Grant glanced around the room he was currently sitting. His normal classroom was undergoing repairs...He growled as the memory entered his mind. Some jackass students decided to bust into his class to smoke a few joints. And they did it right next to his store of gunpowder.

He shook his head. He hoped they were recovering well, it'd do good for them to relax in the hospital before they got shipped off to Detention Island. The pirate chuckled, before turning his attention back to his blunderbuss. He was hanging out in the teachers lounge while his classroom was being finished. He would have been in his quarters, but he was working on a project in there and didn't want to disturb it.

The blunderbuss sat in his lap, and he was running a small cloth over the metal of the barrel. The metal gleamed in the light, still slightly wet from the oil. He was finally satisfied with the shine, and started putting his supplies away. He glanced up, his feet still on the table and gave a two fingered salute.

"Allo' There." He greeted. He didn't know much of the other faculty, so he figured he should be polite.

"Alright darling, just make sure you fill it with water first next time!" Said the small witch cheerily as a small group of students chattered and walked away. Dyshelle was having a more or less average day. Her own shop was being checked over from top to bottom by everyone who could--exterminators, mold specialists, building investigators, the whole nine yards. The last thing she wanted for this new school year was for something to go horribly and irreversibly wrong to damage her business.

That of course meant that for once, her large fluffy mane coon Muffler was accompanying her around today.

Today she wore a button up shirt and a high waisted skirt that spun whenever the urge gripped her to twirl. Which, to be honest, was quite often.

When she entered she wasn't.... expecting to see a pirate.

"I... uhm. Hello there." She said. "I'm sorry, I don't think I've made your acquaintance, darling."

She walked closer to Grant and gave an easy curtsy before holding out her hand. "My name is Dyshelle Powell. Please, call me Shellie. Yourself?"

Grant gave the woman a quick once over. She was short, shorter than him that's for sure. She seemed healthy though, very full. She reminded Grant of an old friend of his, a bar-girl in Tortuga. The pirate cracked a sly grin as he remembered her. She was a lively one.

He chuckled, taking the woman's hand and shaking heartily. For a man who did as much piracy as him, his hands were very delicate. Came with the gunsmithing, he supposed.

"Captain Grant Mackenzie, Ye can jess' Call me Grant Lass." He grinned. "Yer face, it'sa new one round these parts. Least, it is ta' Me." He commented, not removing his boots from the table.

Having properly introduced herself, she gave herself the chance to look the pirate named Grant over. He was tall, much taller than herself, and he was certainly dressed the part, with a parrot too no less! Amazing. It made her cast a look over to her own pet, who took the opportunity to jump onto the table.

"What a ruffian! Putting his feet up on the table!" The cat thought as she padded over to his boots, swatting at his heels.

"I'm sorry. She's a bit.... neurotic." The witch walked over to the lunch area. She was very hungry. "This is the first time we've met I believe! I'm the Home Economics teacher. Couldn't be happier. The students are just lovely."

As she spoke he twirled her spoon about searching the shelves. Being so short, she was used to not *quite* being able to find her food when someone inevitably moved it, but she hadn't expected that someone would put it on the top shelf.

How rude.

"Excuse me, Grant darling?" She called to him. "I'm sorry to interrupt your... gunwork, but... I could use a taller set of hands here. Someone seems to have put my food out of my.... ahem.... reach."

Grant's parrot, Rose, squawked at the cat as the feline batted at Grant's boots. He chuckled, and removed his heavy boots from the table. "No worries lass, no worries." He said, running a hand down Roses back. "Rose 'ere ain't much better."

The pirate paused for a moment, contemplating her words. "That's Cookin', ye?" He asked, glancing over to the spoon-twirling woman.

Another chuckle as she requested his height. "Aye Lass. What do ye need me ta grab?" He asked, moving to stand next to her, leaving his blunderbuss on the table. When he was next to her, the height difference was clearly obvious.

"Oh yes. Cooking and a number of other useful home skills, like sewing and survival finances." She scanned the shelves when grant came in, pointing to the very top shelf. "Do you see that red bag with the polka dots on it?"

