Jumping to the side after she had tapped his shoulder, he shook his head and rolled his eyes some. "Sheesh...always have to scare me, don't cha?" he laughed as he looked to the sea. Behind them was a multitude of booths, and in front was of course the beach.

"Lets go to the booths first. I don't want to be freezing when we are doing the booths." Valentine smiled and looked towards the booths, seeing one in mind that he particularly liked. The dart popping balloon contest.

She smiled... "Actually yes I do, you looked all alone and bored." She said with a chuckle looking at the sea. "It's pretty beautiful." She said with a light smile.

She listened to him and looked towards the booths and smiled. "I betcha I can beat ya on a few." She said looking at the booths. She wasn't sure what she would and wouldn't beat him at but felt it'd be a little weird if she told him he'd probably beat her too. She didn't want another weird moment like with what happened with Percy.

"Psh! Yea right!" He nodded towards the booth and saw some young people there, but didn't know if they went to the academy. It didn't matter though...it was odd...how much he used to care.

First up was the ring toss. Taking out about five dollars he paid for the both of them. "Eh, you suggested we go to the beach, so I guess I will pay for us." Valentine smiled, taking his five rings.

Throwing them one by one he got aggravated in a funny way, his face shriveling almost.

He only got two of five in.

She smiled lightly even if this wasn't date it felt so much like it. She saw him not get the least bit upset seeing one of the Starlight students stare at the two of them. She felt so glad he didn't get upset, it seemed like he didn't mind anymore. Maybe it wasn't a lie anymore hence why it didn't bother him. Or maybe it was because of her talk with him about vampires.

She felt a little odd having him pay for her to do the booth. She didn't know why she did. She saw him get agravated and took up a ring she looked at the target and went for it. 2 hit but three didn't, what happened was her mind kept getting distracted on the shots so she missed. She looked agravated lightly she stepped back and looked at Valentine from the corner of her eye to see his expression.

She had to stop thinking about earlier, it was hard not to though. She wondered about what if they weren't a fit as a couple. What if they were? Did he like her a little? Why did he look in her eyes like he did earlier. She had all these questions in her wondering why.

Seeing them tie, he hadn't seen her look at him but merely smirked, somewhat victorious, but also a sign of confusion went through him. Thought she would definitely win this over me...

The booth manager handed Valentine a big brown bear with a blue bowtie. The femal booth manager then whispered into his ear, "Give it to your girlfriend, you guys look cute together!" She had a happy tone to her voice and she back off, knowing that Amelia probably knew why she whispered it.

He handed the bear back to her, a sigh coming from him. "We aren't going out, we are just friends. Sorry to...umm...burst your bubble." Valentine said it aloud, now fairly frustrated, his eyes looking down to his left. Geez, everyone does!

Sighing, he thought of the oppression that just the vampiric race had to deal with and tried to calm himself down. She is doing worse off then me, and I am the one with the bad temper.

The smell of the salty sea air calmed him, and he had no idea why. The sky, so blue, so greatly blue, was so clear, everything seemed to be peaceful, yet beneath the sky and beyond and beneath the ocean...it was chaos.

As they walked away from the booth. Amelia rolled her eyes and laughed lightly... "I think you should just get used to it, I mean it is a innocent mistake and the manager was trying to be sweet. You need to soften your words, be kinder she was trying to be nice. And you overreacted, you need to simply breath."

She wasn't bothered at all by the accusations anymore. She had just been thru Percy so it was nothing. "You know what, you didn't get that upset at Percy which I don't understand why. Was it because Percy's 300 years old and still looks like a 14 year old?" she asked a bit curiously.

She looked at the sky it was quite a beautiful day, she was glad they we're out together. She had definately got the jist that this wasn't a date. But she did enjoy his company anyhow so it didn't matter. She was just glad to be able to spend the day with her closest friend.

Valentine ignored her first comment towards him, she should know he has barely any temper management within him. The second comment though, he couldn't ignore, it was something that not even he realized. Why didn't I get mad at him? Well, I sort of did...

"Who said I wasn't mad at him? Maybe I didn't want to fight another vampire after having fought one. Also, what if I was planning to talk to him later. I mean, you were hurt at the scene, and I guess I know somewhat that it bothers you." It was true, she hadn't liked it when he blew up on people.

He shrugged, "Whatever."

She put her hand on his shoulder. "Hey... Whatever isn't a way to end a coversation, besides I was only curious. Anyway Percy can be a bit of a pain, I wanted to ring his neck myself. He's way too outspoken, but he uses it in a fight rather well it shocks the person long enough for him to sneak a attack. Hence why he lived so long." She looked at Valentine taking her hand off his shoulder.

She wanted to know so badly why he held her the way he did earlier. She decided to wait until a more private place, she didn't know why he held her so close and it gave her a feeling like never before. She wondered if deep inside him he really did care, even if it was deep inside of him.

She smiled lightly seeing the dart balloon popping contest. "Let's go there." She said with a smile. "I think I'll do better there, hopefully."

He looked at her hand as it was on his shoulder. Valentine wondered what was wrong, it seemed like every second now. Eversince that blasted scene in the forest.

"I...hope you can do better. Something is on your mind though, you messed up on the dart contest. Unless I am correct, when we fought and when you fought the vampire, you were pretty accurate. Are you tired?"
He looked down, wonderin gwhat he had done to make her feel so badly. Was it the joke?

He looked at the sea and then at the dart game.

She looked at him and sighed... "I need to know something, I know you don't want a relationship with me I think. But there's one thing that I can't get off my mind, and I need to know the truth. Why did you hold me that way in the forest?" She didn't say anything about the feelings it stirred up in her heart.

It had been bothering her eversince it happened. Did he in fact like her in the way he was so strongly against or was it just him trying to make her feel special. She looked at him. "Remember you don't like liars, and neither do I." She said wanting so much to know the truth yet afraid of it, she didn't ever feel this close to someone even if they didn't want a relationship with her.
