Caspians smile faltered slightly as he began talking, "That's a bit cruel don't you think? I mean... It's harsh..." She said as she lowered her head, her gloves giving a softer amber glow than before as she looked back up at him, her smile returning to her face, "Well... To be honest... There's not much about me.... I'm just... Me," She said before giving a bright smile, "Unless you count my shyness and the fact I birth swords out of anywhere," She said giving a soft sigh before she looked up her eyes bright, "Oh... I think it's called... 20 questions or something like that...?" She said holding her chin as she gave a light shrug, "I've only heard about it... But I know it's what it sounds like..." She said giving a hopeful smile before she took another chip quickly, her gloves now glowing a bright teal color as she gave a look down at them, shoving them under the table, "Or maybe the fact my gloves give away what I'm feeling..." She said lowering her head slightly as her silver hair cascaded down the front of her silver eyes, covering her face.

"That's entirely subjective," Vidi responded, turning his gaze to his glass to watch the ice tumble inside. His eyes seemed distant depsite his presence still there. "Some of us have... different ways to cope. It's not entirely cruel."

For a moment, Vidi's eyes flickered back to Caspian, gauging her s she continued to speak. She smiled a lot -- most people the demon know smiled a lot but her smile was simply that sort. It was the kind that bothered him for some reason he could never really put down. For now, Vidi decided not to thqink about it too much.

"Twenty questions? I'm probably terrible at it -- mostly because they say I'm too insensitive for it." Vidi took a quiet sip off his drink for a moment, just enough for the words to sink in for the girl, but even his eyes already turned to the glow of the gloves. "I wouldn't mind playing -- and since you already brought it up: what is it about those gloves?"

Caspian gave a little sigh as she brought them up, "Well... As I hope you can tell... They're meant to stop my power from working in the case I touch something. The backfire that comes from having this power is like when you trap something, it just needs to get out... Or it kills me..." She said bringing her hands up to lay on the table, "And, only recently have they glowed, Amber or orange is basically saying I'm sad or troubled, or lying... Not that I would... And blue... It's happy..." She said looking down at them before giving a little sigh, picking up another chip as she looked down at her lap, "And, the scientists that experimented on me gave them to me..." She looked up at Vidi with a soft smile, a forced one, but one nonetheless, "If I may ask, what's your occupation? Well... I mean... Why were those people so over the top about you sticking to a schedule, are you famous or something?" She said giving a soft giggle as she picked up another chip, sipping the Ice Tea slowly this time.

Vidi kept to himself as Caspian talked; his gaze was on her gloves, but he kept himself from talking by keeping his mouth on the straw of his drink. His head titled at the little phrase she seemed to keep to herself but also said nothing. For now at least. He nodded with understanding, occasionally pulling his drink away to stir it around.

He would have said something before Caspian turned a question to him but the way she smiled stilled him, letting whatever thought he was about to say die in his throat. Vidi was well versed with insincere smiles, and as much as he wanted to say nothing could ever faze him anymore, there was something about forced smiles that brought back his inner child, even for just a moment.

When he was brought back to the present, he had another issue to discuss. It wouldn't have shown on his face but the way he'd gently set his glass down seemed to say what was in his mind. "I wouldn't say 'occupation'," he said, hesitating before he proceeded. Honestly though, he wouldn't want to be that guy to go around shouting to everyone who asked that Hey guys, look at me--I just took over the Rosales Gang!

Vidi shook the idea away. "And no, I'm not famous--no way," he said, letting himself chuckle even so slightly. It came out a little awkward, not even mentioning the way he averted his gaze, he seemed a little less than enthused about the idea of being too known. "Let's just say, my family's in the business and... they think I should follow in my parents' footstep. If anything, I'm just a random college kid," he explained, waving his hand dismissively. To Vidi himself, he was nothing more than just that--at least until it all sinks in. He reached for his glass instinctively, only to realize there was nothing but ice left.

Brushing off the gesture, he simply sunk back into his seat, his elbows on the armrest, he turned his attention back to Caspian. "So... you said something about birthing swords?"

Caspian listened to him as he spoke but gave a small laugh as he said 'random college kid' before she looked at him before she leaned forward a bit, taking a sip of her drink, "I don't think your just a "Random college kid," you've been nice to me so far... More than I can say for some other people..." She said letting out a sigh before she gave a soft smile, the fake one fading away in the process.

It took a second to compose herself at the sudden mention of birthing swords, "Y-Yes... Well... I-I was meant to be a sort of test phase for an experiment in designing superhumans... Or from what I'm told... But the guy you saw... Or more or less met... Is what I was supposed to become... H-His power I mean... Not a guy..." She said looking away for a quick second before she let out a soft sigh, her silver hair cascading over her face as she moved some behind her ear, "He's able to pull swords out of thin air, well, more or less a portal... It runs in his family, and they were trying to obtain that power for themselves when they made me... But, me being a failure I was cast aside but kept alive for "Research Purposes" from what I was told..." She looks down at her lap as tears swell in her eyes as she quickly wipes them away, pulling out a fake smile as she turned up to give him a grin, "Sorry, not nice to see a girl cry," She said giving a forced laugh at her own joke.

Vidi looked back to Caspian with a blank look against her soft smile. Nice? Him? "Sounds like you've been with bad company," he spoke in response to her comment. "I think I've been in better company enough to say... I'm actually on the worse bunch. I'd say that as a warning, I guess."

The hellion sighed himself, heavier than the girl's, most definitely, after she'd given her answer to his query. He was familiar with the way she spoke--from how he's been trying to pay attnetion to behavior, he did those minor pauses before. He still did but he'd been learning to be more self-aware, but he still had instances when he did. Often when uncomfortable. Strike one, he noted.

