Nia shook her head, "There is no reason to apologize. You still played me beautiful music."

If there was one thing Nia understood it was breaking down. She felt fairly out of control of her own emotions and had plenty of emotional breakdowns, especially in class or in her dorm. Her breakdowns were a bit more extreme usually so seeing Aedan like this wasn't that shocking or disturbing or anything. It just made her want to support him in ways she hadn't always been supported.

Aedan smiled, "thank you....my mom taught me how to play." He picked up the violin with a smile, "hmm.....now what's next." He tapped the side of his head thoughtfully, "ah yes....the spirit of spring." And so he started, this song started out bright, life like, a beautiful melody dedicated toward a simple concept....starting over.

It rang through, a sound like sunflowers growing in spring. New life, new hope....a second chance. He didn't cry, he smiled, he knew this is what they would have wanted. He was still far off from truly moving on, but for a moment, here with Nia, he was happy as neither were alone.

The song finished, his smile was still there. "Thank you Nia, it's good to be able to play in front of a friend." He snapped his fingers forming a ionic flower and placed in her hair. "Thank you."

Nia was really enjoying Aedan's music. It made her feel so peaceful in a way she didn't really think she had words for. She could have listened for days on end.

However, there was something about it that she couldn't quite put her finger on. The way the music sounded and how it made her feel... She knew there was a word to express how she felt, how brain was processing the sounds, but she couldn't think of it. But she did know that nothing had made her feel like this before.

As he placed the flower in her hair, she giggled slightly and blushed. "Thank you for playing for me Aedan. You're very talented."

Aedan chuckled as the flower dissipitated, "nah....I'm just some kid who had talented parents." He stepped back and smiled, he liked making her smile.

"So, more music?" He gestured to his violin. He'd happily play for her for eternity if she asked. He smiled and started the next song. Beautiful, vibrant, if songs had color this one would have many. It was meant to represent the beautiful things of the world, the sky, the flowers even a smile. All things beautiful in a song.

He played for a while a smiled on his face, eventually he brought the song to and end. He smiled and laughed. "I like that one."

"Well, they also had a very talented son." Nia said with a smile. The words made her feel a bit sad though, suddenly remembering how she didn't have parents. She had Makara but he was a dorm parent and she had come to find that while he was as good a dorm parent as could be, he wasn't her parents. Whoever they were.

She nodded quickly in agreement though as he began to play another song. She listened intently, absorbing the melody. She closed her eyes so she could hear the melody even better.

At first she was swaying slightly but as the song progressed, she became very still. By the time it was finished, she wasn't moving at all. Her eyes glued on the ground in front of her. Her skin looked paler than usual.

He looked at Nia, something was wrong. He dropped his violin, and ran to crunch beside her, he placed a hand on her cheek. "Nia....," he didn't know what was happening, but he wasnt going to leave her.

"Nia are you with me," he took her into his arms in a hug. He didn't know what to do, he could call the hospital have a ambulence sent down. "Come on kiddo."

He lifted her chin and looked into her eyes, "I'm right here, whatever is wrong, I'm right here." He wouldn't leave her alone, he would make sure that she was never alone again.

Aedan responded so quickly to Nia's sudden change in behavior that it startled her slightly. Her hands started shaking again and she found herself tongue tied for a moment.

She could tell he thought she was having a vision or some mental break. She forced a small smile, reassuringly. She didn't want him panicking. "I'm...I'm fine." She stuttered out, her words soft and barely audible. "It's just...that song. I... I know that song."

Her eyes tore away from his, moving back the ground. Her expression clearly disturbed. She wanted to say more but she found herself so baffled by the situation that she was at a loss for words, her mind reeling with confusion.

He blinked in confusion, she knew that song...but that wasnt possible, his mother had written that song, he was the only person alive that new how to play.

He shook his heas clearing, he gently hugged her, "I dont know how you'd recognize my mon's song....but that doesnt matter." He was curious about it, but Nia's well being came first.

He lifted her chin and looked st her, "hey..your ok and thats what matters." He sat beside her keeping his hand on her shoulder, "I know its hard...I only have pieces missing and that bothers me.." He hugged her again, "just know that I'm here...and I always will be."

As Aedan wrapped himself around her, she felt her heart begin to beat faster. She couldn't tell you why it did this. She couldn't really rationalize most of what was going on at the moment. Nia felt a strange spark hit her chest. It wasn't a feeling she could place but it felt oddly familiar.

It doesn't matter? How could it not matter? This was her life. Her memories! This song was the only hint she had to her previous life and now it didn't matter? Nia's mind whirled and the spark in her chest began to light a fire.

"How...how can you say that?" Nia's voice was filled with disbelief as her body began to tremble, "You...you don't know what you are talking about...you...you have a life. You have a talent. You have memories! I have...nothing. After a year on this island and I still know nothing of who I am! And then you...and this song...and...I..."

The fire in her chest had spread across her body at this point. She couldn't think. She couldn't speak. So she ran away from Aedan and into the far corner of the room. She dropped down into child's pose on the ground and covered her head, her whole body shaking.

Aedan was shocked by her words, more shocked by her running away. He thought about what to do, what to say. He walked toward her....taking a seat agains the wall a few feet away from her.

He closed his mind clearing, "I may have memories.....but I question who and what I am every day." He looked, "ultimately....were all on journey to find who we are." He picked up his violin, and flicked one of the strings, he stared at the instrument for a minute, he turned to her again, "you mentioned my song?" he cocked his head, no one knew of this song besides himself.
He decided to drop the subject of his song for now, "I can't promise that your memories will come back.....all I can promise....is that I'll help you build a life....a future." His thoughts went back to the labs, the hopelessness he felt, "you cant let hopelessness win...you cant." Emotion was bleeding into his voice now, this was hitting close to home, "I did.....I lost all hope...darkness took me...and for a while I just...accepted my fate." He looked at her, "but then I remembered my father....what he taught me.....that if I gave up...if I lost hope....then the people who..took everything from me wins." He looked at her and smiled, she had told her more just now that she'd told anyone, "we can't give up....even if your memories don't come back...you have a future."

He placed a hand on her shoulder, Aedan hat patience beyond his years, "I don't have a life...I lost it...so I'm building a new one. And....were here...together. So together we'll build our new lives."
