Afraid of the dark? How strange, but not uncommon among humans. Yesterday himself had four modes; day vision, night vision, heat vision and radiation. He could switch between the three at will, but he knew human night vision was limited and culturally, according to the books he read, they'd been long afraid of night and thought of it as a scary and mystical thing.

"I can walk you back to your home, if you'd like." That way he'd be safe and sound, and he wouldn't need to wander in the dark alone. As for Yesterday, his night vision made the dark a regular thing and he could wander the streets as he pleased. In fact, he always did; he had no home or station to go to.

"T-That's um." He blinked a bit too fast, as the thought of having a cute boy take him home was a bit too exciting. Would Yesterday try something on the way home? Try to steal a kiss from his virgin lips? Maybe he was an animal and wanted to go straight into the bed? Who knew.

Maylynn raised his head off of his shoulder. "I just live in the school dorms; w-with no roommate so you don't have to worry about that." He patted his hair down nervously with his other hand, wondering if he looked alright. Thankfully, in no time at all, his blush would be hard to see.

Maylynn stood with confidence, as he looked over his shoulder to Yesterday. "I-I guess you can walk me home, and stuff." His eyes darted to the opposite side as he waited for their unique walk home to begin.

School dorms, huh? Yesterday quickly opened a map in his head and cursory search told him where, exactly, it was along with the exact coordinates. It was pretty easy to pin that sort of thing down and he nodded. "Okay, I can bring you there." It was a somewhat well lit area, was Maylynn still afraid?

So Yesterday stood, giving the sunset one last glance as it began to dip low enough that the edges of the sky were stained blue, before nodding. "Let's go." They'd take a shorter path, he didn't want Maylynn to be in the dark for long.

But as the sun went down, Yesterday began to display his rather... unique characteristics. His hair began to give off a faint glow, as did his eyes. They were similar to a nightlight and he could power it up and down at will, but he couldn't turn it off completely.

He was glad that Yesterday hadn't kept him standing there for a long time. It seemed that only a few seconds passed before they were both walking to his destination. This was the first person he had ever brought to his dorm. It was scary and fantastical at the same time. He squeezed the boy's hand as his eyes stayed glued to the pavement in front of him, shifting his eyes up after every block passed his feet.

They were almost back to his dorm before he looked up and jumped at the glowiness of his friend. "A-Are you alright?" He said in a faint voice, as the image of him had changed. He was like a lantern.

"Huh?" He looked over; according to his coordinates, they were both getting rather near. They were already on school grounds and it was only another block or two away. It was definitely dark now with nothing but a few streetlamps and the moon as light... that, and Yesterday himself.

His skin, at this point, was giving off a glow as well. It was a lot fainter than his hair and eyes and looked soft and fuzzy around the edges. It looked ethereal, like how someone would imagine a ghost or spirit. His eyes were a gentle violet and his hair was practically a nightlight. At the mention of it he did tone it down, but it definitely didn't eliminate everything. He still stood out like a sore thumb.

"Mhm... Why do you ask?" He looked down at his free hand. "I glow all the time. It's easier to see at night."

"Y-You're a light?" He blinked, utterly confused by it. It was creepy to look at, having his hair, yes and skin glow. His eyes alone sent w few shivers down his spine. It was weird to look at such a bright light, where the red were supposed to be. For a second, he didn't know how to respond, and not sound insulting or rude to this unique power. "I like it actually." He nodded with a quick side step closer to Yesterday. "It makes me feel safer out here." His smile was sincere and full of life, as he occasionally bumped shoulders with the lantern.

As they entered the school, he kept quiet until the dorms. He didn't want to say anything that would make him any redder. He was in fact, taking a boy he liked into his room. Once he reached his room, he took a nervous side glance to him, before reaching into his pocket and getting the keys. He fumbled at first, like in the movies. Is this when he kisses me? She shook his head as his knowledge of romance movies flooded his head. A few long seconds afterwards, he heard a ting, as he creaked his door open. "I guess this is it?" He let go of the handle and made a half turn to face Yesterday.

At least inside was brighter. He followed Maylynn down the long, winding corridors to his room. The school itself had been around for a very long time, so he was surprised that it looked rather modern. In his readings, old schools tended to be dingy and dim. Then again, there weren't many in the fictions he read.

The key clicked in the hole and the door creaked open, revealing a bit of the interior. "Huh?" He cocked his head to the side for a second, as if gauging what was behind the door without actually looking, then nodded. "Yes. You're safe and sound now." His job was done, and he'd done it well. Maylynn hadn't gotten kidnapped or dragged into a dark alley.

"I will be on my way. Get some rest." After all, Maylynn was human. He needed sleep.

He was just going to leave so suddenly? The thought stirred in his head as he stood, wide eyed at the boy. He knew he wouldn't change his mind, no, nor did he really want to. He didn't feel like explaining the feeling in his stomach as they stood there, holding hands in the somewhat dim lighting.

"O-Oh, alright." He nodded to himself before letting go of Yesterday's hand and spinning around on his heels. He felt a ting of coldness go to his hand, as he flexed and unflexed it; it felt empty. "I-If you want you c-could-" he started, before his embarrassment took over, forcing him to run into his room and slam the door behind him. He panted, groaning as he covered his crimson complexion under his hands. He didn't need to overthink it, Yesterday was just a friend that had held his hand, right?
