Ravi's eyes darted around as he sat on the roof, trying to figure out where he'd eat that night. He'd hit there last night...That place had a bunch of cats...Those guys were vegan...Nothing was looking promising so far, nothing except that one apartment. He hadn't seen the light come on all night. It was on sometimes, so he knew it wasn't abandoned. Ravi shrugged, standing up on the roof. Looks like he had dinner plans.

He shifted into his rat form, a large black rat taking his place. He enjoyed running around as a rat, a night like this. The black fur made it hard to see him as he moved around. He arched his back, quickly glancing around for anyone who might be walking around. He saw a telephone pole, and nodded to himself.

He skittered up the pole, making his way onto the wires. This was always a pretty easy mode of travel, as people tended to not look up. He mused why, before attributing the fact to the lack of sense most people had. His train of thought derailed when he reached the apartment building. He leapt off, morphing back into his human form as he fell, landing on the building with a combat roll.

The boy climbed down, and shimmied his way along the thin ledge to his target window. He crouched when he got to the window, pulling a small knife from his cloak. It wasn't much, just a small dagger he filched from some...weird guy in a suit. It was old, and thin, but it still held strong. He jimmied it into the window, pushing it through a small crack underneath the opening. He heard a small click, and the thief was able to push the window open a bit. He cracked it just enough to shift into his rat form again, crawling inside.

He shifted forms again as he got inside, crouching in the shadows of the apartment. He sniffed around, looking for where any food would be kept.

Any good drow felt their surroundings.

Le-kzen was no different. Heightened perception and paranoia alerted Le-kzen the minute she heard the window slide sneakily in the other room. She quietly set her laptop aside, trying to gauge their intentions before doing anything. She was anticipating thievery and rape, not the untimely pillaging of Ardos' pantry full of different snacks and sweets.

Le-kzen pulled out a knife from under her bed and quietly sneaked to the door.

Here goes.

She opened the door abruptly, ready to fight whoever invaded her home.

Ravi slipped around inside the apartment, making his way to the pantry. He was good at moving around in the darkness, and relied on his nose to lead him towards the food. He found the correct cabinet, and opened it. Rustling through it to try and find something he could eat quickly. He froze as he heard a door click, swinging open rapidly. He spun around, and saw a woman with black skin and bright white hair, holding...a knife.

Ravi's eyes widened as he locked them with Zen. He made a split second decision, grabbing a can of something and running towards the window, intending on getting through the window.

Le-kzen smiled smugly.

Like a girl who had won.

"Where are you going?" she said playfully. She squeezed her hands together into fists. A large burst of entropy magic slammed downwards, breaking lights and sizzling all electronics inside the building — and, of course, draining all the strength and stamina of this room's inhabitants and claiming it as her own. Her palms sizzled with raw energy that she absorbed into herself. She felt power and strength flow through her body in its purest form.

She stepped across the room, grabbing the little thief by the hair. She tsked. "Such bad manners for a young man. What am I to do with you?"

Ravi was almost to the window when he felt his strength leaving him, as he collapsed to the floor. He continued to try and crawl to the window, wanting escape. He squeaked in slight pain when the girl grabbed his hair, jerking him up.

"G-Gah! L-let me go!" He squeaked out, his voice weak. He could barely keep his eyes open, much less fight back. Even so, Ravi continued to struggle, albeit weakly.

"Why?" Le-kzen pulled him up by the hair and took her sweet time pulling rope out of a nearby shelf and tying him with it. "You break into my home, you eat my food and make a mess, and you still have the audacity to ask me to let you go. How dare you?"

She pulled his head back, making sure the sharp end of her knife was making contact with his throat. "Give me a good reason not to slit your throat and dump your body on the side of the road, you shit."

Ravi continued to weakly struggle, even as she tied him up. "I d-didn't eat anyth-thing yet! I w-was just hungry...!" He continued to protest, his voice growing weaker by the second.

Then Le-Kzen pressed her knife into his neck, the blade glinting in the faint moonlight of the slightly opened window. He froze, his eyes widening in fear as he saw the knife. His breath hitched in his throat, and he stopped moving entirely as she pressed it to his throat.

"......" He opened his mouth to talk, but no words came out, his eyes locked onto the hand holding the knife, full of fear.

Ardos was sent home early that night because of a misunderstanding with his co-worker's schedule. Apparently he texted Ardos about working his shift for tonight so he could have the day off tomorrow, which was absolute bullshit because it conflicted with his Fight Club shift. He never would've agreed to that through text. That asshole knew he didn't like reading or checking his phone.

He stopped by the grocery store first (the god fucking grocery store with the stupid bright lights) to buy some of the things they needed, like soap, shampoo, cooking oil and milk. Afterwards, he went up his apartment, keys spinning in a finger and grocery in the other. He put the key in place and saw...

What the hell is this.

"Zen."

Zen, who was in the middle of stepping on the rat boy's chest, said a curious, "Hmmm?"

Ardos stepped forward, knocking the knife off her hand. He grabbed her hand and looked her straight in the eyes. "What the hell, Zen."

"He broke into our house! I was just going to show him the error of his ways!"

Ardos spun on his heel and grabbed the front of his shirt, practically growling in his face. "Explain."

Ravi was getting more and more scared by the second. Visions of his death continued to flash in front of his eyes. They just got worse when Zen stepped onto his chest, the wererat feeling his bones creak softly. He hadn't eaten in a long while, and that was obvious.

His eyes snapped to the front door when he heard a key start rattling. A larger man stepped in, obviously very muscular. Ravi's eyes widened as he recognized this man. He was a bouncer outside of one of the clubs in the underground! One that Ravi knew trying to rob was suicide. This was that guys house? Ravi felt his heart beat faster and faster.

Even as the knife was knocked away, Ravi was panicking internally. Especially as Ardos grabbed the front of his threadbare shirt, pulling him up. Ravi stared into Ardos' eyes, at his angry expression.

Ravi did the only thing he was capable of doing. He passed out from fear, his heart beating like a machine gun. The wererat went limp in Adros' grip, his eyes rolling into the back of his head.

Ardos let go of the kid.

Oh.

Crap.

This was not good.

He felt himself starting to panic and hyperventilate. Zen looked at him flatly. "Calm down," she said, voice imbibed with magic. Ardos leaned against a wall and clutched his chest, trying to think but heart thrumming way too loudly. Ardos was fine with murder. But not like this, not innocents, not idiot people that wandered into his house. He was going to show him mercy if he asked for it. This didn't need to happen.

He pulled out his phone.

Zen crossed her arms and rolled her eyes. "Brother. You don't need to drag Amphios in everything, you know. We can just slit his throat and dump his body on the sidewalk."

HE WAS CALLING AMPHY.

Voicemail. Great. Incredible. Ardos swallowed. "A-amphy. I apologize for calling so late at night, but a young man broke into our house and attempted to eat our food. Zen tied him to a chair and threatened him, and he passed out at the sight of me. I do not wish for this situation to escalate further so... please help."

Zen groaned. "Way to go."
