pretty well at letting himself fall into a rhythm of sorting and packing the shells while they kept up their chat. "Well what about surfing in the evening around sunset then? I couldn't do it every night because of work but I could squeeze some free time in to go surfing with you Cam. If you blind me though I guess you'll just have to drag me back to shore. Can't have me paddling the wrong direction." He glanced over to look at Cam and grinned. The thought of surfing at sunset was pretty enticing actually. Almost getting lost in his daydreams, he was snapped out of it by Skye laughing.

"Don't make me give you your own personal storm cloud to follow you around," she stuck her tongue out at Cam and just laughed. "I've got uh... homework that I usually do around then so I guess it'll have to be just you two." Skye gave Cam a wink when Kal wasn't looking. While she wasn't necessarily lying, since she did normally do homework around then, she was trying to give the two of them their time together.

"Oh, yeah. That works pretty well too," said Kal as he gave a thumbs up of his own to Skye- hidden from Cam by the way his body was turned. Looking around the room though Kal was pretty pleased at how far they had gotten. It seemed like it had been just a little bit but actually it had been almost an hour already and there was a large stack of filled bins on both sides of the room. "Good job Cam, we're going to get through this hoard no problem at this rate."

Cam grinned and turned to face Kal a bit more, one hand perched on his hip and shell on other hand.
"Triton? Now you're just showing off your shell knowledge. And I'm not parched..."
Cam smiled charmingly and posed a bit, able to keep a straight face when he finished his sentence.
"I'm hot."
But after saying that Cam burst out laughing and finished wrapping the shell he had been holding and set it in its own bin.
"On the cowriery(contrary), I should be making you parched."
Cam snickered at his terrible pun, it was stretching it but Kal wasn't the only one knowledgeable about shells. Though Cam only knew three shell types, triton, cowrie and conch. But at least he knew something. Cam saluted Kal with the cowrie shell he was holding before smirking and packaging it in its own bin.

Surfing in the sunset was somehow such a dreamy picture that Cam slowed down his packaging to imagine it for a moment. Or more like he remembered it, Cam had once before surfed during a sunset in Australia. It had been amazing. Cam sighed a bit and turned to return Kal's grin with his own.
"That sounds amazing, just give me a time and place and I'll whip out my wet suit. Though you have to lend me a board, or I'll rent one."
Cam really had his own wet suit, he had brought that with him from home. But he regretted now that he hadn't brought one of his surfboards with him.
What was the logic of bringing a wet suit but no board anyway? Damn, Cam sometimes really couldn't understand how his own mind worked.

Cam looked disappointed when Skye said she couldn't come, but saw the wink she sent his way. Cam raised one of his brows a bit but smiled and winked back when Kal wasn't watching. Skye was sharp, although that made Cam worried whether he was being too obvious.
"I've been called a ray of sunshine more than once, I bet I could shine through that storm cloud no problem. Shame we can't test it though."

Cam hadn't even realized how much time had passed, that was a common ocvurence when he was with Kal, and he observed the pile of packaged shells on his side of the room. Cam looked between his and Kal's pile, it really wasn't discernable which one of them was winning.
"You were right and wrong to challenge me into this. Right as in Lyrseir will flip her top in a good way because of my amazing organizing skills. Wrong as in I'll receive my first victory thanks to my amazing organizing skills."
Cam tried to look smug but failed, as all he said all that jokingly and chuckled a bit, picking up his pace a bit.

Yes Cam, you are very hot. That was what Kal felt like he should have said. But he couldn't, not yet. Instead he laughed at the statement and the use of yet another shell pun. "Pshh i've got plenty of water. Don't make me send some more of it your way to help cool things off." Yeah right, like that would cool anything off. It'd probably make things hotter. He had to take a second to remind himself that they were still doing a challenge and he packed a few more shells while waiting for Cam to respond about the surfing.

"Of course, i've got a couple spare boards. I've been letting Skye use one but I can wax another up for you before we go one evening," he said as he imagined how the surfing could go. Maybe he could... his thoughts trailed off as he nearly dropped one of the shells- a huge conch shell that had an unusual blue color to it. He quickly grabbed it and wrapped it up to keep it from breaking and then sighed in relief. That was close.

