"Scary. I know. I'm supposed to be," he said. He paused, for a bit. That was probably not going to help. He looked at Zen and she whistled, going back to their room. Ardos removed his sword and set it aside, showing Ravi his free palms — look at this, no weapons, safe — and crossed his arms.

"Look," he knelt down in front of Ravi and looked him sternly in the eyes, voice low and soft, "Me and my sister are poor and we have a lot of enemies, so you need to understand that we don't welcome people intruding into our house. This is the Underground. There are a lot of bad people in here, and what you did is very similar to what they do, so we reacted the way we were supposed to. You're not entitled to any of our food, and I'm offended that you had the audacity to start raiding our pantry. That being said, we know what being desperate is like. You have to do stuff you're not proud of. Me..." He tilted his shoulder at Amphy. "...and Amphy are more than willing to feed you, if you ask nicely. Can you do that? Can you just ask us for food?"

Ravi backed up further as Ardos approached. The drow was obviously very strong, so him just leaving his sword behind wasn't making the ratmorph very confident around him.

His breathing hitched again, his heart-rate increasing as the drow got closer. Zen leaving did make him feel better though, a lot better.

"H-h-how c-can i t-trust you?" He asked, quietly, his eyes flicking between Ardos and Amphy. Last time he just asked someone around here for food, they tried to poison him.

Ardos looked Ravi straight in the eyes, expression stern and honest.

"You use your head. Ask yourself: Why would this man waste his time for a really, really elaborate poisoning scheme when he could already kill me with his bare hands, and nobody would even flinch because he kills people on an almost nightly basis?" A pause. That was sound logic, he thought. "I am not going to hurt you. The fact that we're still talking speaks volume. If I do intend to hurt you, trust me, you'll already be dead."

That logic may have been sound for Ardos, But for Ravi, who was still incredibly frightened of this man, it was akin to a death sentence.

The wererat backed up on the couch further, putting as much distance as he could from Ardos, his body shifting and changing to his hybrid form, letting out a frightened squeak.

Seeing the situation was rather quickly devolving as Ardos inserted himself into it, the faun reached over and gave his shoulder a squeeze, hopefully conveying that the drow should probably let up. Talking about killing someone at any point to a creature that's worried about being poisoned or killed was not exactly the smartest choice of words.

He could be... kind of a meat head, unfortunately. But he was the sweetest guy Amphy knew and it took a lot of control to keep himself from just. Flinging his arms around the drow in a hug.

Thinking about it, Amphy seemed to be fighting that urge a lot.

"What Ardos means is," Amphy interjected, his voice's magic a little more potent. "that we have no reason to want to harm you. And since we have no reason to, we won't."

Amphy continued. "I would much rather see you fed than harmed."

Ravi hissed at Ardos, but quieted down when Amphy started talking again. Ravi didn't know why, but the rat inside him trusted the deer man, which was strange since Ravi generally never trusted anybody he met.

Though, that had been changing a lot as of late.

He slowly shifted back to his human form, eyes flicking back and forth between Ardos and Amphy.

"..." He opened his mouth to speak, but nothing left his mouth. Slowly, he stepped off the couch.
