She seemed to be calming down, at least. Félix didn't know much of what else he could do to cheer her up. He could try singing, but that'd sooner drive her insane with joy than actually bring her to normal. Félix supposed she didn't need his help anyway, just needed him to leave and let her own feelings and thoughts dominate her mind.

On the other hand, he thought they were making progress. Both of them. “I don't think solitude is best for me, anyway,” Félix forgave her. “Let's try to our minds off of this,” he suggested. Often when he played music, he could ignore those depressing moments. But it was hard to sit at a piano with dark tendrils sticking every which way from him. Only now did they drastically recede.

“Were you hunting in here?” Félix referred to the slain stag. It was easily the largest deer he had ever seen. Everything in this forest was monstrous. But that didn't mean Félix or this girl had to feel the same way.

“I have not hunted before. Perhaps you can show me how?”

"Okay... Thanks." Agnés spoke the words that were still quiet to the point of her not being sure if those words had even registered to his ears. She let out a sigh, finally starting to feel normal agian, well, as normal as a monster could feel.

She brought her face out from behind her knees and rested her chin on them and looked at the fallen beast. "Yea I-" she had to stop and clear her throat. Her voice had been becoming quiet to the point that she couldn't even feel it any more. "I was. He's a real big guy, eh? I don't know if I ever saw one so dire when I was at home. I hope his meat is as good as back home, I've been told european deer tastes different from canadian deer, I hope the animals here don't taste too strange." She looked up to him, managing a face that no other person would consider a smile but it was the closest she could manage.

"Have you ever had venison before?" It seemed like people from cities were more likely to have tried horse over venison to her.

She wasn't surprised when he said he had never hunted before, most boys who weren't farm boys had never hunted in their lives and they always asked to go hunting, he really was just a normal city boy.

"Oh, umm." She looked up to him for a moment, wondering if he was made up of the stuff to follow through with a hunt. "Well..." she paused for a moment, taking his hand that had been on her back a moment ago, and using it to pick herself up off of the ground. Now that she was standing next to him she realized just how tall he was, or maybe how short she was.

She turned her attention to the stag and took at step towards it, looking back to Félix. "Well I guess the first lession is not to bag anything you're not sure just how you're going to get home. After all the forest isn't full of cute boys that can lift them over your head." Her eyes got a little bit wide as she realized what she had said and looked back to the stag feeling her face going a little red, hoping he hadn't noticed what she had said. Already she could feel her chest getting tight again as she mentally kicked herself. "Unfortunately I can't give you the next lesson until we get back to town and show you what is normally the first lesson, it involves a chicken." It was actually what she normally did as the first lesson to scare off the boys who couldn't actually kill a living creature, since they could never know until they were face to face with the question. She didn't see a point in going through the steps if he was just going to chicken out at the last moment.

Looking down at herself now she felt over taken by a new dread. She was covered in blood, she'd known that, but now it was different. She hugged herself, in some feeble attempt to hid her front, she looked back to him not daring to turn. "Say do you happen to know if there's a river or a stream around here?" She really needed to wash off the filth if she was going to continue talking with someone.

Félix didn't know much about the taste of game, at least not by any distinction between European and Canadian. She was right too, that Félix did not have an experienced palate for game, but he did at least break one stereotype, “I've had elk, and some grouse and quail. But not much.” Back at the estate, his grandfather had occasionally hunted. By the time Félix was born, his excursions were infrequent. Seeing as Félix's father had little interest in hunting, the pastime largely died out in his family.

He did think it interesting, however. But Agnés was right to suspect him of not knowing what it would take. Though whether it meant he couldn't was a different story.

Her first lesson did not fall on deaf ears, and unfortunately for her Félix caught not only her words but a bit of her immediate reaction. He didn't blush, but his eyes turned down to the ground a bit out of shyness. He could hear his brother's voice in his head laughing at him, but oh well.

“They're a rarity in this forest,” Félix quipped. Hopefully it'd lighten her mood. Her other issue was a little more tangible, as Félix did know where she could wash off. “There's a lake at the edge, to the South side of the forest. I came from that direction, if you want to wash up there.” The lake had recently melted its layer of ice. No more skating, but it also meant it was still too cold for most people to want to swim. There was a good degree of privacy.

