Nia's heart was pounding as they stepped out of the cab and onto Manta Carlos' bustling city streets. If she thought her school was full of lots of odd people well then this place was over flowing with them. Even though it wasn't particularly over crowded at the moment, there was still a decent amount of people walking about, ranging from humans to eight foot tall aliens and demons. She felt a little dizzy.

She moved closer to Aedan, not so that she was touching him but close enough that she was sure she wouldn't lose him. Being there reminded her of her very first memories...being lost and alone in New York city.

Her hands were trembling, both with excitement and fear as she scanned the area, "So..uh, where is this music store?" She asked, glancing up at her friend. His shining blue eyes somehow made her feel a bit more calm.

Aedan placed his left hand on the shoulder to calm her, "just a little further down, they have a practice room for usuals, they said we could use it." He pointed with his violin case to a shop a little further down

He started to lead her toward the shop, "don't worry Nia I'm here." As the walked he began forming statues for her to look at to keep her calm. A cat, a sheep as many things as he could think of.

In no time they reached the shop, he smiled and opened the door, "don't worry the shop owner is very kind."

Aedan reassured her and they headed to the shop. Watching the statues helped her focus on something besides the stress of being in a new place full of people she didn't know. Aedan made it easier to not feel so scared.

Nia nodded as he opened the door, informing her that the owner was not someone she would have to worry about. It made her feel a bit better to be reassured but she was still a bit nervous. That was just how she was though...anxious all the time.

They entered the shop, from wall to wall it was full of every musical instrument and hobby item you could think of. A kindly looking old woman with pointed ears sat behind the desk, she looked up and smiled, "Hello Aedan dear it's good to have you here again." The elvish woman looked to Nia with a grandmotherly smile, "and this must be your friend, what nice looking girl."

Aedan smiled an nodded, "it's good to see you to Mrs. Oakeleaf, and yes this is Nia." He gave Nia a reassuring smile, "she wanted to hear me play."

Mrs. Oakeleaf smiles, "of course." She gestured to a door leading to the practice room, "it's free and ready for you, don't forget young man you promised to play me a song as well," she smiled.

Aedan chuckled, "don't worry I wont" He led Nia to the door and opened it for her, inside was a soundproof room with a counchuckle against one wall, "once I've played you a few songs we can look around the shop and see if anything looks interesting to you."

The shop was amazing and Nia wasn't sure where to look first. She had never seen such a place before. She wondered if there was someone who could play all of the instruments...

The old woman seemed very sweet but Nia didn't say anything back to her. She was still pretty drawn into herself after being around all the people on the street. She clung close to Aedan and followed him into the soundproof room. She went over to the couch and sat down, her hands still trembling and one of her fingers twitching slightly. Why did her body have to be so weird? She supposed that was something you normally went to the doctor for...she shuddered and pushed the thought from her mind. She was here today to hear Aedan play.

"Okay." She said with a small smile. She was ready for whatever he wanted to play her. She didn't really know anything about music and she was excited to watch and learn.

Aedan entered the room closing the door behind him, he gave Nia a smile, he hadn't played in front of anyone sense that memory came back.

He pulled his violin and the matching bow from the case. He placed the violin under his chin, and the bow over the strings, "now don't hesitate to give constructive criticism," he smiled and chuckled.

He moved the bow slowly, the music began. It was a calming yet beautiful tune, perfect for Nia. His glowing eyes closed as his mind tool him the music. The music brightened as it went along, as if to represent the rising sun. It was a song his mom had written and taught him, it was called HOPE.

Nia listened to the music intently. It was soft and almost made her feel sad at first but soon the tone began to brighten. It felt warm. She liked it.

She found herself swaying lightly to the music. Even her hands started to tremble less. Once the song drew to a close she clapped her hands, smiling just as brightly as the music had just played.

"That was wonderful Aedan!" She hadn't listened to much music but she could tell that this was definitely going to be a favorite for her. "I want to hear another one!' She said excitedly. She would be content to sit and listen all day.

Aedan couldn't help but smile, his violin had made her happy and that was truly wonderful. "Thank you Nia, your the first person to hear me play in a long time."

He flicked his finger in the air releasing a burst of ionic energy, almost like fireworks. As they fell he started to play. This song was a follow up of sorts to the last, it was bright, beautiful, like a warm spring day. This song was called LIFE.

As he played it, the memories of his mother teaching came flowing back the rest of the way. The flower garden, her laugh, his sister Ani's teasing. For a brief moment...he was home. A tear trailed down his face, and his ionic energy began reacting to his emotions, a thin glow of the energy formed around his body.

As the song continued the silent tears increased in number, and more fragmented memories came back. One that hit harder than the others, the Dragos' last happy memory as a family, it was a simple happy dinner. But it held more meaning to Aedan than all his skills.

Nia felt very honored to hear Aedan's music. She knew it meant a lot to him as he had already shared the importance of finding those memories during therapy.

When he began to cry again though, silent tears falling down his face, and his body began to glow with his blue energy, Nia felt something in her heart break a little bit. It wasn't really a bad thing it was...it was just that Nia cared for this boy and she didn't like seeing him in pain. However, she also understood that pain was unavoidable. She understood that all too well...

The song still had not finished yet but Nia felt the need to comfort her friend. She stood and walked over to him. However once she was there she wasn't sure what to do so she just stood about a foot away, hoping somehow to comfort him through her presence.

He continued the song, it's bright vibrance singing through the room, it was named LIFE for a reason. In its entirety it covered many things, ares of bright beauty for happiness, more lower notes for sadness, and finally notes in between to show the end of a life but the beginning ofa new one.

He finished, his glowing eyes opened, tears still flowing out, "sorry Nia...not sure what came over." He realized he was glowing, closing his eyes he focused, his body drew the energy back in reabsorbing it.

He set his violin down and wiped his eyes, "I promised to play you beautiful music.....but I ended breaking down a bit. I'm sorry Nia."
