The waitress left with their order. "You're right, it's hard to deal with them. Sometimes can't help but just kick them away," she answered, giving a soft laugh. "Some folks here are friendly though. I think it's mostly because we're with the old man."

Kranz let out a long exhale as he turned to them, grinning. "Allan, boy," he reached out to pat him on the shoulder, before placing his hands on his knees. "So how was yet first day in the shop? Oh, how did Addy here treat ya?" he asked, grinning.

Allan let out a soft sigh of relief. He had a smile on his face, mostly because he was starting to ease in, "Well then, I think that's good to hear," he said. Honestly, he wouldn't really know what to do if it was otherwise and he'd probably regret not even trying to decline. He let out a soft chuckle before turning to Kranz.

"It went pretty well, sir," he replied with a shy smile. Though if one looked a bit closer, his eye must have twitched slightly. It was well, yes, but he couldn't exactly say it was comfortable. He was a bit wary about Adelene--mostly about making the wrong steps around her. "Adelene helped me out a lot, sir. I don't think I'd would have gotten my way around without her," he said, tugging lightly on his own sleeve.

"Good, good!" Kranz would only pat Allan again, with more force, apparently, before the waitress eventually came back with their orders. Kranz grabbed his beer mug and, just as Adelene thought, stood up. "Lemme roam around for a bit, a'ight? Y'kids get to know each other more." He left just like that, joining some friends on the other side of the pub who cheered when they saw him coming.

Adelene sighed, shaking her head a little before turning to Allan. "That's what I meant," she said, before taking a bite from her sandwich. People were always surprised to find how tasty the food was, especially the meat used. Addy had been surprised before as well. She chewed and swallowed, and looked up at Allan. "Allan, I'll be honest with you. I was nervous the entire day. You didn't seem to like me. So I'm kinda happy I got to help you on your first day at least," she said, before taking another bite.

And then he's gone. Allan heaved a long sigh as Kranz walked away from them and heft him and Adelene on the table. At least the food was there by now. Still, if he did that a lot, now he understands why Adelene might have been clinging onto him the whole time.

"That's what I meant." Adelene said before taking a bite out of her sandwich. Allan laughed in response. "Yeah, I think I got that," he said.

"Allan, I'll be honest with you. I was nervous the entire day. You didn't seem to like me. So I'm kinda happy I got to help you on your first day at least."

"Ahh..." She got him there. Well, not exactly, "It's not really that; I guess I got a bit on edge after ah.. what I said earlier about you being... cute." Allan cast his gaze down to the table, rubbing the back of his neck as he tried to look for words.

"I guess you didn't like hearing that so I was kinda... paranoid about talking to you the entire day without making another wrong step," he admitted. Whatever Adelene's response to that, he wasn't really sure if it was going to be this morning all over again.

Adelene stopped munching on her sandwich as she heard the word cute. She seemed to react more openly at the moment, her cheeks visibly turning pinkish despite her attempts to look indifferent about it. She swallowed the food in her mouth, and then put her sandwich down on the plate, before shooting Allan a sheepish smile.

"So that's what's up..." She patted him on the shoulder. "I just... I'm just not used to being called like that. And besides, I'm not really cute or anything... Uh... but anyway, you don't need to think too much about how to approach me, or Sir Kranz. Just act naturally."

At her last sentence, the other side of the pub suddenly roared with the shouting and laughing of the men with Kranz. They can't see what was happening though. It just seemed like they were having fun.

Allan immediately regretted bringing it up when he noticed Adelene turn a little red from the very mention of the word. Good job, A.R.. You're really good at making things awkward, yeah? Adelene's movements were calculated and it made Allan a little anxious of what she would say, seeing as she reacted more openly than before.

"So that's what's up... I just... I'm just not used to being called like that. And besides, I'm not really cute or anything... Uh... but anyway, you don't need to think too much about how to approach me, or Sir Kranz. Just act naturally."

The sudden contact made him flinch, out of surprise but he eased into it quickly. Frankly, Allan could really beg to differ — Adelene was pretty and the petite kind of girl anyone would call cute but given her kind of personality, he shouldn't be surprised why she doesn't agree with the word. As for acting "naturally"....

