Forensic science. How fitting, considering he was literally speaking with the dead. Not that it was some great advantage, as precious few dead people actually knew much about how they'd died. Dying was a trauma, and freshly awoken ghosts remembered much of it. When he'd first awoken he'd barely remembered anything. He'd acted on instincts and nothing more, and he'd only become more coherent - more understanding after months and years of 'living'.
He nodded once when the boy confirmed that he'd known. As he'd suspected - and thus barely notable.
He hadn't expected the connection. A dead sister that only he could see would explain the feeling he'd had, although it was far from what he'd guessed. He'd suspected he was a necromancer, if anything, although he didn't seem the type.
"I didn't realize. I can't see her. Or... really most ghosts." Despite being a ghost himself, Makara was firmly on the 'human' plane. If a human couldn't see it, he generally couldn't see it. At best, he got vague foggy images, and even then that was only if a ghost was particularly present.
"My name is Makara Som." Standing in the doorway, he bowed, introducing himself to try and make it clear enough what his first name was. "I'm a teacher at the school." Although he rarely taught, and spent more of his time as a dorm parent.
