"Oh, that was it..." He looked to the sea, putting his arms upon the railing, and his chin upon his arms. "I put my arms around you, because that is what my father did before he died. I felt special, and I cried because of the sadness that I had because of the love, of the specialness my father, as well as my mother, gave to me. I guess" He paused, hesitating on the words to use, "I guess I wanted you to not be sad, so I wanted to comfort you with a hug. It was...to make you feel special because you have a friend that cares." Valentine looked down, not knowing anything of the significance of the hug, other than it had bothered her. He sighed, "I am sorry if that made you feel bad."

She listened to him. "It's not that it made me feel bad, it's that..." She looked at the sea not wanting to say it. She felt loved when he hugged her, she liked it she liked the warmeth of his arms holding her close. She never felt loved and when he hugged her it stirred her heart making her become only more attached to him. She didn't know how to say what she felt and figured it wasn't the best time or place for it.

She wondered what it was liked to be loved, truly loved. She only knew of pity, hate, deceit, pain, sorrow. Love was like a fairy tale to her and then to feel that in his arms only made her wonder. Could she ever feel it again? She looked down at the water thinking about her past. The pain, the sorrow, she thought about the deceit of her father. And the love of Valentine's parents to him which only made her sigh.

Alas he took the sigh the wrong way, instead of one of love and happiness, he thought it was one of sadness. "Sorry...just want to know what bothers you about the hug since it doesn't make you feel bad. I just want to be a friend for now. Also, that reminds me, you mentioned something to Percy about something in the past, how you beat up a guy..." He was trailing off.

She probably will think I am weird and then it is really going to get awkward. He looked up at the blue sky, wondering the emptiness of it, why did the sky not just come to them, instead of the sky being so empty. The blueness of it, why? Why so empty, so mysterious?

She looked at him. "It's not that Valentine, it's.... Well I may as well tell you." She looked down. "All my life I never had anyone love me or want me to feel special. Your hug did just that, it made me feel..." She went silent for a minute. "It made me feel not only special but.... loved." She looked down again.

She looked at the sky slowly... "I beat up the guy because he was someone who needed to learn relationships aren't meant for just being in one. It's when two people who were friends think that the other may be the possible love of their life. He called too many people beautiful, it lost it's meaning for him." She said to him answering both questions.

"Oh" the tone of his voice was open and happy, "I also share that same thing. It is funny...I once had a friend, a girlfriend at that, but she well...lied to me about too many things. She was also my only friend. I am glad that you feel that way though about hugs. Phew, I thought things were going to get extremely awkward, like last time."

He sort of laughed, but also found out after he said the whole awkward thing that he somewhat felt like hugging her, just to make her feel special, loved. Why? I don't like her, not like that. Right? He then thought confidently Right!

She smiled warmly glad he didn't get odd or the whole thing start a awkward moment. "Thanks.... I thought this was going to get as bad as Percy's being a bigmouth. I can't believe I ever let him get away the first time. We aren't truely friends he and me were more like rivals. He probably was glad I didn't hit him like I normally do when he flirts. He's a nice kid when he's not a bigmouth but I'm sorry it'd be too weird dating a 300 year old 14 year old." She said with a chuckle...

"I feel bad for him since he'll never get a romance though, he can never have a family. It's more like a curse to him, but what gets me is he never gives up. He's a odd character, but one that likes to help others. He's the one that taught me the world of vampires when I became a vampire, I would've been killed if it wasn't for him. Though he never knows when to shut up." She said with a light laugh. "I'm sorry about what happened."

He somewhat laughed with her, but could only feel a little bad for the three hundred year old. "It's alright. Odd things happen in relationships...at least I think so. Must really suck to be three hundred, and yet be fourteen. He probably will never find her...."
His eyes looked at the horizon. "But, anyways I do need to talk to him. It wasn't right, the way he just blurted everything. I know he is a bigmouth...but that does go too far, right? Or am I just overreacting and need to breathe?" he chuckled some as he said her own comment.

"Anyways, lets go to the beach, I'm starting to get a little hot out here." It wasn't the most comfortable of fall days, actually, it was quite warm. Oi...letting rumors go to my head...global warming...ha!

She laughed at his comment. "Haha..." She said sarcastically to him saying what she had said to him just minutes before.

"Anyways, lets go to the beach, I'm starting to get a little hot out here." It wasn't the most comfortable of fall days, actually, it was quite warm.

She smiled... "Not a bad idea maybe after we can try the balloon popping and see if I can beat you." She said competively to him. She smirked she loved to try and beat a guy it was fun. She never was the kind of girl to sit and do her nails and put on globs of makeup. She liked to do things and not sit idle doing nails. "Oh... wait, didn't you want to go horseback riding and see me fall on my backside?" She asked with a snicker.

"Let's do horseback riding another day. Right now I want to go and beat you in a dart throwing contest." Finally! That smile! The smile that he has been searching for out of the thick darkness.

"Though, I must tell you, don't cry when you lose." He snickered and leaned his head back, enjoying the good day today. He had a red shirt on that reflected the sun a bit as his black bathing suit with yellow flowers on it made him look like quite the scene.

Gathering himself to the dart booth, he smiled seeing the balloons fully inflated, seven darts were handed to him and another seven were handed to Amelia as Valentine paid for them both.

Throwing each dart he made seven out of ten, two of them barely making it to the balloon. The booth manager sighed.

Amelia narrowed her eyes she looked at the darts picturing them to be bats. She threw dart after dart. One, Two, Three, Four, Five. She turned to Valentine and smiled... "Don't cry." She looked at the balloons and turned her back her hearing listened to the balloon moving back and forth she threw the two darts quickly and turned.

Just in time to see one of them make it's destined spots and accidently popped two though. But the other one had hit the manager square in the backside. Amelia turned a bright red. "Um... I'm sorry." She said trying not to laugh at the very funny situation. The manager had a very annoyed look on his face.
