His eyes had seen hers drop, his heart thumping. Why do I feel this way, I mean..she did this all the time...or did she?

He felt bad now, she had helped him and what had he done when she was weak, make fun of her. He sighed, and put his head down. "Sorry...it wasn't the nicest thing to say. I would never ever say that to you." He looked at her as he was weary also.

"Well...seems as if we are both weak. I want to thank you for earlier, for helping me, healing me." Valentine walked ahead, his slanted eyes lookign towards the sky beyond. "But, I don't want to go to my dorm. I would rather just enjoy the wind in my eyes riding the horse. It might seem like a pain to you though...because it probably goes slower than you."

He sighed, knowing that she probably wouldn't forgive him so easily.

"But you did." She said quietly still looking down, she didn't know why she let his words hurt. She thought back to what the girls in the lounge had said and sighed. It was true.

She stayed silent she didn't want to answer, she just wanted to forfill her duty as a vampire drinking blood from a human and go to her dorm. She changed her mind thinking about her shack in the woods and decided instead she'd go there. It was more private and not as much as a display to other girls in her room.

He looked at her, putting his head down. "Yea, guess you are right. I guess I took my joke too far...and I am sorry. If you want, you can go and just leave me here. I just want you to know, that I only did so because you have done that so many times to me. I just thought, hey, why not? Look, you are the best friend that I have ever had, that I have ever had. I don't want that to just go to waste. The only reason I didn't collapse and just die was because of you. I didn't want to lose my only friend."

He looked away, knowing that this would take time...it always did. Valentine had hurt her feelings and even worse, I'm going to lose my friend all to some joke! What an idiot you can be Valentine!

She looked up she had a idea she knew it was only to hide her feelings so she didn't look extra sensitive or anything. She smiled... "You thought I was mad?" She laughed lightly... "My word you did surprise me but you really think some stupid joke would wreck our friendship." She couldn't help feeling that inside she would never have more then a buddy, a pal. She remembered what he said in the Cafeteria just earlier that day when he asked what type of man she wanted.

She wanted to look down and mope but forced herself to smile and keep her chin up.

"Remember what I said. I hate liars." Valentine looked up and then towards her. "If you are hurt, tell me. I mean we are still friends, right? Sorry..." It was the only thing he could say. Looking at her, he drew in closer to her, and wrapped his arms around her not caring if she liked it or not. "I am sorry...it was things like this that made me the way I am. I'm sorry..."

He had never even thought of the idea of dating or having anyone until he went to college. He was of age to ask someone to marry him, but why do that?

She listened to his words looking down. She felt his arms wrap around her, she didn't understand. She felt that soft soft in her heart stir, she didn't want to go soft. She listened again her heart started to thumping, she slowly looked up her eyes had sadness in them. She wanted so much to say the truth but didn't want to. She didn't want to lie to him but didn't want to tell him what was truly wrong.

"You know about the girls in the lounge? and what you said this morning? I know we're friends, and our fight doesn't change that. But it bugs me so much that I feel like I'll never have more then a friend, a pal, a buddy. I say I want to be alone and a heroine but to hear your dreams I know what I truly want in the future. But it's impossible." She said looking back down... "Your words only brought up thoughts that hurt more the second time around then the first. I'm sorry about this all. I'm more a pain to you then a help."

He felt somewhat bad, but yet, somewhat mystified by it all. "I am sorry. I guess I used to have the same dreams, until I met you. The thing is that I also want someone more than just a friend or ally, but someone more." He smirked and looked down, not letting go but yet resting his head on hers. "I know this may seem awkward, but it is something that I always saw relieved people, made people feel special. I want someone special in my life...I guess I am not good around anyone but you. I guess I shall always just have a friend...though...you are a blessing, not a pain." He hadn't meant to make her seem like nothing but he wanted something more.

He hoped it wouldn't get awkward, but Valentine wanted to help Amelia in her time of need. "Sorry..." it was something that he just wanted to say. He had gone soft...what could he do. He liked it, yet it was the thing he despised in others.

She listened to him she wondered if he wanted her to be more or if he was saying he felt they couldn't be more. She felt confused, she felt his head on her's she felt her heart push the feeling it gave away. She didn't want to grow close to him if he didn't want it. He listened to the words he said next becoming more puzzled.

"I know this may seem awkward, but it is something that I always saw relieved people, made people feel special. I want someone special in my life...I guess I am not good around anyone but you. I guess I shall always just have a friend...though...you are a blessing, not a pain."

She didn't understand, why would he do this if he didn't want her to be more? Or if he did, then how was she to know. She felt her heart soften more, she didn't like people who had gone soft, yet she herself had gone soft. She didn't know what to say but didn't want to give him something he didn't want. She slowly put her arms on his holding him closer. She had no words to say.

Percy suddenly walked up silently behind the two. "Well bonding time I see? And you said he was only a friend, honestly Amelia." He said looking at the two. "You are cute together though, good fighting team too."

"Uh...ya know...I really...really wish I could explain this. But, unfortunately I can not other than this. I was just telling her how much I have wanted a girl of my own for quite some time, yet, I am too stubborn to have one. Hehe...just...not with her, because..." He looked to her and blushed some, letting go of her completely. This can't be good. "..she is cool and all, but we have...only known each other for two days. What relationship can come out of that?" He asked himself that question also as his mind raced within his answer, his answer was so unlike him. Amelia would think so differently if she saw him interact with another person.

"So...yea." He put his arm behind his head. Wow...awkward...didn't know it would be like this...guess I went a little too far with her...oi.

Do I really like her? I mean, I seem too kind to her. Almost uncharacteristically so.

Percy looked at him his eyes more piercing... "You know Amelia is like my sister, if you hurt her you will end up facing me. She's a girl that's rare sometimes, she can kick someone's behind yet right now she's more soft then a pillow." He said with a smirk.

The words that came out of Percy's mouth made her blush she was shocked the first time. But now it wasn't something she could ignore, she was blushing noticably. She pushed the shock of him saying what he said away. "Well aren't you mister say whatever's on your mind, I mean he was only trying to..." She stopped, she didn't know exactly what he was trying to do. She had never had a fellow hold her like he had, she never felt the way she did. So soft inside, she never would've tackled the vampire before to protect someone. She pushed herself a lot that day to try and help him and now the whole moment and feeling. She hated when Percy talked now she was confused.

"I think she likes you, a lot Valentine. I'm serious no tease, she's kicked too many people away. I've seen people get beat up for calling her pretty or simple things that are innocent. Yet to see the girl who would beat a man down, in the arms of another it's kinda hard to think the girl that usually beats the tar out of guys now holding one it's. It's like seeing my mother and father actually care. It's rare Val, I want you to know that you may think nothing may come out of two days. But they're are people back then who married only by trust of God and a servant finding some random girl because she offered him drink and to water his camels and bringing that girl for his master to marry." He said this seriously like a father almost.

Amelia wanted to deck him one, she never was more embarassed in her life. She looked away trying to escape from both of their gaze. This was too embarassing she wanted to run, but she couldn't leave him there he was still weak maybe. She just closed her eyes tightly. "I'm so going to kill him. Percy won't see another day, his intentions may be good but he so picked the wrong time."
