Aura nodded. "It's nice to meet you Live. I've only been off of the islets for about two weeks so I haven't met too many people yet," she answered in a fairly quiet tone of voice. Hiding the fact that she had been on the islets wasn't really a thing she bothered with any more. She took a step or two closer to Live as they spoke.

"Did you, um, come here for the celebration or just wander in like I did?" She was curious since Live seemed to be eating and drinking but she'd come over to where there weren't a lot of people to talk to or hang out with. Aura was on there there herself because she had wanted a nice open area where she could walk up near the fire without bumping into people.

Roldan nodded and grinned at Celeste and moved in for a hug and kissing her on the cheek in return. "Yeah, pretty easily. Good sense of smell, so ya know."

She looked gorgeous, he had to admit. But then again she always seemed to. Maybe he was just biased. But he really liked this casual look she had going on. "Sorry if I kept you waiting. I'm all yours for the night though, so we can do whatever you want."

Celeste grinned, she hadn't thought about his dragon's ability to catch her scent. "I guess that means I can't play and hide and seek with you," she remarked with a laugh as she slipped an arm through his comfortably.

"I was here early, you really didn't keep me waiting," she told him as Celeste started off along the water's edge for a bit. Thinking they could sit down in a bit and enjoy the bonfire, or they could find a place nearby and watch the fire from a distance. It was pretty impressive actually, she wondered if they had used some sort of magic on it so it burned longer and brighter.

"I wanted to check out everything, see what they had, and all that," she explained as she looked at Roldan, "I was thinking we could go for a walk along the beach until the music starts up if that's okay with you?"

"The islets?" Live questioned. She wasn't that familiar with them, tho she knew they existed. She didn't really think much lived out there. She had heard a rumor or two at school about them but never paid much attention. It didn't seem to pertain to her that much.

As Aura took a couple steps closer, Live shifted her weight, shifting ever so slightly away from the girl. It was a mostly unconscious move. She wasn't that comfortable with people getting close to her unless she decided she wanted to be close to them.

"Wandered in," She shrugged, "I was gonna leave until I saw free food."

Aura stopped getting closer as soon as she noticed Live shifting away from her a little. She hadn't meant to make her uncomfortable. "You probably know it better as 'Juvie Island' or the 'Behavioral Corrections Facility' if you want to use the whole long official name for it," she answered with a sigh. She didn't really like calling it either of those things. Juvie Island made it sound like it was just for kids and the other name was too long to use in conversation.

Aura looked around at the rest of the people and the various tables and such laid out. She couldn't enjoy almost any of the food and drinks but she understood how others would be happy to have them. "Free food is a good enough reason. I didn't really mean to come here but I was wandering by and saw the fire so... here I am. I might stay just for the live music though," she shrugged too as she dragged one of her bare feet through the sand a little. Enjoying the feel of it. Her shoes were tied together and hanging over her shoulder.

"That sounds perfect," Roldan said, taking Celeste's arm in his own and moving to walk along the beach with her. The night was cool and he kept his heat to a minimum so he didn't take away from the crispness of the evening.

"It's nice out here. We don't really celebrate Samhain, not traditionally anyway. I partake as part of the island's culture, but it's not really a thing for dragons to celebrate gods."

"What about you? Is this sort of thing normal in your family? I know you have your kids and your... niece, right? Zoraida del Bosque?"

"I never considered that before," she remarked thoughtfully when Roldan told her about dragons not celebrating the gods as they walked slowly along the wet sand. It was cool under her feet, but she loved the feeling of the sand under her. "I guess dragons are kind of like gods in way, or god-like," she reasoned.

At his question, Celeste nodded, "Zori, and my father, Rafael, we three all celebrate the Celtic gods. It's part of our heritage, and who were are in a way..." she told him. "My father is a forest druid, one of the last surviving ones from his time actually," she explained as she looked at Roldan, thinking he looked very handsome tonight with the full moon lighting his features.

"My children don't follow these gods, nor would I ask them to," she said, "Ebviony is fae, Shale is from another realm, and Azure, well, he's still a bit of a mystery, but he didn't want to come, so I didn't force him," Celeste explained as she walked comfortably next to Roldan.

"What about your daughter?" she asked him curiously.

"Oooh... That place." She had been threatened with Juive Island once or twice in high school. How she had avoided it was beyond her. Maybe she just got better at hiding her 'issues'.

"What did they nab you for?" She asked causally before taking a drink. She really wished she had something to spike it with.

"Live music can be...fun." Kind of. Depended on the music. She doubted they would bust out anything she would like. But yah never know.

Aura took a step back. She should have expected that question. It was a thing she needed to be ok with explaining because it was going to keep coming up again and again any time her past came up. She took a deep breath and then exhaled before answering.

"I guess I should start by saying i'm a werewolf," she began as she opened her mouth wide to show her wolfish fangs that were there even in human form. "I... well I guess to put it simply I killed some people. It took a long time to get myself to where I am now," she said, trying very hard not to show how difficult it was to admit she had killed people out loud. It was especially difficult because of the holiday. She didn't realize it but she was absently scratching at her wrist again.

But she had also been talking about live music and that was a good subject to switch back to. A fun subject that hopefully wouldn't drive this woman away, thinking Aura was a horrible depression magnet or something. She rubbed at her eye with a finger and shook her head a little. "I love hearing music live. It's so much better in person and I can't wait to experience more of it now that I can go to all the clubs and things on the island." Her music preferences were pretty much all over the place. Kind of what happens when you spend years listening to anything you can get your hands on.

Live stared blankly as Aura explained herself a bit more. Her expression didn't give away much of her thought. She waited until the girl was completely done talking before she responded.

"Everyone has gotta die somehow. Some from old age and others by werewolves." She took another sip and then narrowed her eyes at the cup. Maybe she had something in her backpack she could add. It wasn't uncommon for there to be a shot or two of something in a flask next to her sketchbook and pens.

She set her now empty plate on the sand and then her cup on top of it, making sure they were stable before she slid her backpack from her shoulders and began to rummage through it.

"Glad you've got something to look forward to." The comment almost sounded sarcastic but Live meant it, in a weird kind of way. It probably sucked being on Juvie Island and the girl was probably in need of something refreshing.
