She listened to Aedan as he played a few notes. It was interesting sounding, not quite what she had expected to hear but it seemed fairly simply. She took the instrument back, it's size almost doubling in her tiny hands, and blew softly into it as Aedan had done.

The notes that followed where not nearly as melodic as what Aedan had played. They were off key and pitch and, well, just off in general. Nia cringed a bit at the sound and then tried once more, blowing only in one spot no longer trying to copy the motion her friend had performed.

This time the note was clear and held its tune for a moment or two before Nia's breath began to waver. She pulled the instrument away from her lips and looked up at Aedan, "I think I want to get this one."

He watched her trying, his smile never fading, and it seemed to grow as she got the note right, "sounds good Nia."

He nodded, "I'll get it for you," he made decent money and could probably buy something larger, but this was the one she wanted.

He led her to the counter where Mrs. Oakleaf was waiting, "ah a harmonica, good choice," the elderly woman gave Nia a kind smile. She rung up the instrument abd Aedan paid for it.

Aedan smiled, "thank you Mrs. Oakleaf." He turned to Nia, "I'll give you lessons every day if you want. We can take it slow, it even took me a while to learn my violin."

Nia blushed as Aedan told her she sounded good. She doubted that was true but she liked that Aedan said it anyways.

She followed him to the counter and waited quietly while he checked out.

She nodded to Aedan, "Okay. You can come over once I'm done with class. All I do usually is read.." She hadn't yet told Aedan about her library addiction. She wondered what he would think when he saw the stacks and stacks of books in her room.

He smiled, "I read a lot too, mostly science fiction but other stuff too." He took a knee so he was closer to her height, "maybe I can bring a book or two." He wanted to help this girl the best he could.

"We'll read and play music, it'll be lots of fun," he wasn't going to let her be alone, he had been so alone in those labs, he wouldnt let that happen to her. "We'll figure things out together.

He smiled and gentely ruffled her hair, he didn't know it, but Nia would become like family to him, "ready to go home? Or was there something else you wanted to do?"

That was the first time that Aedan ruffled her hair. It was strange. No one had ever done that to her before but she had zero problem with it. In fact, she rather liked it.

"I'm ready to go if you are." She had enjoyed their outing but she was definitely getting a bit anxious to get back to campus and a more familiar setting.