Félix hardly processed the blood on her. It only just dawned on him how much of it covered her. Not so much on the back though, given his hand remained mostly clean. His main concern was her mood, whether she still felt his lingering worries or if she was presenting her own. At least she was moving, and joking around a bit.

“I haven't caught your name yet, by the way. I'm Félix.”

She gave a sigh, she wasn't surprised that there wasn't much, it was an island after all and fresh water was a rarity, nothing like back home. When he said that he had never had venison before a part of her wanted to fix that as quickly as possible. When he followed up that there was a lake not to far to the south that lightened her heart a bit, but still her stomach was in nots she was worried about something, it occured to her after a few moments that the worry might have been coming from him and been about her.

"I think going to the lake can wait for a few." She was about to start walking away from him and towards the stag when he introduced himself, bringing into stark releif her complete lack of mannors. Turning on her heels to face him. She smiled at him her face moderately flushed with the embarisment she was feeling. "My name is Agnés, Agnés Côté. It is an honour to make your aquaintance." As she spoke she curtsied, pulling up the hem of her stained tunic slightly as she did so, all the while bowing her head slightly.

Agnés stepped upto Félix and gently took his hand. "I think we can actually have lession two right now actually." She turned and started walking towards the stag, tugging on him, beconing him to follow her. As she came upto the beast she crouched down besides him. Gingerly she produced a folding knife that had been attatched to the belt loop on the booty shorts that she had been wearing for the sake of being somewhat modest. Carefully she ran her hand over the fur of the animal feeling for something, until she stopped finding her mark, and carefully with the knife she cut into the fur, once than twice. She pulled back a triangular section of skin and fur revealing the meat of the animal. Silently and purposfully she cut the meat, taking just two small peices out of the still warm animal. Silently she placed the knife down on the ground, while in her other hand she crattled the two small peices of tip steak, each of them about two centimetres long and half a centimetre at their widest.

She turned to him while still crouching on the ground. "You should try some like this, it's really good I promise." She spoke the words to him in all censarity to him before plucking one of the cuts out of her own palm, and slowly put it into her mouth, the flavour of the meat striking her in an instant, reminding her of everything good at home, even if this meat tasted like it had ever so subtle hints of oranges to her, all the while a little of the blood that had been on her fingures transfered to her light pink lips and turned them to a deep scarlet. All the while she beamed up at him expectantly hoping that he would try it and love it as much as she did.

An honour? Félix didn't imagine she had such a formality to her. Even her city folk did not pull out all the stops with a slight bow and curtsy. It was Félix's turn to be embarrassed, thinking his own introduction was sorely underwhelming. “Félix Tenebre, the honour is mine,” like returning to ride a bicycle after so many years, Félix had not forgotten how to gracefully bow. It was a little awkward without a shirt, however. Touching his hand to his chest reminded him of how bare he felt.

He blushed slightly when she took his hand, though even a slight blush on a white face was quite extreme. That blush disappeared quickly the moment he realized what she was about to do. Félix watched in silence when Agnés cut into the fresh deer, carefully measuring out two pieces of flesh. He wasn't sure he liked where this was going...

Félix did accept the piece of deer from Agnés, smiling gratefully. He hesitated greatly to put it in his mouth, however. Félix had steak tartare before. Raw meat wasn't a complete mystery to him, but he never tried something right out of the wild and certainly not venison like this. He knew nothing of the geography either. Were animals relatively clean and healthy in this forest? They certainly weren't... natural.

“Here it goes,” Félix exhaled and relaxed, before shoving the piece in his mouth. This was definitely an acquired taste. From a glance at his face, Agnés could see he was struggling to accept its rich flavour. He chewed it for a long, long time, partially debating whether he could stomach to swallow it. One of his most prominent thoughts was whether eating this would cause a mutation in himself.

He pulled his hand away from his mouth, eventually getting used to its bloody taste. He swallowed it, scrunching his face a little. “It's-” Félix hesitated, “It's an acquired taste for me. I apologize.” All the same, he had a strange itching to try it again. He glanced back at the deer, almost hungrily.

He added thoughtfully, “Rosemary and peppercorn, I'm thinking. I've never made venison tartare.” He wiped his mouth of the traces of blood, his tongue still washing his teeth of the same stain. All the same, he desperately hoped he wouldn't be sick from this.