"Oh we can test that out some other time mister ray of sunshine. I'm pretty sure we're all going to be pretty good friends and stuff after this. There'll be plenty of times for me to smack you in the face with some storms. But, you two probably have your heads in the clouds as it is." She was chuckling at how both men kept seeming to get lost in their daydreams and wanted to gently remind them that they had a ways to go on the piles of shells.

Kal secretly thought that whether or not he actually won the challenge it was still going to be a huge success. "You're right, she's going to love this when it's done. But, I'm pretty sure i'm giving you a run for your money in this challenge. I'm nautilus-ing (not letting) you win it without a fight." Oh boy, were the puns getting terrible and amazing, but mostly terrible. He too picked up the pace as he tried to make sure he was at least matching Cam's.

Cam had been worried the joke about him being hot had gone too far, Cam tried to always make it obvious he was joking when he praised himself. He wasn't narcisistic or anything. But Kal seemed fine, and continued joking along, and Cam chuckled, partly out of relief.
"Oh no, anything but lukewarm seawater."
Cam said in a monotone voice and grinned at Kal. He also made a mental note that he should tone down with the jokes. Bad puns were fine, but no more jokes on the expense of his good looks.

"Oh, that's great. I should get my boards brought here. I hav- Watch out!"
Cam noticed Kal almost dropping the conch shell, and was already moving towards Kal in a vain attempt to catch it before it fell. There was few meters between Cam and Kal, there was no way he could've caught it. But Cam moved mostly out of reflex. Thankfully Kal caught the shell before it fell, and Cam sighed a bit from relief. Right before the shell he had been holding slipped from his grasp. Cam played hot potato with his shell for almost 10 seconds before he caught a proper hold of it. Cam's heart was pounding and he let out a slight shocked laugh.
"That was too close for comfort, geez."

Ernesto was observing the slight chaos the slipping shells had caused and shook his head a bit. These young ones, always in too much hurry to really slow down and concentrate. He rested his eyes on their finished work and enjoyed the sight of neatly lined bins. He almost smiled, which was rare.
Cam noticed the look in Ernesto's eyes, and the slight change in his aura, and smiled a bit. The old gruff was always in a nasty mood, it felt like an achievement whenever he showed positive emotion. Cam grinned at Skye and pressed his other hand on his cheek, looking innocent.
"My head is in the clouds? Well of course it is. I'm the sun, my place is in the clouds."
Cam snickered and kept on packaging shells. But Skye was right, in his head Cam was already on the beach, sitting on a board in the water, looking at the sunset, Kal by his side...
Cam's pace had quickened during this small fantasy and his arms and fingers were getting a bit tired. But he barely even noticed.

Cam raised a brow at the amazingly horrible, and horribly amazing, shell pun and laughed a bit. A for effort, it had been almost as bad as Cam's cowrie pun.
"Bring it on, muscles. I have a conch(hunch) that you'll make an exshellent opponent."
And Cam hits with double pun! Can Kaliyan answer this challenge?!

Kal had been so tempted to give Cam some of that 'lukewarm' sea water he was making fun of. Pshh his water was comfortably warm. But he wasn't going to risk making Cam drop the shells and wasn't going to do something that could have counted as cheating.

Kal had managed to keep his shell form falling and breaking, only to look up at the quickly approaching Cam and see him start to fumble with his shell. Skye was right. They needed to focus a little more and be careful. The whole thing would be a disaster if they started breaking shells and pissed of Lyrseir "Yeah, maybe we should save the rest of our planning until after the challenge. No one's going surfing if Lyrseir starts breaking legs." An angry dragon was no laughing matter but he did smirk a little. Lyrseir wasn't unreasonable- she'd definitely find a way to punish them but she probably wouldn't resort to something so brutal.

He chuckled at the banter between Skye and Cam, thrilled to see that his two friends seemed to be getting along very well. His own thoughts about a, possibly romantic, nice sunset surf session with Cam had to be pushed aside for the time being. He worked hard at packing more and more shells as the piles of loose shells retracted and the stacks of neat, organized bins grew on the other side.

A double pun challenge? well, that was just begging for a good response. Kal stuck his tongue out at Cam and flexed his arms a little. "Now sir, you know me well enough. I shell not go down without a fight. You mitre be good at organizing but in the end i'll have a tonna more bins done than you." A triple pun and the good old 'sir' inside joke. Kal was pulling out the big guns.

