Félix almost felt insulted being asked not to peek. “Of course I won't,†he objected hotly. He was far too much a proper man for that. He may be shirtless and wandering through the woods, but he at least had some semblance of civility left in him. No monstrous creature possessing his soul would change.
To prove his point, Félix turned away from the lake so the only thing facing Agnés was his long white hair. He kept his eyes trained on and around the deer carcass, ignoring the splashing of water behind him. It was... unfortunately true that he was tempted to try and sneak one small look, but his courtesy and self-control won out.
“I'm not peeking,†Félix blushed in mild frustration, though he knew she was just teasing. He was starting to wonder if she wanted him to look. No... he wouldn't. This was already far too scandalous for him, having seen so much leg and leading a girl to bathe near him. And all these advances from her, to a taken man no less! But still he played along, and not just for her sake.
Félix was finally settling himself in on the rock when he heard a branch snap in the distance. He didn't dare look, though he could hear Agnés still splashing in the lake. Immediately after, Agnés gave out a shrill cry. She didn't ask for help, but Félix still worried. What came next, in that strong breeze, answered Félix's worrying question.
First it was her bra landing by his feet. Félix looked away from it for a moment, his face hot. He reached out with his foot to hold it in place, but otherwise he avoided looking at it.
And then it hit him right on the head. Félix could not bear to wonder what it was. He pulled it from his hair with just the tip of his fingers and, against all reason, checked what it was. His skin turned nearly purple. “Uh, umm-â€Â
With with a thin tendril, Félix gingerly grabbed both pieces of underwear and, like some crab, shuffled sideways towards both the beach and the bush she changed in. Along the way, he found her tunic as well. Oh dear... He picked it up with another tendril.
“I'll – I'll just put this right back!†Félix stammered. He continued his little shuffle until he found her shorts as well. Without a word, he placed them back on another branch, wrapping them around it to try and keep them in place.
“There,†he sighed, still keeping his head turned from Agnés. He went straight back to his rock and sat in that same position, trying to let the blood come out of his face. “I'm still not peeking,†he insisted.