He looked to Agnés expectantly, smiling meekly.

She couldn't help but giggle a little as he said how it was an aquired taste. "Oh you city boys." Agnés shook her head a little bit in mock disapointment, after all he didn't recoil at the offer and he didn't spit it out, for his first time that was pretty good, not great, but good.

As she stayed looking up at him she uncountiously touched her hair, playing with its strands curling them around her finger. "I'm sure you'll come to like it, if you give it a fair chance." She looked down, retreaving her knife and wiping it clean on the hem of her tunic, and turning when she went to attach it once more to the belt loop of her shorts. Lifting it so that he could have a full view of her legs, she kept her face pointed down, acting as though she was working on getting the knife securely attached, all the while doing her best to spy a glance of his reaction. After a long moment of her faking strugling with the knife and the belt loop she finally let them attach and dropped her tunic down to where it naturally fell half way down her tigh.

"So... this lake? Just how far would you saw it is? And more importantly would you say that it's quicker to get back to town from here or the lake?" She looked around, realizing that after her ride with the deer she wasn't exactly sure just how to get out of the forest.

Glancing behind her to the deer once more, Agnés grimiced at what she was about to say, she hated herself for it. "Umm, you moved the deer before right? I'm, uh, not sure if I can get it that far by just myself, he's rather larger than I had first thought." She was feeling ashamed of herself while the words came out, she didn't want to be asking these things of someone she'd just met, this was truely her mess and she needed to be the one to get herself out of it, but that would mean leaving most of the animal here since there was no way that she'd be able to get the deer home before large sections of it went rancid.

Félix nearly wanted to object to living in the city. He lived on its outskirts! But ultimately, he was likely no different to Agnés from the city dwellers. Félix never worked a hard day of labour in his life like she did. At least, in the grand scheme of things, he seemed to impress her enough not to be disappointed in him. He swallowed the meat, albeit with some difficulty. That earned him points in her book.

Félix observed her knife with some interest, both as she wiped it down and set it on her belt. What he didn't realize was how long it was taking her to settle it on her belt, and just how long he had been staring right at her thigh. The moment it clicked, Félix silently looked away before the blush on his face turned him purple. She was clever enough to linger, or else Félix would never have caught on.

He crossed his arms, one of his hands pretending to wipe his mouth when he just wanted to cover a good chunk of his face. “I think they're about the same distance? The lake really isn't far from here. Probably better to wash up before you go to town, anyway.” Félix put in his best mental effort not to imagine her undressing to clean up.

Fortunately, she quickly asked him about the deer. It was pretty obvious what she was asking from him. On one hand, it would be a waste to let even a part of the deer rot. On the other, he suspected she might be trying to keep him around longer. A part of him wanted to mention Konishi, but... she was part of the reason he was driven to this forest in the first place.

So his answer was a yes. “I can carry it, if you'd like,” Félix smiled, perhaps a little proudly, “I wouldn't call myself cute, but I can do in a pinch.”

Agnés felt her spirits lift when she just barely saw him look away and the tint of his skin out of the corner of her eye. Félix seemed to like what he saw.

Thinking for a moment Agnés came to the conclusion that she should bring the deer with them, it would be such a waste if some scavenger managed to steal part of her kill. Stepping into Félix's personal space, clasping her hands together bringing them to her cheek and tilting her head as she looked up at him. "Oh really, are you sure that it wouldn't be too much trouble? I don't really want to put any undue hardship on you." She did her best to keep her eyes as big as she could and speak in her sweetest voice and capped it off with a smile.

After a moment Agnés stepped away from Félix and took a few steps away from him, very clearly walking north, though the entire time thinking that she was heading towards the lake. Humming a little song to herself.

“N-No, not at all,” her closeness wasn't helping his pigmentation, at all. What had gotten into her? Didn't she say she only experienced dark emotions? Granted, Félix wasn't nearly in the same level of good spirits, but the dramatic shift of mood did alarm him a little. Sadly, Félix was already committed to helping her carry the deer. Her being cute didn't help the matter.

As Félix produced his dark tentacles wrapped them around the carcass, he noticed Agnés heading South. “Um, hey,” Félix called out to her. He pointed in quite the opposite direction, “The lake is South, remember?”

