Alana Elektra Haughton - Starlight Academy's newest student. She'd bet they didn't have anything like her here. There wasn't even a single hit on Google relevant to what she was. She was pleased to be out of the humdrum world and into the magical one though. Maybe she'd find what she needed here. Maybe, just maybe, there was a class or a book in the library that would help her work it out. For now, she took a seat in the waiting area and waited. Someone was supposed to meet her here. A teacher, she thought. Alana fiddled with her hair.

Footsteps sounded nearby.

They said that everythin' was waiting for you. They said that everythin' was set in stone.

Amber was humming quietly to a song she loved, her high heels making click-click noises as she walked. She was wearing an ancient looking, deep purple abaya dress with golden curvings and a sleek crystal blue jacket on top of it. It should look weird, yes, but with her magenta hair pulled up elegantly with crystal blue (fake) pearls, she was looking gorgeous. As always.

But now you're feelin' like a different ending. Sometimes you gotta do it on your own.

A faint smile came up her lips as she saw a girl with dark brown, long and wavy hair in the waiting area. This must be the new student she was supposed to meet. She approached the girl, and cleared her throat.

"Hello, young girl." She said in her deep, somewhat Romanian accent, sounding cheery and bright. "You're a new student, right? How's everything going yet?"

Alana looked up. A woman dressed in shades of blue and purple spoke. Was this a teacher? Was this who Alana was waiting for to introduce her to the Academy?

"Um, hi, yes, fine. Wait, no, not really. No, it's not fine. I don't know when my classes are, or where I live." Alana buried her head in her hands. She'd left home in a wave of mystery. She'd lied to her parents. Both of them, and their new families. They thought she was attending college as normal. They thought she was normal. No one she knew had any idea magic existed, leave alone that she could make things happen with her 'words'. Alana thought about the 'word' she'd tried that morning. 'Explain'. She had tried it seven times. Once, on her skin in gelatos sticks. She loved the feel of them on her arm but hadn't been successful in her magic.

"To be honest, I'm totally lost," She said, uncurling. Alana glanced at her arm. There was no trace of the gelatos. 'Explain' had vanished from her skin with soap and water. She wished it would vanish from her mind as easily.