On the top shelf, crammed somewhat close to the back, there was a fairly large bag that was red and covered with white polka dots. It was very clearly repaired in some areas and in others the stitches were quite hard to notice. More than anything it looked to be too large for such a small woman, and it was decently heavy, enough to wonder how she got it there unaided.

Once she could see the bag she smiled and gave her spoon a sharp whip, covering the bag with an slightly visible magical aura that left it floating towards her. "Thank you so much. ....Would you like to join my for a bit of lunch? I'm afraid I'm always a bit too overzealous and bring far too much with me."

That being said she walked back to the table and set down her bag next to the blunderbuss.

"How do you feel about sweet rolls, darling?"

The pirate nodded, glancing through the shelves. "Useful skills ta have." He answered, before he spotted the bag she was describing. He had pulled it a few inches forward, when it started glowing. He watched with an amused look in his visible eye, his eyebrow raising.

He watched the bag as if floated towards the shorter woman who took a hold of it. Grant followed her back to the table, chuckling. "I'd enjoy that. I've learned over my life to never turn down a free meal." Ever the gentleman, Grant moved to pull a chair out for Shellie. Once she was settled in, Grant moved to sit in his own chair, moving his blunderbuss and setting it down, barrel first.

"Besides, I 'avent met much of the other staff around the school. I've been meaning ta get to know a few more of y'all." He laughed loudly, smiling broadly. "How long 'ave you worked here?"

Why thank you," she said as she made herself comfortable in the chair, watching as Muffler seemed to sneer before hopping down and making herself comfortable around Shellie's legs. The witch opened the bag.

A wonderfully sweet aroma wafted from the bag, the scent of cinnamon and honey and home-made baking filled the teacher's lounge. Aeon pulled out a tupper ware container and gave her spoon a wave--two plates appeared. She poured quite a few onto his plate and then a few onto her own, leaving the remainder in the container.

They seemed to be cream puffs, kept chilled probably by magic, the inside containing sweet homemade cream.

"I've only been here a few years to be honest. I graduated from here you know. Back in my day there weren't any cooking classes.... it was a bit harder for a witch whose skills were purely culinary."

She bit carefully into one cream puff, chewed and swallowed. "How about yourself dear?"

The pirate smelled the aroma of the sweet cream puffs and his eye widened. He licked his lips subconciously as the puffs were doled out onto a plate. He could tell they were homemade, and they smelled delicious. Grant had always had a bit of a sweet tooth, but was never really able to act on it due to his being a pirate. Sweets didn't last long on the high seas.

Grant grinned broadly as she passed him the plate. He quickly made a strange hand gesture and muttered a few words Shellie couldn't catch, before he picked one of the puffs up. He listened to the woman speak, before nodding wit ha smile.

"Ah, ye did, did'je? That might explain why ye looked a tad familiar." He laughed, before he took a bite of the cream puff, eye widening in surprise. "This be absolutely delicious lass. Well done." He finished the pastry and picked up another before he spoke again.

"As fer me? I've been here since th' Beginnin'. Board of directors an' all that." He said nonchalantly, like it wasn't a big deal. He took another bite of the puff, devouring it quickly.

"Oh, well thank you," she said with a slightly abashed smile. "It would be bad if my cooking wasn't amazing. Nice to know I still have the touch, so to say!"

Once she said that, she put the rest of the pastry into her mouth. His statement about finding her familiar was odd, since she was fairly certain she hadn't seen him before.... until he mentioned being there since the beginning. Shellie's eyes widened and her hand found a place just over her heart. "The beginning you say? Why, the school is hundreds of years old how could--"

Just as she was speaking, she caught herself.

"I suppose I shouldn't be so surprised. There are students who claim to be older than time itself so.... physical appearance and age are hardly related..."

Muffler jumped onto her lap and settled in. The witch gave her familiar several small pats on the head. "I was taken aback, you barely look a day over twenty-five!"