Félix led the way South, tracing his steps back until they reached the edge of the forest and a surprisingly large lake in front of them. Félix never thought there'd be such a freshwater pool on such a small island, but there it was. It was also virtually untouched, still too cold for any long-term swimming or anything beyond a quick wash.

He dropped the carcass near the forest edge, away from the sandy and rocky beach. His tendrils carefully tipped into the water, examining just how cold the lake was and washing away some of the blood. As his tendrils tipped in the water, Félix's own body shivered a little. “It's quite cold, still,” he warned Agnés.

Agnés froze for a moment before stopping and turning around, a laughing smile on her face. "Of course I knew that, it was a, uh, test. That's right I was testing your sense of direction and you passed, with a B+" She hurried back to Félix's side and watched as he manafested his third arm, lift the deer with an ease that frankly took her breath away for a moment. "A-are you sure that you're ok? It's not too too heavy is it?" She felt bad about having him carry the deer for him, but she wasn't sure what she could do other wise, maybe remove a leg, but beyond that she wasn't sure what she could really do.

As Félix set off Agnés was surprised at the pace he was setting, she figured it was because of the weight of the deer on him, and that thought only made her feel worse about what she had asked him to do, was the strain going to be too much on him she wondered. She bit her lip as she struggled did her best to keep his pace. Until suddenly she nearly ran into his back side.

Peering around him she saw the sandy shore of a beach as he was setting the deer down on the ground. Followed by his test of the water by their side that had seemed to her to come out of no where. She popped around to be in front of him again. "Now..." She said seriously a grim look on her face. "You're not going to peek on me are you?" She stood on the balls of her feet to do her best to look him in the eye. "Because that'd be really rude, and girls don't like rude guys, you understand, right?"

Agnés turned just than on her heel not waiting for a response from him. She jogged a scant fifteen metres from him before coming to a bush that was growing just on the edge of the shore and would give her more than enough privacy.

Kneeling on the edge of the water she slipped her shirt off and looked at the damage from a new angle, she sighed, even if she managed to get the blood out the two holes in it meant the shirt was a goner anyways. She plunged it into the water, and felt a chill run through her instantly, the water was frigged, but it looked so inviting. "You're not peaking are you?" She called out to him in jest, in all honesty it wouldn't be that bad if it was just a little peak, after all no harm no foul right?

The more she looked out at the lake as she scrubbed the more she wanted to go for a swim, when she looked down at her own reflection she saw a dirty woman who really needed to be cleaned up. This was a sign, a quite literal one she thought. She stood up and looked around the bush was full of thistles and burs so it wouldn't work and the sand under her feet was completely saturated with the water so that was out as well. When she looked up there she noticed a low hanging branch.

Agnés jumped up just managing to snag the branch and pull it down. First she tossed the wet shirt over it. "Seriously no peeking." She called out to him. Once she was sure that he wasn't looking she undid the clasp that was hidden under a small pink bow on her white bra, tossing it over the branch as well quickly followed by the shorts and matching pair of panties. Slipping out of her shoes and socks she cast a quick glance to where Félix was and then quickly slid into the lake.

Agnés gasped as the cold water hit her skin. She felt around with her toes, and was surprised at just how quickly the shore fell away. she was only a metre out and yet she could almost stand with out revealing herself. She splashed the water on her face, it was so refreshing, she loved the feeling even if the water was frigged, all it did was remind her of the polar bear dip.

Agnés puttered around in the water for another minute before feeling the wind picked up sending a new chill through her body. Looking back to her suspended cloathing she watched in horror as the branch moved, the wind managing to snatch each article of cloathing off of it. Her shorts didn't manage to travel very far the knife weighing it down. falling to the ground just two metres past the bush. The wet shirt managed to travel further catching on the breeze, traveling half way to him, and going further up beach closer to the line of the trees. Her underwear was the true horror show for her, the bra moving through the air like a snake seamed to slither its way landing at his feet, and the other half of the set, oh god, she couldn't watch. She covered her eye all she could do was let out an eep sound when she tried to warn him of the horrible thing about to happen. Oh god, what was he going to think of her now, this was the worst possible out come for the day. Why did she have to do something so stupid. Now her unmentionable were going to get him right in the head. She contemplated swimming to the bottom of the lake and simply hiding there until he left.