They were almost halfway through the hoard and it was pretty clear that they were very nearly neck and neck.

Cam nodded at Kal's words and carefully packaged the shell thay had almost met its maker. Cam hadn't had any experiences with angry dragons thus far, but judging from the full volume dragon roar he once heard Cam was pretty sure Lyrseir could at least give them one hell of a talking-to. And if she got it in her head to contact Cam's parents in any way he was going to get an even more ruthless talking-to from them as well. Just the thought made Cam shiver.
"Yeah, want to avoid that. My prosthetic was pretty expensive."
Cam grinned a bit at the prosthetic joke, it had just come out without thought.
"But I'm looking forward to it too much so I could manage to surf with one leg."

When Kal answered Cam with a barrage of puns Cam clucthed his chest dramatically and pretended to stagger back a step, falling to his knees. All the while he kept packaging and when he fell to his knees Cam set the bin on the ground and started a new row. And before Kal.
"Ruthless, absolutely ruthless."
Cam hopped back to his feet and packaged shell after another his narrowed eyes never leaving Kal.
"It's shelless to slap me in the face with your seashell knowledge like that. We shell sea which one of us emerges victorious from this battle, my good sir."
Cam tried to keep his face serious, but his lips quivered and he started snickering when he said the word sir. Was that joke ever going to die? God, Cam hoped not.

Cam observed his process, feeling quite satisfied despite him looking to be pretty much evenly matched with Kal. Cam always enjoyed it when things were in place.

Kal still felt a little weird about making prosthetic jokes himself but they seemed perfectly fine and funny when Cam said them. Though Kal would never let someone, even his own mother, break Cam's prosthetic if he could help it. For that matter he didn't want anyone to ever hurt Cam in any way. It was a strangely strong feeling and he had to blink as he thought it. Fuck, why did he feel so strongly about Cam and yet be so unsure how to do anything about it.

That was neither the time nor the place to bring it up either. They were neck deep in shells to sort and needed to finish before Lyrseir got off work. It was very possible she might check on her hoard or call Kal to do something and the whole thing could be ruined. Maybe he'd save the 'acting on his feelings' bit for the sunset surfing thing. At least it would be more private if it didn't go well.

"I think you could find a way to surf if you wanted to, no matter what," he said with an honest smile. He definitely believed that nothing could keep Cam down. "But if you needed me to i'd just carry you." Whoops, that slipped out and Kal quickly busied himself with moving several bins he had arrayed by him over to the correct neat stacks.

Kal actually was distracted by Cam's act enough that he had stopped packing shells while he laughed and enjoyed the spectacle. Skye too gave a whistle and applauded the scene before calling out that she was really enjoying the show but it wasn't supposed to be a drama challenge.

Kaliyan wasn't quite done though. "But Cam, if i'm shell-less i'm left all soft and squishy. Please have mercy on this poor defenseless mussel." With that he cackled and went back to work packing and organizing the shells. He had to work extra hard to try to make up for lost time.

Cam sent Kal a confident grin, when he said Cam would probably find a way to surf no matter what and Cam flexed his pathetic noodle arm and chuckled. He appreciated the fact that Kal's smile was honest, he understood Cam.
"You know it, I'm not missing it even if I lose both my legs."
Naturally Cam had no plans to lose even his already missing leg.
When Kal said that if needed he'd even carry him Cam turned to look at Kal a bit surprised, but the guy had turned away and was arranging bins. Cam smiled a bit and also turned away to keep packaging, his cheeks were just a tiny bit flushed.
"Be careful, I might actually make you carry me if I get too pooped."
Cam said jokingly and snickered.

Cam couldn't help himself and did a small bow towards Skye when she clapped, and blinked innocently when she reminded him this wasn't a drama challenge.
"But the drama lives within me, I cannot contain it. Do you tell fish not to swim, or wind not to blow?"
Cam took a dramatic tone, and though he made elaborate hand gestures he kept wrapping and packaging shells at the same pace. But Cam burst out laughing after this drama act and resumed packaging in a normal manner. Or as normal as Cam could get.

Cam was all out of seashell puns and just using the word shell over and over got old quick, so he lifted his arms as a sign of giving up and grinned.
"This one time I shell spare you some mercy."
Cam turned back to his work, chuckling, and glanced at Kal over his shoulder. Cam tried matching his pace and maybe go bit faster.