Allan nearly jumped at the roar of laughter from the other end of the room but he managed to keep his cool. As soon as the noise went down just a little, Allan laughed, "A pretty lively crowd they got here," he said. "So anyway, y-yeah, s... sorry about that then. I guess I sometimes end up speaking my mind," he said rubbing the back of his neck, "And ah, I'll just be frank that... it's really hard for me to act naturally... I have a... really bad case of anxiety so that kinda makes it.... eh." Allan waved his hands on front of him with a shrug of his shoulders, trying to tell Adelene that he was really jittery about most things. He chuckled nervously, picking up a chip from his own plate after that.

Adelene was looking at Kranz and the other noisy men for a moment, nodding in agreement to Allan. "Yeah, they're always like that," she chuckled. Her eyes went to Allan's after that. Stuff like anxiety always made her worry or at least feel a little bad for whoever had it. She was giving him a thoughtful look, before following it with a smile and another pat. "No need to be so anxious around me, okay? Okay, from now on I'll make sure you'll be comfortable around me." She clapped her hands together and nodded to herself. She looked hyped all of a sudden, as if Allan just posed a challenge she was happy to accept. It wasn't really a challenge though, but she's created her goal and she was going to work hard to it.

And then she went back to her sandwich and also sipped a little from her beer.

Putting the bottle down, she eyed and smiled at Allan again. "Maybe you can tell me what kinds of things you'll never want to talk about? Because I have tendencies to ask stuff sometimes."

Allan smiled in response. He already did have the impression that Adelene was a kind person. But that all the more worried him about bothering her and saying things she didn't like to hear. It made him feel guilty for one thing. He wouldn't really have minded since Adelene seems like the kind of person who's easy to talk to but anxiety is a pain in the an arse.

"Maybe you can tell me what kinds of things you'll never want to talk about? Because I have tendencies to ask stuff sometimes."

Allah hummed in thought for a moment, "I... can't really think of anything right now." He chuckled softly, "I usually try not to think about the things that stress me out so anything like that won't be out in the open until its already there, I guess?" he said before taking a sip from his own drink. His tone made his sound a little unsure. That was almost always it. Ah but then there was death jokes but he didn't want to bring that up.

Setting the bottle down, he turned his attention back to Adelene, "I suppose you can ask whatever comes to mind then." He paused for a moment, wondering if he should dare ask. "What about you though? Anything you'd rather not talk about?"

Adelene chuckled. Of course. Allan wouldn't want to think of things he didn't want to bring up. She smiled apologetically, bringing both of her hands up and clapping them together for another apologetic gesture. "Right, right. Sorry!"

As for her, she had her own stuff she didn't like talking about. They weren't that big a deal though, but just for a heads up for Allan, she'd rather tell him what not to talk about, because she had a feeling he might misunderstanding if the moment comes and she decides to cut the topic down all of a sudden.

"The past," she answered simply, before breaking eye contact and downing her mug of beer. She set it down on their table a little forcefully, making a slightly loud noise as the two surfaces hit each other.

In return of what she didn't like talking about, she wasn't going to ask Allan about his own past either.

"So." She turned to him again. "Are you coming back tomorrow?"

Allan wasn't quite surprised. In the few hours he'd known Adelene, he knew she was really straightforward. He made a wry smile while she gulped down her beer. He knew that reaction pretty well. "Yeah, alright; I'll keep that in mind," he said. He had a soundless chuckle under his breath before he took another gulp from his own mug.

As if he'd read his mind, right after recovering from the bitter taste of the beer, he said "There isn't really much to talk about mine so you don't have much to worry about." Really, most things in his past were just really mundane things. Well. Maybe except... the part about getting to Starlight which was a little blurry. He usually never put much thought into that. Allan just sort of shrugged his shoulders before downing the rest of his mug.

So." She turned to him again. "Are you coming back tomorrow?

He hummed, "Hm? Yeah. I don't have much scheduled tomorrow," he replied, a boyish grin making into his features for a moment before it melted back into his usual smile. "What days are your shifts on, by the way?"
