Of course Peace realised Alistair's strategic answering of the question, distracting her with his exact age to the second, which she found a little strange. She may not have noticed if she hadn't had a separate age for her body and life. The difference was that she didn't know either age, even to the year. She had just guessed her body's age based on appearance to be around mid-twenties. However, she decided against inquiring further. She wouldn't want to start a fight.
"Oh, alright then," she replied, hoping she didn't reveal what she now knew to be true. But why would he keep it such a secret, she wondered. Especially in a place supposedly riddled with immortals and others with extended lifespans. Was it a simple matter of privacy and insecurity, or was it more complicated? Either way, she understood he probably wouldn't be to pleased to explain. So she kept her thoughts to herself, and tried to rid her mind of all curiosity about the matter.
Peace had come to Manta Carlos, or rather Earth as a whole, for a number of reasons. The obvious first was for balance. She understood the destruction War and related Gods could wreak on a planet. Had she not been there to keep peace, Earth may have been in ruins already. By merely being present, she could prevent situations from occurring. However, she had a number of other reasons to come to the planet, and the island.
To answer Alastair, she said, "Yes, I am a Goddess," with a smile, of course. She found her position to be excellent affirmation that she was making a difference. "And yes, I must uphold Peace within the Universe. I take care of that everywhere, but my main focus for the time being is Earth. Specifically Manta Carlos. But no, there is no reason to feel threatened by me. I am, of course, here to keep everything peaceful. Prevent wars, conflict, that sort of thing." Her job was quite flexible, really. There was no protocol to follow on how to behave in a situation, only the threat of being slaughtered by members of her own Pantheon if she wasn't doing her job. Yet Peace, after two-thousand years of existence, had come to value helping citizens over her own life. That was just her personality, and she would do almost anything to prevent a death of an innocent. 'Collateral damage,' as other Gods called it.
"I can't really say the same for other Gods. Not too much to worry about though." She only knew how to do her own job. She had a lack of curiosity at times, which resulted in oblivion to external events.