"Well, at least you're not being kept for research now. Live a little. Not sure what my guys doing to them but he'll be very busy to bother you today," he said, casually picking up his empty glass and playing with the straw and ice. "And nothing's wrong with crying. Bad memories tend to do that," he said, almost distantly, trying to focus his thoughts onto the clinking of the ice of the glass than anything else it could drift to.

He let a moment of quiet pass before he liftefd his gaze back up at her. "Your turn to ask."

Caspian smiled lightly towards him before he said he was one of the bad bunch, "Well, sorry to say, but I don't take warnings very well, they more or less go over my head, especially stupid ones," She said her sudden boost of courage catching her off guard as she blushed a bit, "Sorry about that..." She said giving an awkward laugh before he reminded her it was her turn.

She quickly looked up at him catching his eyes before she diverted it, her blush growing, "If you don't mind me asking, what species are you? And before you say it, I've only read so much about species in books I was given," She said quickly before she took a deep breathe in then out, going back to drinking the Ice Tea in front of her before she took another chip, "Oh... And do you have a girlfriend..." She said the last bit quietly in almost a whisper as she internally slapped herself. Of course, he does! Don't be stupid... She thought to herself as she held her breath, looking into his eyes quickly before pulling it down towards her gloves, glowing a very bright blue as it seemed to pulse, quickly shoving them under the table.

A small grin made its way to Vidi's face at her response, but he raised his hand to cover it out of view (not that it did). A voice in his head echoed the sentiment. That makes two of us, he replied in his head. Vidi wasn't great at choosing his sort of company and people have told him off for it; it was amusing to meet someone who shared that tendency even after a warning had been given. He only waved his hand to her, meaning to dismiss her apology but couldn't say it.

Once she'd turned a question to him, Vidi's eyes stayed on her for a moment. No, it wasn't an odd question; everyone did ask him often that. At least the first one. He'd learned demons didn't all look the same and some non-demons tended to look similar to him in some respects. "Demon," he replied, rather nonchalantly. "Halfling really but, it's quicker to say that since..." choosing not to say it, he simply gestured to himself. "The guys told me once I look more draconic so I don't blame you if it wasn't easy to tell."

As for the second one. "And... no, I don't." Vidi had a boyfriend but... it's been really weird the past couple of months. Sid has come and go a few occasions but the elf had been rather more scarce since the gang had taken up more of Vidi's time. The demon wondered if it was fault on his part. A shadow passed his eyes for a moment as the thought crossed his mind before remembering he had company.

Vidi pulled a small smile -- evidently a polite one. "That's two questions though," he stated, letting the smile fade into something more of a smirk. "So let me turn that question around: are you seeing someone?"

Caspian smiled lightly at his reply, "Well, Demons look very different, and since your a halfling I wouldn't be surprised if you looked the way you do," She said as her eyes widened in horror a bit, "N-Not that's there's any problem with it, you look perfect...ly fine..." She said saving herself as a deep red blush crept onto her cheeks, diverting her attention downwards before he pointed out she had asked two questions, "Oh.. Sorry about that, I got ahead of myself..." She said quickly before he turned the question on her, the blush deepening to the point her whole face lit up.

"N-N-No... I-I mean... I only have one made friend here so far... Well, make that two... But I haven't seen much of the other person... So no... I mean, I don't know what people would see in me anyways, I'm always stuffing things up since I don't know much about... Anything for that matter, I guess I'll just be destined to spend my days walking the earth in my loneliness," She said giving a forced smile, she had left out the part of kissing her friend on the cheek, since it was nothing at all, he was her friend, and nothing was going to happen. As she thought about that memory her cheeks brightened up again, "W-Well scratch that... I kissed my friend on the cheek... I mean... It was in the heat of the moment and... Umm... Just ignore me..." She said looking down. Way to go Caspian, ruin every chance you have, say everything that doesn't need to be said. Moron. He most likely thinks your weird in every sense of the word, chances down the drain. The thought echoed in her mind as she cast her head down to the empty glass of Ice Tea she didn't know she finished, "He most likely thinks I'm weird... Maybe even doesn't want to hang out anymore... Guess that's just how it happens..." She said as her eyes and face had lost all the emotion she had on before, basically putting herself into Auto-Pilot mode as she looked down at her chips, "Your turn since you got another one to ask," She said forcing a smile through her blank face.

An amused smile crawled its way into the demon's features as he watched the girl's glow red. He knew he shouldn't be laughing but something about the situation made him laugh. Was it weird? Maybe; but he had always been really strange to most people. Inwardly at least. Since moving to the island, most people only ever said to find his appearance 'unique' or otherwise a non-issue. "I'm learning to come to terms with it," he muttered under his breath before finally falling quiet to listen to her reply.

"Just two friends?" Vidi mused aloud, setting his glass on the table, ice already completely melted. "Then again, I can't say the same for myself. I don't have a lot to call friends either. But someone once told me no one's really destined for loneliness, so you shouldn't be so hard on yourself," he added, somewhat casually despite his distant gaze, only blinking away once Caspian spoke again.

The demon only blinked. Once, twice, almost like he was thinking of what to say to the revelation. "A kiss on the cheek is nothing, if you asked me," he told her, "I stabbed my..." Boyfriend? Ex-boyfriend? "a friend on our first meeting--he wasn't ever mad about it. I'm sure your friend would understand a little kiss."

Looking back up, he tried to search her eyes, but he could tell she was already hiding her thoughts from him. Not that he ever had the ability to read anyone's minds. Regardless, "On that note... do you like this friend of yours?"
