Red glowing eyes were all that could be seen through the fog. A large roar penetrated the silence, and the fog dispersed, revealing the head and neck of the mighty serpant that floated in the water not far from the dooks. It had been a long time since he had fought one, and he shook his head, holding Requiem and Revelation, preparing for the attack.
The beast swam forward, and Zaine ran to the edge of the pier and jumped at it, his blades sliding into the snake's neck. He pulled himself up onto its back, slicing its neck mercilessly as he tried to annihilate the thing. He was quickly thrown off, landing with a thud and a groan on the beach. He struggled to his feet, still holding the swords. I cant quite use these things, I might impale myself when it throws me off next time
Zain ran back up into the docks, throwing Revelation, stabbing it in the left eye. "Bingo! Now hurry up and die already!" He called to it as it came closer, impaling itself on some rocks at the end of the pier. He ran forward, collecting his sword, as well as the jewel that was stuck in its throat. "That'll teach you to steal from me!" He muttered wryly, kicking the beast's head. He turned around, pocketing the precious gem and laughing at how easily he had beaten the thing. He got to the end of the dock before a loud noise alerted him the creature wasnt quite dead. As he swung around, his eyes became empty, reflecting the loneliness and anguish of his past. His swords dropped to the ground, and he fell to his knees, crying out aloud, seeing the thing he feared and hated most of all. The thing that had caused his family to die, that had made his life horrible, and given him his inhuman ability. The karavinje, the dragon-like creature that could morph its appearance into that of any serpent. The thing he had hunted for so long, was now escaping before his very eyes. He cried out again, his voice echoing loudly.
